I think we need a new rule.

Why would we need a third mod? I think they do a perfectly good job. I don't doubt their ability to hold it down on their own.

I propose we do away with mods and settle all personal disputes in a post-apocalyptic combat arena. I trust you won't break the rules... there are none!

You know the law! THIS IS THUNDERDOME!!

I support this rule fully. Bring me spiked weaponry!

Aw, Orchid, such kind words. <3

I don't think we need a third mod. Only if the forum becomes substaintally more active/larger and neither of us can keep up with it on our own. I know for my part, the lack of being on point was entirely laziness/frustration rather than lack of time.

Edit: And here we are:

I TOTALLY missed something, which is awesome.

*shrug* I dunno; I think the forum had its own set of shortcomings "back in the day", too, so to say standards have slipped is a bit unintentionally dishonest. A third mod wouldn't be TOO bad of an idea, as it could be done on a trial basis... but navate and flowers shouldn't be too hard on themselves.

^ I missed quite a bit myself, it seems (the one time I get separated from my computer....), but I think Orchid defended my point quite well. :)

Like I said, I think the crowd is different because the standards have slipped. Anyway, it's good to see that you're trying to address the problem. :)

As this thread (and the comments by former forum members that I forwarded to the mods back in October) shows, many people do feel that the standards have slipped. Perhaps you don't share this perception but to call all these people unintentionally dishonest sounds a bit patronising.

If it sounded patronizing I apologize; that was not my intent. But communities are elastic, and I was just chiming in to provide a slightly dissenting opinion. Again, there were bits of "ye olde schoole" I didn't particularly enjoy, but you take the bad with the good and hope the balance is more toward good.

I have to admit I'm intrigued as to comments from former members. If they could be reworded and rendered anonymous it might be interesting to see where we could improve.

I only suggested a third mod because i think if i were a moderator of a forum with this meny members, i would want more then one person to help me. it seems like you guys have to always be on this site, people break the rules all the time. usually not on purpose, but they still need to be reminded of the rules. i know i do sometimes. ::bleh::

I think the forums are fine how they are now. I suppose, some things do need to be worked on but really compared to other J-music related forums, -scape- is a dandy place to be ;)

agreed.
There aren't many annoying things around here- Meaning: Not very much, if any, fangirl/fanboying.
We don't obsess like "OMG HES SO SEXY" (though that sometimes happens XD) we have nice debates and chats about what's going on and what we like and why. And while we sometimes get into fights, flaming isn't THAT big of a deal here.
Also, we're not too small, but small enough that most people know everyone else by a cirtain point.
And mostly, when news comes out, it's based on ACTUAL sources, not random people saying this or that or the other thing
All in all I think this is a great forum. One of the best of the J-music type.

But that's just me =)

The best way to get someone to stop jibing at you is to ignore them. There are plenty of places outside of -scape- where things are worse. You all know that. IMO scape is pretty cool. No forum is perfect, and you have to learn how to work around that.

Just because other members might not be the brightest tool in the shed or the most respectful shouldn't stop you from sharing your opinions with people who can have good arguments.

funny to see that this topic was first about how terrible it was and now ppl are looking at the bright side of this forum.

anyway

i don't have much to say, but, this is by far my fave forum. Not just because it's about Malice Mizer & Co. but also because of the usually good enviroment (sorry for possibly mispelling that).

What i'd like to say is that everywere, both on internet and in real life, every place has it's problems about misbehaving people.

I used to post here a lot, but i found myself not really fitting here with all the people (i had some ''flaming duscussions'' myself i must admid ^_^"). But that didn't once gave me the idea that this is a crappy place, since this place is FULL of info about the past, precent and future of j-rock.

ppl, just ignore any bad stuff, don't lower yourself to the lvl of those ''bad ppl'' ;)
just have fun with the things that are good ^^
there are SO many other member who are nice.
and besides, a forum is made for people who like to discuss, it has been said once but i'll say it again, get into a discussion with those who are ''bad'' or just leave it ^^

..propably no one understands what i'm trying to say.. but that's okay XD

*edit: i guess i did have much to say ^^
