Interview with Seth- Moi dix mois

Interviewer:
Tell us your opinion about the 20th anniversary

Seth: As you know, I haven't been with Moi dix Mois for 20 years, but I've been watching the stage as an audience member since the beginning of Moi dix Mois. That is why I have the feeling that we have successfully transitioned together on the 20th anniversary. He also sang in other bands, but he was never as active as Moi dix Mois. I feel once again how wonderful it is to be able to perform with the members I like for so long.

Interviewer:
So join Moi dix Mois and tell us about your first stage.

Seth:
My first appearance was at Mana-sama's fan club event. It was there that I sang as Seth from Moi dix Mois for the first time. So, the first thing I thought was “I can't put mud on Mana-sama's face”. So I really felt that he was desperate…
I went on stage with such strong determination, but how was the audience's reaction?
It was the first performance, but before the event, Seth's photo and name were announced on the website. That's why I think the fans who came to see us that day accepted us relatively well. For me, that made me very happy.

Interviewer: I think fan club events are closed environments. What about the first stage of a live show called pure?

Seth: If it's a live show open to the public after the event, it's actually going to be a European tour right? It was held in Berlin, Germany and Paris, France. I've talked about this before, but this was my first time abroad. When it was decided that I would join Moi dix Mois, the first thing I did was ask “do you have a passport?”.
Looking back, my first activity with Moi dix Mois was like getting a passport (laughs).

Interviewer: That was a furious development (laughs). So how did you start your life as a member of Moi dix Mois.
Tell us what's on your mind, Mr. Seth, below.

Seth: My own essential character is a very bright guy. I like to have fun with my friends loudly. On the other hand, Moi dix Mois is a sound project with a dark gothic worldview, so I try to be aware of my dark side and bring it out when approaching live performances.

Interviewer: In “Mana-sama's messages” and so on, I have a feeling that there is quite comical behavior as well.

Seth: It's like I'm exposing my essential character. In this sense, Mana-sama has never scolded me for “talking louder”. First of all, the content of the message is quite naughty on Mana-sama's part (laughs).

Interviewer: So Seth, tell us which songs from Moi dix Mois have a special place in your heart.

Seth: That is a very difficult question. I have strong feelings for each of them. But if I had to pick one song, it would be Dialogue Symphonie.
As I said before, I have a very long relationship with Mr. Mana. So before Malice Mizer went on hiatus and Moi dix Mois started, I listened to Dialogue Symphonie
I said "You're doing this kind of song right now." The sound source had no voices yet, but there was a beautiful melody in the middle of the drums and I was very surprised.
After that, when I heard the voices at their first concert as an audience member, I remember feeling an electric shock in my body.

Interviewer: As a listener, what kind of feelings did you have when you were on the side of delivering a song that shocked you?

Seth: When I started singing in Moi dix Mois I had the same kind of shock. That's why I felt strongly that I shouldn't destroy the impact of shaking the hearts of the audience by singing myself.

Interviewer: More than the joy of being able to sing a song that made an impact on you
Was the feeling of tension stronger?

Seth: It was already a feeling of tension. For Moi dix Mois, the Dialogue Symphonie is also a very important piece of music that accompanied his birth. Even now, every time I sing this song live, I feel my feelings reset.

Interviewer: So, is there a song that you find difficult to sing live? It was my first time. That's why songs with a lot of death vocals and screams were always difficult, specifically Vizard (laughs).

Seth: We've had a very long relationship. Mana-sama, but tell us about what you said to Seth-san after joining Moi dix Mois that left a lasting impression on you.
The other day I performed live in Hiroshima. At the launch, I asked Mana-sama: I think there were many candidates, but why did you choose me as the second vocalist? It's really too late now (laughs).
In response he said “Seth-kun's vibrato was perfect for the Moi dix Mois song I envisioned” I was very happy that my voice was perfect for the song Mana-sama put so much effort into creating.

Interviewer: Finally, send a message to the fans who read this brochure.

Seth: The members of the project, including me, joined halfway, so I think there is an aspect of being welcomed by all members and fans. I was able to live because I had my fans and I think my fans kept me alive. That is why we are able to spend our 20th anniversary with current members.
Let me take the opportunity to express my gratitude. From now on, I will continue to work hard to support Mana-sama while working as a billboard to make Moi dix Mois known to the world, while aiming for the heights of my own singing. Continue to be part of the joint support for Moi dix Mois thank you.

Message to other Members

To Mana:

From my point of view, Mana-sama is like a big brother and a senior that I look up to. And as I have said many times, we have known each other for a long time, but he is still the person who makes me nervous the most (laughs).
As a musician, it goes without saying that he was a pioneer of visual kei and the first person to introduce visual kei to the world. A new concept was created because Mana-sama existed in a place that didn't exist before. I think creativity is a great talent.

To Ryux:

I often feel that he is a very free-spirited character. While Mana-sama is like a trustworthy older brother, Ryux-kun is like a cute little brother.
As a musician, I feel that Ryux-kun is a skilled person. You can easily get into any genre of music, or you can easily master it. It seems to me that he is swimming freely in the music.
There may be no such thing as a stereotype.
Even in Moi dix Mois songs, I feel like Ryux-kun is swimming freely (laughs).

To Sugiya:

I've been friends with Sugiya-kun ever since he joined Moi dix Mois. When I am depressed, when I feel like I am going to break my heart, he is always with me, he listens to me, he gives me advice and he is a good counselor.
As a musician, Sugiya-kun is aloof and taciturn, and that's why he strongly supports Moi dix Mois songs, so it's definitely the bass. With him, I can keep my feet on the ground with both vocals and guitar, and I think he's someone who makes people feel comfortable playing with him.

To Hayato:

Hayato-kun and I had formed a band before joining Moi dix Mois. We are so close that we call each other Sei-chan and Haya-chan (laughs).
But his personality is completely different from mine, he is serious and methodical. As a musician, he originally had experience in composing music, and because of that, I feel that his drummer is singing songs. The connection with the melody is very nice. I think it's really good to be able to sing along with Hayato's singing drums.

He's so nice. But I have a question, he heard the DS demo, did he the first candidate? Of course, then we all know Juka comes.

I think that as a friend he listen to DS but at first I didn't think that Seth would be the vocalist. Perhaps at that time Seth was in another band and did not want to participate in the project, after Nocturnal Opera I understand that they talked and I already accept the invitation.
