:OFF TOPIC: (Sort of...)

As for MdM in America...

If it's in the new Gothic & Lolita Bible, we'll know by mid-January.

I'll post scans here when I get it. I chose SAL shipping because it's Christmas, and I'm broke.

I don't see Mana being too big with the MTV kids and other mainstream people in America.

I think it's because a lot of people will think --
'A Japanese Goth guy with big hair that looks like a girl? Queer! Gay! Homo! Gay!'
and a bunch of other derogatory and racist statements to follow :( With the people I've met and had to deal with. I've found a lot of the mainstream MTV kids are pretty narrow minded when it comes to certain things. Unless MTV tells them it's cool.

Then again you never know right? I wouldn't mind being wrong and seeing Mana on TV here :)

That's probably true..it wouldn't surprise me. On one hand, I would like to see Mana come to America, but on the other I sort of don't since I don't think that America is the sort of country that would embrace things like Moi dix Mois.

We will know soon enough... But a tiny concer tour in America will not, by any means, get Moi dix Mois on Mana on TV.

EDIT=I don't think you were referring to my post about the supposed "US Tour," but I thought it was relevant anywho.

My god, I would hate to have to put up with the comments that would abound if people who don't know a thing started going around calling Mana queer... ::blowup:: I'd probably get kicked outta school for defending him if that's how people made him out to be because of their close-mindedness...

I doubt people would even bother talking about him unless someone begins a
conservation about it and people would be like "Ewww . . . that guy who wear dresses
and make-up". I wouldn't take those people too seriously
(even though they're acting close-minded and are very annoying) unless they're trying to spread
the hate or something.

Same here. I almost got in a fight last year with a guy who said that Mana was a, and I quote, "fucking swishy homo Jap fag." He was being an ass before, and after that, the fists were about to start flying when the teacher broke it up.

It was the fact that he automatically assumed things negatively and didn't bother to find out the truth that pissesd me off.

But on topic- Mana in America is my dream. I will be able to die after I see him in concert. I would crawl to get there. It probably won't happen though. *sighs* :?

I usually never get defensive if someone says something bad about a thing I like, but I think I would get pretty angry if someone said something bad about Mana. Is there any reason why he said that? Was he jealous that Mana looks better than him^^

Fortunately, I think it's fair to say that MdM won't actually see any proper coverage by MTV or any other large media entity. Mana's audience in the states is very niche and bitty. My expectation is that it will stay that way even with a tour. The fans will be present and happy and the mainstream media will be largely unaware.

If someone spouts racist and derogatory comments about why they don't like something, I don't even bother replying to them. If they can't come up with reasons besides racial slurs and baseless insults about why they don't like something, they're not worth your time getting into fights / arguments over. Let them stew in their own juice and live with their ignorance.

Hey! Mana coming to America? Awesome! If/when that happens, I'll try my best to get to wherever he's playing :) Although I don't think he / M10M will get much attention by mainstream media...especially MTV, which stopped playing music-related programming long ago.

Really, I have no idea. I think he was just being an ass, though I wouldn't hesitate to say that Mana is better looking then him- both in drag and out. Trust me, this kid was not a nice piece of work, visually or personality-wise.

Hey, doesn't Mana's interview in the new Gothic & Lolita Bible totally trump everyone's arguements against Mana coming to the U.S.? *snerk* To be on topic, though, it does seem that Mana may start to gain more popularity outside of Europe, so HAH! I'm just excited... But, seriously, I honestly think that if any ex-Malice Mizer mamber could do it, it'd be Mana (and this doesn't include Gackt with his stupid fat anime fans). ;)

Nope! Remember, Mana once said he'd love to make a European Moitie too, and that was a year and a half ago. Obviously nothing ever came of it. Sometimes I think he just likes to BS a little and keep his foreign fans happy ;)

I bet he still wants to. He just may not have the time or the money as of yet. And, I doubt he'd B.S. his American fans if they made up over HALF of Mon+Amour International. C'mon. -_-

Which is why I'm desperately trying not to get my hopes up. It's hard though.... I have this gut feeling that its not going to happen, but I still want it to. :?

Just because he said he would like to, doesnt mean he will. I mean, he might not have the resources yet or isn't willing to take the risk of opening a European moitie yet. He probably will in the future though, if his fanbase keeps growing in Europe.

Which is exactly what I'm trying to say.
