When I had exams and studied, I prefered using highlighters. I usually just read it over and over until I memorized everything. I never really studied all that hard for anything, except Biology.

EDT: I highlight/review my notes, not the textbooks.

When I'm studying I just highlight the stuff I need to remember that I don't already know, then go back over it sometime later

I don't really study. I take notes and read them before the test (and I mean right before XD) but other than that... not really. I've made outlines for a few really tough exams before, since the act of creating the outline helps me commit the material to memory, and then I read it over before the exam. But as far as highlighting and mark-making goes... I stay away from it because I fidn it very distracting. Unless I'm gathering info for a research project, in which case I highlight important sections in my sources.

Er, most of my classes are basically read, read, read...then memorize, so I don't really bother with fancy stuff. I pretty much mark around with normal pen. Sometimes a sticky flag, but that's about it.

Now that I think about it, I mark in my textbooks a lot. Hmm...someone gets my notes next year, then..

None. I like to keep my books in pristine condition XD

Ever since grade school when teachers would stare at the books looking for the tiniest infraction, I've been too afraid to mark my books >_< I just ouline the important parts in my notes, but I never touch the books ^^; In college I own my books, but still... Plus, I have to sell them ^^;

I don't use none. I don't even study for the exam's. If I pay atention in class, that's all I need. Same as when I read a book, for example If I have to study a biography, I read it once, and that's all I need.

Mental notes. If we go over something in class, I just keep mental notes of what I think is important. Studying is for the weak!!!

Oddest thing if I do study for an exam I tend to score moderate to bad, but if I don't study I'd score high to moderate  But when I do study I just study directly from the book, no notes or anything like that ^^ It's easier for me.

When I study, I have to write down notes. If I don't actually take the time to write it down, my mind doesn't absorb the information. It's weird, not to mention time-consuming.

I listin to the lectures my teacher gives and take notes on whatever I don't
seem to remember or stand. My homework helps me remember what I'm learning
about and what I should know. Before the test, I briefly look through my notes
or textbook just in case. The day before the test, (if necessary) I'll make an outline with
all the minor details. I hate memorizing everything and cramming a lot since I get too
stressed out from that.

This mainly applies to science because my other classes that aren't challenging.

By the way, when I use different coloured pens and/or highlighters on my notes not the textbook! :P

I don't study. The more I study, the worse my test scores get. If I just wing it I usually pull an A or maybe a B if I'm having a bad day but when I study.... those A's and B's turn into D's. :? So no notes, no highlighters, none of that organized stuff. My grades fly on a wing and a prayer.

I'm just so glad I memorize whatever I'm told. Otherwise, I'd be screwed.
