btw, why did gackt want to be in a video game? was it the money?

I read an interview with Tetsuya Nomura and he said that Square-Enix's staff people like Gackt. So, i think Gackt accepted because he likes FF (and games, didn't he say he had like...4 psx?) and because of the money , of course. No one works for free. ::meev::
Yeah, it's so, and don't forget that he was the model for Squall of FF VIII, too. It's a old love, not only for money, altough it is clearly important. But not only "money who goes to Gackt", also "money who goes to square-enix having Gackt as a model" :P

I think Mana would be in a Castlevania game before ANY FF title... but that may just be me XD!

Hey, it wasn't Gackt to say "I WANT to be in FF", they have asked him to do that and he agreed.
If Mana goes to an Anime Expo where is the problem with Gackt in FF? XDDD

As much as Im starting to dislike Gackt, I dont think he did it mainly for the money.

One, because, hardly to people in the videogame buisness get paid alot. He probably got thousands, not millions or anywhere near a million dollars to do it. Id say not even triple digit thousands. (like, not even 100,000.) Less than that even.

I think they're milking VII because it had the most vivid (And important) cast, while the others had......characters..that did stuff.

Seriously. It wasn't that great. I think why most people love it so much is because it was the next generation of the series. It's the first FF to use full motion video and the characters weren't sprites anymore. The stories are always good, and with the advancement in graphics...

But Squarewhatevertheycallthemselvesnow is fond of milking games anyway. I mean, X-2 was big money making scheme. And it barely worked. So, how are these knockoffs gonna get over? ::meev::

Fond of milking games?? You make it sound like they've been doing this for years and years. This is (unfortunately) a new developement for Square Enix. There have been only a few spin-offs and related games: FF Tactics, Mystic Quest, Chrystal Chronicles, Chocobo Racing, and Kingdom Hearts.
FF games have always been independent from one another until Final Fantasy X. And X-2 is only 3 years old. But with 7, there are now five more games and a movie. (Will this be the end?) And with FF XIII, there will be 3 games.
Maybe the series should end. I love it, but I would rather it end on a high note than it be run into the ground.

On the topic of Gackt in videogames..has anyone heard or played Bujingai for the PS2? The character is modeled after Gackt, plus you can unlock special Gackt movies and interviews along the way.

I LOVE that game, the moves are a real spectacle!!! I have the Pal version so Lau's voice is not Gackt's but the various "Ah!! oooh" Yaaa" are all his X3 And at a certain point you can play with another style: Gackt's original style!!!

Will be interesting to see Sephy as a hero rather then a villain.

Can barely imagine him being nice to Cloud, I mean he slaps Cloud in AC. hmmm...

I wouldnt recommend the game, at least buy it used for 7 bucks. He doesnt TALK in the game..he just kinda grunts and such XD. Although the gackt-related movies you can unlock make the game well worth playing through, it has almost no replay value whatsoever. Too flourecent, too bright, and ENTIRELY too much Bad-Kung-Fu-Movie acting.

Although it's good for eyecandy if you're as much of a gackt fangirl as me XD

But even I would only buy the game used. ^^; and i think the guy who sold it to me screwed up, because I got two in one package

I dont agree. Whether I like Gackt or not, the gameplay is pretty good. Its pretty much the only action game that allows you to run on any wall, and have clashing sword battles. Sure, its not done perfectly, but it has serious potential. The battle system is pretty good, even compared to the Devil May Cry series.

The story does suck though.

The gameplay was one of the things I actually did like about the game, the story itself and the acting was just a SERIOUS turn-off. When I think of what makes a game replayable, the story and acting (if there are voice actors) are always a big part of it...though a lot of people play-through games again because of the gameplay part of it.

If the story flops but the rest is still good, i'll give it a few more chances, but if both the story and the voice acting grate on my nerves terribly... chances are i'll only pop in the disc to watch the bonus features I unlocked. x.x

And I loved Devil May Cry <3 I still need to beat whichever sequel of it I have but didnt get to (A new tekken or final fantasy had come out and distracted me, so i never got to play DMC 2 (I THINK that's the one) )

Bujingai is fun, but so horribly repetitive. =A=

I liked to make Lau jump off . . . er, "fly off" the platforms in the Sky stage.
