Although I didn't really like Jade, I'm still psyched for the new X album.

I really thought Violet UK was dead though...

YOSHIKI, are you still working on VIOLET UK? Are you planning an album for this personal project?

YOSHIKI: Yes, I plan to. But I’d like to finish the new X JAPAN album. We have so many things to do! Release our album, start a world tour, schedule concerts. We’re really hoping to come here.

And what about the other project you started two years ago, S.K.I.N.?

YOSHIKI: (smiles) I'm already working with X JAPAN and have VIOLET UK, so S.K.I.N. will be after all that and it’s not what's in my immediate thoughts.

And it's good to know Yoshiki hasn't totally forgotten about S.K.I.N

I remember reading the few tidbits of information on the web in the late 90s / early 00s about Violet UK. After a few years of that I kind of gave up all hope in Violet UK ever seeing the light of day. They did that classical concert which gave us a light version. The early tracks (from the 7-11 commercials and Yoshiki fanclub interviews) sounded good, raw and primal but I have a feeling that everything has been reworked to a point of complete neutering.

And I hate to break it to all of the hopefuls out there but SKIN was always a one-off project that was started mainly because of promoters and $$$. I've come to accept that Yoshiki's word should not be taken literally. Of course artists will respond agreeable to questions even they don't mean it. Years of anticipation for releases and interviews has brought me to these sober conclusions.

Besides, there's enough X bootlegs from 86-89 to make up for the last 17 years of "We're recording a new album..". ^_^

new x album will be a day 1 purchase no doubt! and i have a feeling it'll have a US release so no worries. IV was the reason i got an itunes account in the first place and even though it's sooo cheesy it grew on me like crazy

The two best Violet UK songs IMO are "Sex & Religion" and "Blue Butterfly", the latter of which was featured in the film Catacombs.

And then there's Blind Dance:

That's pretty much it for studio quality material at the moment.

According to Wikipedia Miyavi said earlier this year that he wants to do more with S.K.I.N, but maybe he was just being polite.

I wouldn't say never though, it might happen again one day.

Also lol @ Toshi saying he wants to join as well ::meev::

They're probably just opening a restaurant together or something. ::gaku::

Also it was just announced a few days ago on Yoshiki's Youtube that Violet UK will be FINALLY releasing their album next year. Meanwhile no release date, tracklist, nor album art for X Japan's U.S. debut and no specific mention of S.K.I.N. other than the trustworthy hint that they are still active with that idea.

If you ask me, its all going down 2013.
