^peasants weren't allowed in the palace, dear.

@Katija: unfortunately, Teru isn't officialy in the band :( he's just a support member.

Versailles was more than just a palace. :| Why can't we accept that?

Anyway, is anyone here going to go to their show? I'd like to know how that goes when it happens.

I'm planning to go, although there are a few things I have to get straightened out first so I can't say it's 100% certain. It had BETTER work out! I have ticket #7! I'm also planning to go to both parts of their instore event at Death trap-ID on June 30th.

The ballad "PRIDEAD" that Kamijo sang as a solo at Node of Scherzo will be one of Versailles'. It's a pretty song and very Kamijo-ish. The verses have a piano accompaniment and the rest of the band enters for the B-verse and chorus, similar to "Ano hito no aishita hito nara."

Also, those pants that seem to be the same ones that Kamijo's been wearing half his life? He wore them last week and it's a new pair. The waist has a different cut and they're made of gleaming new material.

Anyway, Versailles is not the greatest palace of France. Try google-ing Chambord, for example.

Am I the only one who doesn't see the whole "darker LAREINE" thing as a positive?

I can clearly remember laughing my ass off at songs like "Darkness" and "DRESS CODE" because Kamijo simply sounded too whiny and nasally to be "dark" but I'm willing to give Kamijo the benefit of the doubt. He just doesn't seem the type to be able to just throw down with some angstier lyrics and run with it, can't help but wonder how long it'll be before he just starts returning to flowers.

And although I hate to gush about a costume set, but whatever company made that (I'm going to guess Atelier R-ZERO on this one) should really put that as one of their showcase works. It just seems to harken back to Major Era LAREINE's "Bara wa Utsukushiku Chiru" to me, which is nice because that's the only costume set of LAREINE's I've ever actually liked.

I haven't been too worried about it because I know Kamijo can rock hard songs live. Whether that translates to good studio versions for Versailles is another matter. >_< Kamijo generally sings in a higher key for studio recordings than he does live, which I think is pretty on the softer songs, but I wish he wouldn't do it for the heavy ones because his voice loses so much power. "Darkness" was brilliant live, a dirty, raw, violent, glorious mess. IMO Lareine shouldn't have bothered with a studio version because it lost so much in production. Kamijo shifted the key, Mayu's guitar sounds thin, Kazumi's drumming is so quiet you can't hear half the stuff he plays, and Emiru might as well not have bothered to show up at all. I don't know what happened there on "Anamorphosis," but I've got a few live recordings of "Darkness" so I basically just pretend that version doesn't exist. >_< This wasn't an issue with New Sodmy though (until Mayu left), so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

The lyrics are a non-issue to me. Hizaki keeps saying the music's going to be violent, but I don't see any reason why the kinds of themes Kamijo addressed in Lareine's darker songs wouldn't work for that.

The new costume set is by ID-Japan.

I scanned these images from the latest Cure magazine. They're from the concert for Hizaki, Juka and Yu Jasmine

Sorry if this is not the proper thread, I didn't know where to post them.

Juka looks sooo awesome on that dvd. I wonder if Versailles will play HGP songs at their lives, hm.
