Finished up playing through a few of the remakes in "Megaman Legacy Collection". I really should start up "Jinxter" next after all the trouble I went to finding an authentic copy.

I just want to give a shoutout to Rainbow Six Siege's character Jager. I'm crushing on him ::meev::

His introduction lines:
"They said it could not be done. They said it was designed for tanks. They said I could not make it smaller and more accurate. They were wrong."
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_LP7h0ZgvlE

His bio:
Marius "Jäger" Streicher (pronounced Yeager) is a Defending Operator featured in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege. He features a low armor rating but also has a high mobility rating. His unique ability is deploying the ADS-MKIV "Magpie" which uses an active defense system to intercept grenades before they detonate.

Born in Dusseldorf and raised by his uncle who was a mechanic for what later became the Bundespolizei (BPOL) Aviation Group after reunification, Streicher joined BPOL as a helicopter technician. He began designing defensive weapon systems, including a ground-based Active Defense System (ADS) prototype that caught the attention of the GSG-9. A veteran of the GSG-9 anti-piracy ops in the Indian Ocean, he was later recruited to Team Rainbow.

Streicher is highly creative and curious, with a strong desire to serve. He has a tendency to lack humility. Though he has a remarkable affinity for complex machinery, he is not adept at reading social cues. Coupled with his boisterous tendencies he can be a bit abrasive.

You can't see his face or head at all because he's wearing a helmet, but I love his "They said it could not be done" attitude. Anyway, I was playing with a guy named Heezy Blade for a couple of hours and I mentioned how I loved Jager, which then turned into lots of jokes.

So there were a couple of times when it was all up to me and all my teammates died and I was alone with the hostage, hiding behind a shield. When Blade said, "It's up to you now!" I'd go, "They said it could not be done..." in my "German" accent. I obliterated people in that situation, TWICE! Sometimes they'd rush in to get me and I was hiding behind a shield and I actually killed four in a row... I'm so much better at the game!

I'd repeat his lines during random times, and I loved saying his usual, "You can stop worrying about grenades now" when putting up magpies.

Blade never tired of me saying that ::meev:: He joked with other players how they would not be able to play with Jager for as long as I was around because I was hogging him XD They said it was designed for tanks...

(Honorable mention to Bandit, another German. Another to Tachanka, or Alexsandr Senaviev, a Russian born into a Red Army family, who uses a Soviet-style standing machine gun because he finds it unpretentious, simple, effective, and it gets the job done. So Russian. If he needs a new part he'll look for original home-made parts rather than getting them from other countries and he also collects Soviet weapons. During his introduction video there's the song "Kalinka" playing. That's hardcore Russian folk stuff there.)

Anyway, my friend and I were talking over lunch earlier today when he mentioned Tom Clancy's The Division. One thing that struck me was that The Division is in 3rd person while Siege is in first. I've heard mixed things about The Division, but I'd highly recommend Siege. It's addicting and fun!

... they said it could not be done.

I bought Dark Souls III today, however there is a 1GB day one patch... so it'll be a ~3 hours before I can play it.

through the wonders of me being late to the ps1 emulation scene i've been reliving my youth by trying to get through games i never finished or lost over the years.

I've also actually never played the Suikoden series (shame on me) so i'm going through the second game right now and thoroughly enjoying it!

I haven't played any games but I just bought the soundtrack to We Love Katamari and it's so great. I love Disco Prince, Everlasting Love and Angel Rain, they were my favorite tracks from the game and they make doing chores more fun. ::meev::

Technically, yes XD But I only started the clock from when I actually rounded up my own copy. (Check out all the stuff it comes with: http://www.ebay.com/itm/141124824333)
The only one of their games I played back in the day was "Wonderland" (as in "Alice In"), which is probably the best of them all.

Started on "The Murder of a Clown"... but the Japanese text was all been replaced with Japanese audio for the PSX remake  I can't deal with this, I'm not on that level XD

Finished "Jinxter" but as usual the last couple of puzzles were nonsense you could never figure out without hints.

I can't seem to find any information about that game, what makes it notable?

Apparently it's one of the most famous (or at least most expensive) Japanese text adventures out there. Sort of like a proto-"Phoenix Wright" judging by the manual. It was originally made back in 1985 or so, around the same time as "The Pawn". I was curious what the state of the art was over there compared to here.

I'm surprised they went through the trouble of adding voice actors to this game... It looks like fun, but why didn't they just add voices in addition to the text? Can you turn on subtitles in the settings?

Especially in a mystery when every word could be a potential clue...

It really is ::meev:: If you want to track down an original copy for those obscure Japanese PC variants anyway. But the Playstation version is a dollar-bin title, soooo... ::cred::

Yeah, I was surprised too, I was expecting a minimal-effort port XD But they actually rendered the circus in 3D and let you walk around in first-person (on rails like "Myst", not free roaming)
I couldn't find any settings other than "Save/Load" but I'll take a look through the manual one more time.

New arrival here: "Twilight Princess Picross", finally racked up enough Nintendo Points for it ::batsu::

After a couple of years I finally got around to completing Persona 4!

I'm not too sure what to go on to next, I have Bravely Second in the backlog but I'm not sure if I want to commit to another big RPG right away, I'd also like to play Phoenix Wright Dual Destinies so I'm considering getting that in preparation for the new one!

Final Fantasy VI is my favourite Final Fantasy, I've never actually completed it though - I even got right up to the final boss.

I don't think I've ever actually completed a Final Fantasy game, I always get to the final battle and then lose interest or get pulled away from the game and never have the heart to take it up again.

Come on, they let you use all 200 of your party members in that fight. You should be able to skid across the finish line somehow ::meev::

Currently chasing down "Gerad" in the World of Ruin but I think I lost him ::kisaki::
