I've only listened to a few of their songs, but I love what I've heard so far. I can't help you but you might try livejournal communities, as I know they have at least very active Gackt and Dir en grey comms.

I was just listening to them the other day, actually, and for a second I ghought my playlist had suddenly jumped back to older Dir en grey.

The singer sounds so much like Kyo!

But I do like Gazette's music, not because of the mysterious Kyo sound-a-like voice, and I'm getting into them more and more every day.

Ah, but their PV's really bore me. I mean, I know... low budget and all being a small-time band... but... their's seem paticuarly bad to me. :?

I don't think Ruki's voice sounds like Kyo's at all.. o_o

I think their PVs are nice too, my favorite PV is Anata no Tame no Kono Inochi, which is also my favorite song by them as well

 I might be hearing things.

And seeing things.

Now I have to find those PV's again and watch them.

Nah, Ruki sounds like Kyo until you hear more of them, then you can differentiate between the characteristics of the vocals.

I always thought the PVs were alright. I wasn't particularly looking to be entertained, but to hear the music and see them with their instruments. The directing is very good (except in that part in cassis where they're just standing there, that's weird), and I really like the 'anata no tame no kono inochi' vid, in particular.

They use a lot of the same singing gimmicks, and early-Gazette Ruki tried awfully hard to LOOK like Kyo, so the influence is quite obvious, but I think Ruki's voice is quite different than Kyo's. Deeper, slightly nasal... he's developed his own singing style to fit his voice wonderfully. But I do agree that they only sound the same intially. I have no trouble telling them apart.

Anyway... I like Gazette quite a bit. When I first heard them I hated them (I had a bad sampling of songs) but now I like most of their songs. They're a good, fun, rockin' band.

PVS: I really hate their PV for Zetsu. I felt really let down by it. The song is amazing but the PV just...sucked. It was boring. I expected it to be more creative and different, somehow, but the band just playing their instruments= not creative.

I liked the random shots of individual members leaning against (a wall?) But that didn't seem to fit the mood of the song. I would have prefered something more enegetic.

Oh yea, they can be pretty big DeG posers sometimes  but they are definately coming into their own, I think, and that's why I'm having so much fun following them. I wanna see how they turn out!

Yea, I wasn't that impressed by it either. :P Their newer PVs are *much* better. I really liked cassis, though. I thought it was very well put together from a production stand-point.

I love Gazette. My fav PVs anata etc. and Reila. I really dont see any simialrities with Dir en Grey. I think Reita bass playing really makes the music sound different. Besides how can they be posers of Diru if they are still visual?

I think their best songs are really great, they're almost up there with my favourite songs of my favourite bands.
But I think too many of their songs are boring and just not good.
I listen to the songs I like with them all the time but they have too many songs I don't like for me to really get into them.

I can see a lot of obvious influences from Dir en grey, but I wouldn't say that they sound the same.

Gazette are alright, but I agree that most of their songs are just "meh." I think I mentioned it before, but I'm sick of seeing them so much in magazines :p... I'll list some of my favorites though:

-No.[666]
-Reila
-Cassis
-Katherine in the trunk
-東京心中
-Disorder Heaven

Think old DeG. ;) I'm not trying to be offensive, don't get me wrong, I love those guys, it's just that early Gazette stuff is heavily DeG influenced (music, ruki's early way of singing, appearance, for example). But like I said, they're very much breaking away from that now, which is great. :D

Yeah, look at some pictures of Kyo when he was blonde and doing the grungey thing, then look at early Gazette pictures where Ruki's blonde and doing the grungey thing... hahah. It's not offensive...I think it's funny, actually.

They've developed their own look and sound now, so all is good. But I still think Ruki is just a much more attractive, less insane version of Kyo, looks-wise. Like, if Kyo were hot instead of just kinda of creepily adorable, and he didn't use makeup to make himself look like an undead demon hobo...

I claim I kept listening to Gazette even though I hated them at first because I liked their visuals and wanted to see if their music grew on me, but I confess I totally forced myself into liking Gazette because I thought Ruki's lips were wow. fangirlismSHAAAME. D:

I must post here, as I LOVE Gazette.

I like alot of their music. On first (Up to fifth) listen they sound ALOT like Dir en Grey, but after a while.. they just.. don't. If I randomly heard one song from either band that I never heard, I'd know which is which.

I wonder what style they're gonna do next... 'cause I really really liked Disorder's harder songs, which made up the first half of the album, and Cockroach is an awesome song. But.. they're gonna be releasing something new soon, and I dunno.. they might go soft and sound like... average VK. :( I can definately see how people compare them to DeG at times though, 'specially since No. 666's chorus is a direct ripoff of Umbrella's. Ruki raps way more than Kyo though. His english is better too...

I'm really really curious what these guys listen to though. Anyone who wears something with the band name Napalm Death (Who I also like!) on it must have interesting taste.

Anywho, album-wise, I like Disorder the most.. but song-wise I like No. 666 the most. The video is pure gold.

Actually, in the begining, that's why I got a kick outta them, too! :D

Gazette is very hit-and-miss for me. I don't like any of their stuff pre-MADARA and I don't like anything after Disorder, save a few songs (mostly b-sides). I'd say their best songs are Miseinen and anti-pop. Other than those two, the rest of the songs around that era are good, but just kind of there. I'd say the most talented, original member is Reita in terms of style. Uruha has a very obvious Sugizo influence in the way he plays, and that's cool because it's not a carbon copy (unlike Sakito from Nightmare @____@). Ruki.. I like his deeper vocals.. his nasally vocals kinda annoy me so I pretty much ignore him sometimes. anti-pop would have to be the perfect Gazette song for me. There's nothing about it that bothers me.

@Miz: Ruki's english.. better than Kyo's? XD No way. Ruki's english grammar is terrible and his pronunciation is even worse. Kyo CAN speak better english, but the way he sings now really cripples what he knows of it into sounding like noises. That doesn't just go for english, it goes for his Japanese too.

Speaking of Gazette.. I have an arm band I might be interested in selling.
