*new thread for Hizaki grace project*

edit: crap! i typo-ed the topic can a mod please fix?

i've had my cd for a couple days now. I can't help but hear tons of similarities between Hizaki and Mana's compositions. i get the feeling that they both are almost exactly alike with the exception that Hizaki makes better use of his instruments and equipment and vocalist. Hizaki kicks ass.

I'm really interested in buying this CD, because I heard the Philosopher PV and really liked it, but I'm not 100% sure. Decisions, decisions...anyone say it's worth it, I really liked that PV, is the rest of the CD pretty good?

After listening to it, I completely agree with Riz's review from the other thread, with two exceptions:

-Riz was hard on songs that I didn't think were too detracting from the album experience.

-Riz wasn't hard enough on Kamijo's overindulgent "contribution" to the album, just to get a writing credit, which was more than a little half-assed. I don't care if the guy produced it or lent studio time or whatever; if a producer pulled that crap with me I'd never want to work with him/her again. (EDIT: I'm adding a ":-*" just in case)

Ooo now I really want to hear Kamijo's song to see what I think. I should be getting it soon ::squee::

>.>; I feel like in the Philosopher PV, Juka is this guy who has to choose a wife, either Hizaki or Teru and theyre both sisters. So they try to show off how pretty they are for him >.>; and their skills. Their parents are the drummer and the bassisst XD I don't know why I had thought of that.

Hizaki's necklace is pretty cool, with the spiders and all.

And I wonder how hard it is to dye your eyebrows like Juka did. It seems like it would be an awful lot of trouble.

Thanks for the scans.

...who has done the exact same "finger at his mouth" pose every time in every band he's ever been in. XD

I don't think I've seen a picture of him doing that pose in Eze:quL as of yet, however he does do that pose a lot these days. I think I spotted a picture from BABYLON where he wasn't doing that pose for a change and I was quite surprised. XD

Anywho I have yet to hear the CD so I can't comment about that yet, though I have to say I didn't like the PV for Philosopher much.

Thanks for the scans, though. They all look awesome in that photoshoot.

i made romanji for Winter Farewell
all i can read is the hiragana (i HATE kanji) so for the kanji i just had to l isten very carefully...anyway here is my rendition of Winter Farewell (take this with a giant grain of salt)

itsuno manika furideshita yuki ni
keshiki wa shiroku soba matta yuku
koboe souna omoi ni furaun wakesena katta keredo
de yatta horowo omoi de shita

sashiko mu hikari kazoe kirenai hoshi ni negai kodo kunara
futari no mirai wo

shinji haeta hazu datta no ni
toma tomi no naka ni iru
waka re wotsuge ta kimi no namida
tsugi sa rete kara kizu ita

kasa ne aotta kotoba ni usowa nani hitotsu na katta keredo
omoi dewa towa matta mama de

shiroi ta miki ga tame iki ni mazari
egaita jokai wa boyakete itta

nagashita namida no shizuki wo iyoi yatsu meteiru
tsumi komu kuki wa oma jinanoni
kono ga shomaki ni wa inakute

kizutsu kete bakari ita kedo kimi dakewo omoi tsuzuke
mekuri yaeru kotowo shinjite

keredo

futaichi kaatta mideiwa yuki ni to keteitta...

this was my first venture into romanji making. hopefully i'll get better over time.

any corrections or advice would be gladly appreciated. :)

i was a bit dissapointed with this album, but that was mainly due to me hoping that there would be lots of instrumentals like ruiza's 'amenity gain' and i love old school visual kei guitar solos. would have loved an instrumental version for 'philospher', 'solitude' and 'everlasting dream'.

juka's voice has improved since mdm and is more versitile now, and i like the fact he's experimenting/trying new stuff with his voice - the "falsettos" in 'ritual'. and juka rocked on 'winter farewell', he really gets to shine on that piece.

and i am quite happy with the "remixes", i was really hoping to hear 'ritual' with a different vocalist - fu-ki wasn't bad, but he wasn't great either - even though juka's version has a couple a bits when you first listen to it and go WTF? and i wanted to compare juka's voice with seiji/seth - both are decent vocalists, and i like both versions equally, but i think i prefered izabel varosa's voice for 'solitude'.

but overall, this release confirmed to me that i really do prefer hizaki's instrumental stuff over his stuff that has vocals, simply because his guitar skills don't get to shine as much. but i still enjoyed it lots.

btw: the pv was awful! i understand that this is PROJECT and they are indies [ie. "poor"] \, but they could have gotten the members' outfits to match each other as opposed to clashing. and juka looks old [or a really masculine/evil version of kamijo]. and while the house was pretty, it was a pretty boring clip... except when the did close-ups and that was just freaky - their smiles *shudder* teru's smile gives me nightmares.

Shadows, don't take this the wrong way, but this technique of listening for lyrics doesn't work. ^^; It's no good even when you're listening to your native language. (See http://www.kissthisguy.com/ ) If you don't want to take the extra step of checking the kanji to make sure it's correct, why post the romanization online? I went over the first verse because some of the words looked nonsensical, and it's pretty different... (never mind the spacing differences, just look at the spelling)

itsu no ma ni ka furidashita yuki ni
keshiki wa shiroku somatte yuku
kogoesou na omoi ni fuan wa kesenakatta keredo
deatta koro wo omoidashita
