Not sure you should. It's pretty harsh, whereas the American version is apparently much softer.

So, I should watch the British version and avoid the American version entirely. Thanks for the tip.

How's The L Word? It used to be on after Buffy, so I'd watch the first couple minutes of it sometimes and it was totally hilarious how hot and femme all the lesbos were.

I'm not saying all lesbians are butch and uggo but

puh-fucking-lease.

Where the hell were these women back when I was hanging out at gay bars?

edit:

Oh yeah and I forgot that there was also that show The REAL L Word where the women looked like this:

Which is also pretty lol since this is supposed to be a reality show about actual lesbians - not actresses - and yet they decided to cast mostly women who look like actresses.

Watching Dr Who for the first time. The 2005 series.

I'm LOVING this low-budget-SFX shit.

It's good times. The first 3 seasons are pretty great. At first I found it a little too silly but it grew on me in a big way when it started mixing pretty dark story arcs in with the goofiness.

If you get through the whole thing and decide you'd like more sci-fi that mixes wackiness with darkness, check out Farscape. It's almost like Doctor Who on mushrooms.

Iskanderia stole my line! Well, I'll just rewatch Queer as Folk (american version) for now and eventually watch the British one, since it's only one short season.

@MissUMana: I think I'll be able to cope with the "harsh" moments, hahaha

@Koji : the cynicism in the British series is what I had a big problem with. It gets better as the story unfolds though.

The British version is more harsh than American one? Sorry, but I wouldn't agree with that. It's just much weaker in overall, that's why people prefer American version. The cast, actors play, scenario and so on are MUCH better in American QAF. And there're enough of cynicism and harsh moments in too. It's just much more balanced and elaborated.

Rose of Versailles...classic shoujo and beautifully animated. The opening and ending songs are amazing too.

Just watched: "Fortress", starring Christopher Lambert (pronounced: lam-BEAR). On an old VHS copy that my TV couldn't make sense of so it was distorting and skipping and randomly freezing/blanking. But it's OK, I wasn't using my sanity that much anyway ::meev::

I just saw Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. It was a fun movie, but it wasn't great without Davy Jones *sniff* Seriously, he was the best ::meev:: XD

I just watched The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets' Nest. So many details were left out, so many B-plots were left out (which I kind of expected, but still), and then they made some dumbshit changes that totally changed the tone of the story. For no reason. I don't remember the first two films well enough to say, but I'm pretty sure those adaptations were much better done.

I guess I can always hope the American series will do a better job
