Finally fired up Grandia on the Sega Saturn. I played the English PlayStation port a lifetime ago but I never did get around to clearing it. Man, the Sega Saturn was such a cool piece of hardware.

Played through "Wario Land 2" on GBC. Vastly overrated game - no wonder it was so hard to get my hands on a copy. Nobody bought it for a reason.
I didn't realise/often forget that there was a new PlayStation coming out/already out, which I assumed was the PlayStation 4, only to find out that it is the PlayStation 5. What's more, is I used to own a PlayStation 4. In other news, I recently bought 'Nanatsu Kaze no Shima Monogatari' for Sega Saturn, it's on the list for once I finish Grandia.
I've been playing Dragon Quest VI on and off for almost a year and a half but it's sooooo long. SSX Tricky and Smash Bros Ultimate are nice for mindless fun. I only started Dragon Quest VI because of how much I liked its Battle Theme lol

I've been considering playing XI, but I don't know if my time would be better spent playing something else. I'm also curious as to what the future of the series will be like, given the announcement that XII will be darker and more action focussed. In other news, the 2020-decade keeps getting stranger as I just bought an Xbox.
I played Dragon Quest IX on DS and even after 239832 years of refinement that series is still incredibly, tediously grindy. I realize that's intentional and part of the series' gimmick at this point, but I just got plain old tired of it. Currently playing "Super C". Now there's a great game as long as you make sure to never, ever lose the spread gun XD

I loved both Dragon Quest Monsters on GBC and they're amongst my favorite games but the series in itself is a bit tiresome after hordes and hordes of random encounters... it gets to the point of feeling like a part time job haha. I never finished it for that reason. There's not enough variation for my taste. I miss games like Actraiser that had elements of various gametypes all in the same experience. Super C is tons of fun. Especially in coop.
heutre wrote: ↑ Sounds like Death Stranding. heutre wrote: ↑ Actraiser rules. I played Carrion recently, initially I had put off playing it due to the trailer giving me the impression that it would be really difficult to control, which it wasn't at all, if anything the movement was very satisfying. Cool game, but a wee bit short.
Just bought this; https://castlecrypt.bigcartel.com/product/morrowind-longsleeve Pretty weird to think that Morrowind and Dix Infernal came out in the same year.
Comin' in with the hat trick here. I picked up the Doom 2016 through Game Pass and that was rad, although the first chunk of the game felt a lot better than the latter half. I wasn't really a fan of being locked into one arena and then clearing it only to be locked into another arena. Hell was also just a bland mix of red and brown that the enemies ended up blending into. Currently trekking through Doom Eternal now and it feels a lot better than the previous game, and a lot more colourful. On the other hand, I'm still not a fan of the cutscenes and extra exposition. Doom doesn't need a story.
I picked up a copy of "The Fool's Errand": Miraculously these ancient single-sided, single-density disks still seem to work, or at least Kryoflux will read them fine. I'll spin it up (starting with the PROLOGUE DISK) tonight.

I think the "original parts" thing has had its day so it's on to a new ATX PSU (adapted), new fan, and maybe a new HD too. Meanwhile I got "Super Dodge Ball" for NES and was highly disappointed after beating it on my first and only try. Why was this game so legendary, was it purely the meme value?
I finished Doom Eternal on Saturday. Game rules, I don't have much else to say. Currently undecided as to what I will play next. I downloaded Crimson Skies as I always curious about that game back in the day and I have Wolfenstein: The New Order queued up for download. I'm not really sure what to expect from that one as the last Wolfenstein game I played was Return to Castle Wolfenstein. I also need to get around to the Castlevania GBA collection, along with the two Bloodrayne games and the new Record of Lodoss War game getting console releases. Not to mention Elden Ring being on the horizon. Too many games, too little time.

They're all hidden behind 1/100000 drops and/or in unguessable locations, so it's unlikely that you'll ever get a full set playing honestly. I think when I played it I maybe had 2 by the end, so I barely even got to use the mechanic at all.
