Most platforming games these days don't get it right, mechanics-wise, but this one does.

Waiting for a new 2D Castlevania...

I did back Bloodstained on Kickstarter whenever that was, I believe it is due to be completed at the end of this year!

I've been playing Need for Speed: Rivals, almost completed the racer campaign
Knocked it over yesterday, the final race was fantastic!

I quit waiting after "Order of Ecclesia", that was lame and I never even bothered finishing Dracula's castle. And yeah, I backed Bloodstained too ::batsu::
Hoping they do a Switch port instead of Wii U though.

I remember liking that one when it came out, what issue did you have with it?
What, besides there being no castle? XD I didn't like the lousy outdoor levels and the whole soul-thingy-collecting mechanic was kind of useless if I recall.
I got bored and quit by the time Dracula's level rolled around.

Started tonight: Crystal Caves
A classic ::batsu::

I bought Resident Evil VII for PS4 today, haven't had a chance to play it yet and probably won't for a until mid next month, but I have it to look forward to!

Now to avoid spoilers.

Fun fact - Target has the best prices for new release games, EB Games (Australian Gamestop) was retailing it for $110, but Target was $79.

They don't even advertise this!

Now if you want a real challenge, try importing a game from Australia to the US. No one will even do business with you - you'd have to use a shopping service of some kind if you were dead-set on it.

What were you trying to import?

I remember Order of Ecclesia just being tedious and not particularly fun... Many people were excited because it was a much more strategic game, but it was just a bit too difficult for me and my casual gamer-nature... And that's too bad because I was really looking forward to it. All I remember is that it was just... Unmemorable? Is that a thing?

I AM really looking forward to Bloodstained, though! I backed it as well and played through the demo. It reminded me quite a bit of Dracula X Chronicles, though that's primarily because of the 2.5D perspective. I got the version that will come with the soundtrack and autographs and this and that :) I also backed Yooka-Laylee because of how much fun I had playing Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie (and had no interest in the one where you have to build cars out of everything).

I preordered Resident Evil VII and will go pick that up today in a few hours! I ordered the version with the additional chapters, etc... I can't wait for that one, I loved the demo and if it's anything like that, it's going to be a real treat!

That is a shame, I really can't remember it very well as it was so long ago. It is really unfortunate that these games haven't been re-released in any shape or form. Given Konami's recent business movements, I doubt we will see it anytime soon.

I didn't realise there were additional chapters! I wonder how important to the story they will be, or if they'll be available as DLC...

This:

But they eventually released it in America several years later.

Was it worth the trouble? :P

What is man, but a miserable pile of secrets?

I started playing REVII last night and WOW! This game is all kinds of amazing! There are genuinely scary moments and the atmosphere is top notch. It was definitely worth the wait! I'm loving it! I will say, it's an absolute survival horror experience with a very twisted story and one of the first games I've played in a long time that made me nervous to look at what was around the corner. You never know what you're going to find and what's going to pop out (and when!) There is a warning that says if the game gets too much and you get too uncomfortable you should take a break, and I completely see why. It's well warranted.

This is a VERY different gaming experience than the other Resident Evil games, though it feels closer connected to the original games than the fast paced action of 4, 5, and 6. You also feel a lot more up close and personal with the enemies, who are a disturbing lot of characters. Everything about the setting is perfect, though some of the things in the game are more disturbing and twisted than I feel some fans are going to like. The jump to 1st person also takes some getting used to for this franchise. I haven't seen what the extra chapters are, but I'm looking forward to them!

Oh, and CrystalAmmunition, I noticed your signature XD Some buddies of mine and I are going to catch AFI's concert tonight!

Finished up with all 3 Crystal Caves. Too bad my computer messed up half of the graphics on volumes 2 and 3. ::batsu::

Next up is another Xmas present, "FTL"
http://store.steampowered.com/app/212680/

Fun, but since it's randomly generated I'm not sure if I'll ever win. It's too easy to run into something that can wipe you out, with no forewarning. ::bleh::

I can't justify paying actual money in micro transactional games. If I can get it for free be grinding, I'd rather grind XD

I finally cleared FFXV and WOW! I was blown away. Things got kind of rocky with the pacing and story towards the end, but I really enjoyed the ending. It felt like the ending the game needed. I was satisfied with how dark it got. My biggest complaint is that Noctis needs to shave. I wasn't a huge fan of his facial hair ^^; But the score was beautiful, the graphics were incredible, and the characters were pretty awesome.

I also wrapped up the main story in Resident Evil VII - Biohazard. This game was intense! It had quite a few moments that were just uncomfortable and really got under my skin in a very good way. Over all, it was a positive experience. I agree with my sister in law though, it felt a lot more like a side game than an official game in the series (kind of like Revelations or Revelations 2). I would have also liked more of an ending, as the game just kind of abruptly ended and I need closure from a couple characters who kind of up and disappeared and were never heard from again.

Next in the queue: Kingdom Hearts II (I'm about halfway done with this one and really enjoying it so far.)

Played through "Shantae: Half-Genie Hero" because I liked the previous game in the series, but this one wasn't as good. Stick to "Pirate's Curse" if you want a platforming game.

Is anyone picking up the Switch? I waited too long to get the Zelda special edition and now I'm probably just going to have to go begging at Worlds Of Nintendo in NYC on launch day ::batsu::

Managed to sneak in a special edition pre-order at walmart.com this morning (despite my moral objections to Walmart) so I guess I'll pick up a Switch to play it on XD
