What was the sense of restarting the thread? XD It's not like the random and listening thread where its like.. just pointless and for post count.

I think all hugely long threads are kind of pointless since no one is going to read back past the last 10 pages or so. I'll leave the old one around in case anyone really wants to read it... but yeah, I've been wanting to do this for a while.
Also you'll notice that by leaving it around, people still get postcount credit for posting there ;)

I think the "Post Pictures of Yourselves HERE" thread should also be restarted soon.

I hate when peopel say stuff like that "This is an american metal crowd*. So the fuck what. Sorry, but I find it ridiculous that people go to mosh and hit each other. It's totally beyond me. I go to a concert to see the band, not street fight.

Its also beyond me.. i never really understood why they do that...I never found getting booted in the face to be much fun

Kaz: No; I didn't see her at all! And that's surprising because from that shot she actually was dressed pretty normally; I shoulda seen her. :-P
I tried looking and then got sick of hearing stupid things enter my head from teenagers.

Dir en grey has updated their site with a new layout and with pictures from each show on their American tour. Check the "gallery" section.

The pit was much more full in NY. In L.A., I was in the pit and it was almost half empty. I mean, that didn't mean there wasn't alot of pressure, but only enough to have really suffocated most people against the barrier. I was second row, left side of stage, front of Kaoru.

Thanks for the update information. The L.A. crowd picture makes me shrug. Not in it. :/ Though it makes it seem only girls were there. I was actually surrounded by alot of guys. BTW The pit was very peaceful. I am thankful the Wiltern managed control over moshing. I am not for it. I get enough out of headbanging like crazy. I have a full review of the concert on my LJ. I was one out of two in 2,300 to have gotten Shinya's drumstick.

Pits aren't supposed to be peaceful. I don't understand all this backlash against moshing. That is what you do at concerts. In the designated area. If you don't want to mosh, move out of the pit. Simple.

I don't agree. That is not what you do at concerts. It's not a must. It's a pretty primitive way to enjoy music if you ask me.

There's listening to music and then there's standing in a mosh pit. There are plenty of other places to stand at a concert. Out of the pit.

There's enjoying music and then there's going to a concert.

There were rock concerts before moshing. Are you saying that anyone who goes to a rock concert MUST mosh?

And just for everyones info, I wasn't in the pit. I see no sense in getting crushed against a barrier if you can see fine anywhere in the venue. It's not like getting close to the band will get you anywhere with them.

Well, that's fine. Not everyone has to mosh. I just don't understand why people are putting an end to moshing when there are plenty of people (like me) who enjoy it. AND do it right. That's why I go to concerts. If I just wanted to stand there, I'd listen to my CD.

Moshers in the mosh pit. Nonmoshers out of the pit. That's all I'm saying.

Some people feel that moshing is necessary though, and if you don't you're a "loser". Personally, I find it all to be a bit barbaric. But like you said, there's a right way and a wrong way. I like to be on the floor, or balcony close to the stage. But if I'm on the floor, I expect moshers to respect those who're just watching and jumping around, and I expect people watching and jumping around to respect moshers and not get in their way.

I jump around and headbang and such, I just don't feel like slamming into people on purpose.

And come on, about the CD thing. Seriously, anyone who goes to a concert, moshing or not, knows its totally different from listening to a CD. :\

I agree with Kazuo.

The cd comment is ridiculous. Going and seeing a band live is much different from listening to a cd (unless its a brittany spears concert since she lip syncs).

Moshing is completely stupid IMO. Going to a concert to trash around with other people, getting hurt in the process, instead of watching a band that came ALL the way from Japan to play. I can see headbanging and rocking out and crap. Im not saying you go to a concert to stand still and lifeless. But going around bashing into people and getting all bruised up is just stupid.

I've heard people say it releives stress. Yeah well punching a way and breaking your knuckles does the same thing for a few mins, but that doesnt mean its nessicary.
