they look nice, but i think the ''gay'' part of the name is a bit overdone

we try not to think about who belongs to what cultural group here :)

Well, as one of the two openly-gay people on this board (as far as I know), I would like to say that I think it's HOMOPHOBIC and PREJUDICED to not allow them.

Everyone go see V for Vendetta.

I'd have to ask Hoshi about this, but I'm pretty sure he'd be bugged by it as well.

We both hate homophobia. *PRIDE*

Besides, all of my straight friends have gay pride stickers and banners and such. :)

I really don't think it's about that... It's like not having religious discussions. I really doubt anyone on this forum is homophobic :| If you really want rainbow bright colours (which kinda look bad with the rest of the forum colours) you can use them on your avatar can't you?

I don't think it's HOMOPHOBIC or PREJUDICED. -cough- Sorry, my capslock terrets.

But seriously, there's no need to flaunt your sexuality. Many people would call that "trying to hard". It's like tossing it in someones face while they're trying to read more important things. Really, I'm sure people didn't come to the forum to ask about your sexuality, or even care to know about it. I've noticed something in alot of teenagers who're "gay". It doesn't last very long.

I most certainly do not make it a point to parade my sexuality around this forum. It's nobody's business. Don't involve me in this and by all means do NOT speak for me. Thank you.

This necessitates a definite WTF. To accuse our staff of gender preference discrimination because they disallow the motion of a certain hue of custom cross, is directly offensive to them, and to the rest of the -scape- community, irregardless of our individual orientation. In sharing an affinity for bands and music, those things are unimportant, and constantly throwing it out there's bound to and does make the majority pretty uncomfortable.

You'll notice we don't have a "STRAIGHT PRIDE" or "BI PRIDE" cross either. Who you do your things with is really unimportant, and I'm not putting up crosses for people to advertise it to the world. And that's that.

And the funny part is that a straight pride title would also be viewed as homophobic and prejudice. Because being proud of being gay asserts individuality and "tolerance", but asserting pride in benig straight makes you an intolerant bigot who hates gays. ::kisaki::

Which is why it's stupid to even get into the issue. This is a music forum. The only time sexuality should be an issue is when you want to start romancin' someone. And that sort of thing can be kept to PM, thank you very much. ::meev::

i don't really see why you need those banners at all. like navate said, its a music forum. if you have a gay pride thingy...you might as well have a straight, bi, trans, etc ones. and then we could just divide everyone up into nationalites...its not "HOMOPHOBIC and PREJUDICED". There are other forums for things like that. Lejun and the mods just want to keep this forum mainly about music, and allowing other topics to be discussed (like religion and other touchy subjects the incite arguments) takes away from the forum. And let's just be clear, you don't speak for every gay person on this forum.

Can I please bold, italicize, capitalize and spray paint that in huge rainbow letters? You're not the GLBT spokesman of the forum, CookieMoses, and I'd shoot myself if you were. No one here is being prejudiced or homophobic, and no one's trying to provoke or be confrontational except you. :|
Get over yourself, please- you're an intelligent guy, so why do you keep on instigating stuff like this?

I agree with Navate and Minagoroshi- I was under the impression that this was a music forum, not a sexuality pride debate. No one cares who you screw, who I screw, or who anyone else screws. Why start this when you haven't been provoked?
