(I should visit the Polls section more often; it's interesting! ^^)
@ Reine: aha, so you're a useful fan! ^_^
I've never written a fanmail.
I dunno why really.
Probably because my brain says that the artist probably wouldn't read it - they probably have a secretary who checks their fanmail, and only passes something on to the artist themself if it's particularly interesting or entertaining.
And if they did read their own fanmail, they'd never notice mine among all the thousands of others, anyway.
I can't think of anything to say that isn't obvious and hasn't been said a million times already. :/
I actually have done something, in the past - I sent a letter to Daishi at the beginning of all that problems. I didn't count it as 'fanmail', though, and I never entertained any thought that he'd actually read it - I expect some agent just counts all the letters or something. But I kind of... had to. I couldn't write Japanese back then, so I made it extremely short, simple and to the point.
I also sent an email to Aikaryu's record company address after their accident - again, very short and basic, but I figured it's at times like that when you really need to feel the sheer volume of support.
I guess maybe you could count the last 2 as 'fanmail'? :/
