oh shit, why'd you have to ask this question? Dx

I'm a pussy and I'm just going to list my favourite song of all time.

Last Hallucination by Schwarz Stein. I use this song to make me happy, to feel sad, etc. It just holds a plethora of emotions to me.

I'll get back to you after I'm done searching my collection. >_<

In alphabetical, not numerical order:
1. The Aints - Ascension
2. The Birthday Party - Junkyard
3. Boris - Smile
4. Einstürzende Neubauten - Haus der Lüge
5. Haunted Henschel - 88-92 (The Worst)
6. Rowland S. Howard - Teenage Snuff Film
7. Iron Maiden - Iron Maiden
8. Ed Kuepper - Black Ticket Day
9. Laughing Clowns - Ghosts of an Ideal Wife
10. Malice Mizer - Tetsu's Last Live (If this isn't allowed because it's a bootleg, I'll go with Memoire)
11. Mayhem - Live in Leipzig
12. Megadeth - Killing is my Business... and Business is Good!
13. Pink Floyd - The Piper at the Gates of Dawn
14. Ramones - It's Alive
15. Shizuka - Live/Traditional Aesthetics
16. Sigh - Imaginary Sonicscape
17. Sonic Youth - Daydream Nation
18. Television - Marquee Moon
19. These Immortal Souls - Get Lost (Don't Lie!)
20. The Verlaines - You're Just Too Obscure For Me

Maybe something like that. There are a few albums, such as In the Court of the Crimson King by King Crimson and Neu!75 by Neu! which could move up there. And I refrained from putting more than one per artist, otherwise Boris, and Sonic Youth, among others would have a few on there.

Bjork - "Medúlla"
It's her masterpiece in my opinion. All the songs are made entirely from the human voice, except for one with a piano and another with a gong. Everyone should listen to this album, it's got such a distinct feeling to it.

Oceania :

Moi dix Mois - "Dixanadu"
Moi dix Mois' best and most solid album for me. It's a culmination of all the great things in the previous albums.

KUKL - "Holidays in Europe"
Nightmareish gothic punk music. I love the use of the instruments on this album and Bjork's voice is frightening.

France (A Mutual Thrill) :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gxEChLdhmn0

Siouxsie and the Banshees - "Juju"
The drums definitely make this album for me. Honestly I don't like music that's guitar orientated but this is so good.

Into the Light :

Nico - "Camera Obscura" or "The End..."
Such a shame she died before she could make her next album, I loved her style in her final years. People don't seem to like her voice though.

-Malice Mizer - Bara no Seidô
-Közi - Catharsis (I could die while listening to it)
-Rammstein - Mutter (after this album Rammstein stopped being interesting, IMO).
-Nirvana - MTV Unplugged in New York (also, my first CD that I bought with my own money, lol)
-Pride of Mind - Systems of Romance
-Christian Death - Only theatre of pain
-System of a Down - Toxicity (this album got me into metal music)
-System of a Down - Steal this Album (I love every single track in this album)
-Tamtrum - Elektronik Blakc Mess
-Erina Mano - Friends (just been out for a little more than a month but it's already on my list).
-Versailles - Prince & Princess single (because in Versailles' albums there's always one track that bores me to hell. This is the only release I have enjoyed by every single track).
-Moi dix Mois - DIXANADU (not because of the music, but because it brings me some kind of melancholy when I listen to it)
-DIR EN GREY - Vulgar
-Another Cell
-X Japan - Vanishing Vision
-ZIGZO - Monster Music

No particular order :)

I started a thread like this in 2008 (click), so I'm just going to copy/paste my list from back then with just a couple adjustments, because it's really hard to narrow it down to a list this size when I've been listening to music seriously for 20+ years.

(I decided to make it a top 20 list, and I tried to keep it to just one album per artist.)

