Some disagreement exists over the meaning of the word "Hamas". Hamas is an acronym of the Arabic phrase حركة المقاومة الاسلامية, or Harakat al-Muqāwama al-Islāmiyya or "Islamic Resistance Movement". In Arabic the word "Hamās" translates roughly to "enthusiasm, zeal, élan, or fighting spirit". The initial consonant is not the ordinary of English, but a slightly more rasping sound, the voiceless pharyngeal fricative, transcribed as; it is for this reason that speakers of Hebrew frequently use the voiceless uvular fricative, the equivalent sound for most Hebrew speakers.

Well yeah, how else would you pronounce it?

in American English (idk about other forms of English), X (the letter itself) is said as "Ecks" like at the end of Sex. That's not always the sound it makes in words but that's how you pronounce the letter itself.

But isn't that only when it's on its own, like the "T" in T-Shirt?

Maybe Garnet was pronouncing it "siom exid siom"...

Oh, I thought they were spelling it out in the song or something, like X-I-D or something. :P Ignore me. I didn't actually listen to this album more than once so I have no idea what part we're talking about. ::meev::

That must be what it is.

He says siom backwards, but when he gets to dix, he seems to be spelling it, hence "*something* - ai - dee". It sounds like he's singing "dee ai dee" which would be DID. Unless he's supposed to be singing Zee / Xi Ai Dee which would be Z-I-D / XI-I-D? IDK what I'm talking about any more.

I got the group photo. :)

And ugh, some sounds on the album are pretty much identical to sounds from the Cradle of Fear soundtrack, so whenever I hear it, all I can see is Dani Filth ripping people's heads open and stomping on their brains. >_<

(Not to mention the stuff I mishear in Witchcraft, I always wreck songs for myself like that xD)

And that's a bad thing? :P
So far Mana's been telling he likes horror and stuff, but his music seems to be getting more elegant and floaty with every release.
I'm kinda missing the horror-influence in his music. (maybe it's in the lyrics? I don't know Japanese and i don't read translations)

 have to agree on that, then even Cradle's music doesn't make me think of a movie like that.

yes i've seen CoF and yeah even CoF's music doesnt fit CoF much ::meev::

But yeah, some darker horroresque based tracks and less elegance in some MDM tracks would be nice.
no, not completely removing the elegance, just more aggression replacing it

But meh, why bother telling this, i've been waiting for years for that to happen :p
I guess i'll just stick to the first two albums..

I'm having a difficult time understanding a lot of the negative comments going on here. I think people just look for things to hate.

I think the album is wonderful. Mana did many things, including traditional-style guitar solos, that were quite unexpected. He experimented with many new sounds that he has never used before (more homage to less-melodic metal styles, punk, industrial, and so on) but still kept true to his signature style. This is the most dynamic, and listenable Moi dix Mois album yet. Plus, Seth sounds amazing.

It's a good album... it's not the most original album ever made, but then again it was never going to be.

Mana has given his fans what they wanted, plus a few interesting ideas here and there to keep it fresh.

Industrial yes, but there's nothing even remotely punk on D+Sect :P

I'm not big on 'harder edge' metal but when Moi dix Mois doing I enjoy it, I like the heavier stuff they do....maybe in the future along with more electronic/industrial songs too.

One song does for me, since it was used on the soundtrack (or at least in a video from the flick).

I get this idea pretty often too actually.

Plus, Seth sounds amazing.

This x 10000000000

I have always liked him a lot, but this is the first time I am actually in love with his voice. <3

Am I the only one that can't stop smiling at the chorus in Dies Irae? I seriously love that song! If I wanted to show someone why I love Seth's voice that would be one thing I'd play.

~You're not the only one, I just love Dies Irae chorus! I think this is one of the songs in which Seth shows his real singer's skills.
