Lardeen you should of used an image of Manowar for your example of macho manly metal! (hahahaha!)

Hopefully I don't derail too much.

Most of my friends are metalheads and from my experience with friends and people I have met online or at shows. They are very set on what they like and don't like. While many don't care what the band looks like I think many of them would care if it was band dressed like Versailles. Metal seems to be a very macho manly thing for some guys. If you mention Emo (which at least here VK is usually quickly associated with it) they're quick to spout "That's gay!" or something along those lines and want nothing to do with it. I really don't see Versailles appealing to the majority of metal fans and the biggest thing will simply be because of their image imo.

Not everyone is the same though. A few of my 'metal head' friends listen to Versailles. They don't care for their appearance and more interested in CD releases then the latest master piece that is Jasmine's hair.

Then like Lardeen says, Kamijo's voice maybe a turn off. Yet I think this depends on the fan and what type of metal they like. I can see a fan of Power Metal liking Kamijo's voice but a fan of say Children of Bodom or Death not so much. One interesting story involving Versailles and a drunken 2am run across town with my metal head friends. My friend Jerad popped in Versailles and put it on The Chaos Inside. In the back of the van my friends started jumping around and head banging, throwing in their own death growls and lyrics. The moment Kamijo started singing they all stopped. My friend and I laughed but a clear example of Kamijo's voice being a big turn off for some.
I agree with everything you said.

Ahh right, I forgot XD Hail to the Gods of war!! XDD

Of course it also depends on the person themself. If they are a metalhead who also carries some interest in aesthetics and Gothic, they are more likely to get along with Versailles than if they're the straight forward manly type =3 For those Versailles are some fucked up gay bastards. All the same transsexual emo shit.

Haha, sweet story XDD
(I love To The Chaos Inside btw ::squee:: Or Second Fear! Yay for Metal. [with or without Kamijo and men in dresses ::meev:: )
(But we also have to say that Kamijo's voice in general is a thing for itself...'XD)

Dir en grey, An Cafe, Alice Nine, Gazette, Miyavi? All those bands' styles are wildly different. Sounds like the variety is there, and it's just missing, well, someone Versailles-like.
Rock/nu metal/punk mix on the one hand and pop rock on the other isn't what I would call variety, especially when that's all people want to hear.
What a terribly biased statement. :| You have the right to dislike a band for whatever reason, but whatever your personal opinions on the matter are do not automatically constitute an overall world-wide view on the matter. I'm sure your definition of "variety" would be equally as inane as you think this one is- however, for the sake of argument, care to share it?

I'm not sure, but I think that Geisha finds that all those genres generally appeal to a single audience. In my opinion, I find it that way too, that most of the time people who like DeG would listen to gazette, etc.
Thank you, that was exactly what I meant. The bands that are popular with European Jrock fans tend to play pretty straight forward guitar based music and have a comparatively natural, down to earth image, i.e. light makeup or no makeup at all and they don't cross dress, and their fans tend to be less interested in bands like Versailles (or Moi dix Mois, since people brought them up) than people who are into "fancier" music like classic/technical metal or gothic rock.

Anyway, I think Lardeen and Lem have hit the nail on the head. The only thing I would add is that perhaps a gothic audience would be a bit more accepting of Versailles` flamboyant image than a metal audience, but whether or not they would warm to their music, which isn`t very dark, is another matter.

Is it the ones they are wearing with the babyssb clothes? Because I'm pretty sure the necklace Hizaki is wearing is this one;

..nvm it was the bracelet that was that expensive. Anyway, I would go for the necklace, it's still kind of versailles jewellry and it's only 7000yen ::meev:: Those prices are ridiculous.

What's up with Kamijo's being three times the price of the second most expensive? o_O
And then the ring and Yuki's necklace is only 29800 yen? xD

Either way, any pictures of these?

I don't think so, I just know that this jewellry is the result of the collaboration between the brand 『GUILT-CRIME』 and Versailles!
And that it was sold during the last year's party..

Kamijo's necklace is the one he's wearing in the Prince/Princess photos. I didn't see the others well enough to know for sure.

These are all so freaking expensive. I'm hoping no one actually gives into this...all this jewelry crap is getting overwhelming. I don't even know if these are reputable companies or not. I know it doesn't necessarily mean anything, but I'm weary, especially ever since the Provence Esthetique "perfumes". Their site seems to have magically disappeared.

If they're based in Japan, they're not a reputable jewelry company. I haven't seen a single piece of jewelry originating from Japan that wasn't made of substandard material and grossly overpriced.

Did you go to Ginza? Tsutsumi has some okay stuff too:pink gold ring. And I'm sure there are other companies like that.
In general though, I'd have to agree; I was amazed by how expensive jewelery is in Japan. You could find something for $120 at a department store there, and then come back to the USA and find something almost exactly the same for $20 at Claire's.

Either way, I don't think I'd risk buying anything from a Gothic and Lolita or Vis Kei affiliated company, and certainly not for those prices. actually I'd rather have this either way - tacky but lovely <3

I stayed in Ginza but didn't shop at a single place there ::meev:: At any rate $50 for a little wisp of an 18K gold ring seems decent enough so I'll give them that much credit.

This thread's about reached its limit though, so I'll leave it up to one of our Versailles troopers to start the second Versailles thread.