The Cure - Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me
The Smiths - The Smiths
Natacha Atlas - Halim
Modest Mouse - This is a Long Drive For Someone With Nothing To Think About
Kozi - Katharsis
Malice Mizer - Bara no Seidou
Metallica - ...And Justice for All
The Misfits - Walk Among Us
Christian Death - Only Theater of Pain
The Sugarcubes - Life's Too Good
Deee-Lite - Dewdrops in the Garden
Anthrax - Sound of White Noise
Duran Duran - Rio
GWAR - America Must Be Destroyed
Arcadia - So Red the Rose
Faith No More - Angel Dust
Fear of God - Within the Veil
My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult - Confessions of a Knife
Sinead O'Connor - The Lion and the Cobra
Underworld - Second Toughest in the Infants

I found Life's Too Good disappointing. I bought KUKL's Holidays in Europe a few months ago, and I still haven't listened to it. Seeing it so highly rated, I guess I'll listen to it tonight.

globe - "Relation" "Outernet"

MALICE MIZER - "Bara no Seido" "Merveilles"
Glenn Gould - "Goldberg Variations by Bach" (Best thing to ever exist on earth)

I admit I have kind of weird taste sometimes, but here goes:

D - Paradox
E Nomine - Das Beste Aus... Gottes Beitrag Und Teufels Werk (I think that's the right name?)
E-Type - Eurotopia
Five Finger Death Punch - The Way of the Fist
Hime Trance 2
Hora - Inner Universe
Kaya - Glitter
Killswitch Engage - As Daylight Dies
Malice Mizer - Merveilles
Metallica - ...And Justice For All
Nightwish - Once
Sarah Brightman - La Luna
Schwarz Stein - New vogue children
Super Eurobeat 170
Three Days Grace - One X
Within Temptation - The Heart of Everything

I like pretty much everything by Kaya/Hora/Schwarz Stein/Another Cell, and also pretty much everything by Sarah Brightman and Malice Mizer, but I limited it as much as I could. XD I really, really would love to find more music like E Nomine but I keep coming up emptyhanded. =(

If we can include soundtracks in this list, there's also:

Andrew Lloyd Webber's Requiem
Cats (Original Australian Cast)
Cats (Original Vienna Cast)
Les Miserables (Symphonic Recording)
Nightmare Before Christmas
Om Shanti Om
Phantom of the Opera (Original London Cast)
Repo! The Genetic Opera

I may update the list later. There's a few other things I would like to include that I can't remember the exact name of right now.

Fear Factory - Demanufacture

if all music would be vaporized into nothing and i could keep just ONE album, it would be that one. It has been my fave for over 10 years and i bet it will be for the rest of my life.

This is really hard, but a few favorites are
Malice Mizer - Bara No Seidou
Akercocke - Words That Go Unspoken, Deeds That Go Undone
Shining - Halmstad
Dark Funeral - Diabolis Interium
Aesthetic Perfection - A Violent Emotion
By Night - Burn The Flags

Can probably write down 100 more if I think for a while, but this is enough

Lemme see...

Marilyn Manson - Antichrist Superstar
Without this, I wouldnt use my brain and I would have never given music a second glance.
Malice Mizer - Bara no Seidou
Need I explain?
Bjork - Vespertine
If theres one album I dislike by Bjork, its Medulla. Its well constructed, but I find it quite boring (I've never listened to any of the songs the entire way through). However, Vespertine is one of the most beautiful pieces of art I've ever heard.
Velvet Eden - Street of Alice
Couldn't stand Dada till the beginning of last year. Now I don't know how I didn't live without him and Kalm.
Kaya - Glitter (2008 edition)
One of the most beautiful and versatile vocalists in the VK scene, not to mention his lyrics are so saddening and melancholic. One of his songs can change my whole mood instantly.
Schwarz Stein - New Vogue Children
Same as above, but I think they both brought something new and exciting to the Darkwave scene ^^ Hora and Kaya were a great team and its a shame they had to part after 2 albums.
GPKISM - Sublimis
Ken's one of my favourite vocalists and although his compositions weren't as elaborate and 'better' constructed he's grown as an artist. Like SS, he has brought something new to the Darkwave scene.
Blam Honey - Grandiose Delusion
Okay, I've been repeating 'they brought something new to x scene' but these guys actually BROUGHT the Industrial scene to Japan, not to mention influenced a lot of artists present in the Goth scene in Japan. Their sound is incredibly raw but at the same time romantic. Love them.

Other mentions:

Lady Gaga - The Fame Monster
Pretty much every other album by Malice Mizer
Noir du'Soleil - Into the Sky
Versailles - Noble
Velvet Eden - Ningyou Shoukan
Bjork - Post
D - Genetic World
Marilyn Manson - Mechanical Animals

Miyavi and Lareine...although they are in my top favorite artists....I can't really say that I'm a huge fan of any album in particular because I think i enjoy the singles more
