Which is the best rpg series?

As long as this thread has been resurrected, I'm withdrawing my vote for "Secret of Mana" as best series. I just started playing Secret of Mana (Seiken Densetsu 2, that is) and the battle system is pretty infuriating. Kind of kills the fun. SD3 is still brilliant though.
I agree with Cheatsy about "Mother" BTW. 2 was great, 1 I couldn't really get into because of it's "Dragon Warrior 1"-esque difficulty level. Any word on if 3 will be translated?

I still stand by my vote for the Final Fantasy series. I got 12 this weekend and it is cracktastically addictive 
The only reason I'm not playing it right now is because my friend Tasha wondered if I died since I havent been online in like a week XDD

All of them are good. Secret of Mana is one of the SNES games I love, Zelda is a alround talent (^.~), Grandia is a nice game, Lufia also. Final Fantasy is great, but since I like the other games as well I couldn't decide for that.
Dark Cloud and GTA are also good games. (GTA isn't really a rpg, I think...but since it also got mentioned here, I think I can say that I like it as well ^^)

I'll have to cast my vote as Zelda. I just beat Twilight Princess and couldn't have been more happy with the game.

I grow up playing those games.. and Final Fantasy VIII was very emotive for me.
But I think Chrono Cross it's (at least) as good as any FF.
