i think it's Kozi influenced.

I mean, you can't say it's not, because you never know. Its not like we've heard all of the things kozi wants to do.

^ Of course, but when you listen to the stuff that Kozi has, this doesn't bare any resemblance to that work. What makes you think that it is Kozi influenced?

Because I'm sure Kozis capability or (especially) his artistic aspirations aren't limited to what we've already heard from him. Also the statement that it bares no resemblence to his past works is a matter of opinion.

And of course because he played guitar in the song. ::kozi::

D: Take that back! I feel almost wounded by this association, as I can honestly say I love the entirety of their disco save for perhaps one song. Yes, even some of the cheesy sounding things. ((Disclaimer: I am not entirely serious. I am unable to see how the two can be related in any way stylistically, though. Care to expand on that for me? o.O Because the two sound absolutely nothing alike to me.))

Anyway, I gave it a listen since dear Kozi was involved. I can't say I'm terribly fond of it. But, meh, who knows? It might grow on me at some point... but as of the moment, I am unimpressed. Not sure if it will survive the next playlist cut, either. :/ YMMV, though.

Well, you can't really say "I think it's Kozi influenced because he could do this type of song". When you're comparing those things people in general normally compare it to their past works. And I don't think that this sounds like that, so therefore I assume it's not Kozi influenced.

My point wasn't that that is why I think it IS Kozi influenced, I guess, so I replied wrongly. It was more of why it's weird to say it isn't.

Basically I was saying "I think it's probably kozi influenced because he did do this kind of song" he might not have written it, i don't know the proccesses they used, but kozi played it.

while that may be true for you, it still doesn't mean that something isn't influenced by a certain person because it doesn't bare resemblence to their previous work.

Why I think it's Kozi influenced is because it probably was. :| If I wanted to explain any further I'm sure it'd be delving into what is considered 'influencing' a piece of music, but I'll just say it doesn't take much to influence something, by my definition of the word. even a small suggestion that the artist considers and uses is an influence. If I wanted to be completely irritating i could say kozi is the one playing the guitar and so his hands are directly influencing the music. xDD

@Cally: I feel similar woundedness, but for the opposite reason. xD I can't stand buck-tick and I think this is miles better than anything they've ever done.

I really don't think it is weird to say that actually, people talk about influences in sound all the time :/ But okay.

I'm going to agree with Amatsu and say that it's Közi influenced. If you don't think it sounds like something he's composed then you need to remember things he's made that sound nothing like what a typical "közi" you would think would sound like-

who's mind
seraph
cruel arcadia

ext

he's capable of composing a lot of different sounds

just because he is capable of composing different kinds of songs, does not mean he had direct or most of the influence in this song. The song was composed by Mako afterall, i think it is completly normal for it to sound like this and not related to any kozi work. Kozi is just a support musician in this song.

well duh, I never said they didn't. xD that sentence didn't have any relevance to what I was talking about beyond the word "influence". :/

Fighting about what sounds like what and such doesn't get you anywhere...
people have different opinions... and they are free to think whatever they want.

It's just interesting to read your thoughts about the song though...
Since I haven't listened to it yet. (by my own free will)

I will probably contribute with a different opinion about the sound once I get the chance.
Because everyone associate things differently from one another. Right?

No one is fighting.

I don't know if you know this but forums are meant for discussions based on the topic of the thread, which we're having.

I said that because you're saying it's weird that I said the song doesn't sound influenced by Kozi when it's not a weird thing to say. :)

Basically, if this song has any influences by Kozi, you can't really pick that up JUST by listening to it. Know what I mean?

I just don't see the point in discussing the fact if Kozi ACTUALLY had any influence on the song. That's pointless to discuss. It doesn't sound like it was Kozi influenced, therefore I'm assuming it wasn't. Easy :).

!

Finally recieved the book and cd this morning!

And I must say, the book features some really nice pictures.
The book can be seen much like an artwork itself.
Somewhat it feels a bit sad. Because maybe this is Mako's last goodbye!

BUT... at the same time I sense some sort of light in the end of the tunnel. What can seem to be an end can be the begining...
So let's which for more Mako in the nearest future.

It was joyful to see his 2 cats on picture with him. I have always wanted to see his cats.. *cat-crazy*
Also, the song, at first in the verses he doesn't sound like the Mako we are used to. But the song is really nice, it takes a couple of times to get used to it, but then it's suddenly trapped in your head.

Over all, this book gives a new perspective on Mako. Even if Deadman lyrics was featured in the book, this doesn't feel like Deadman, it feels like something new and it shows a different side of Mako. And I actually like it...

Wah this post is getting long...
I probably didn't contribute with anything interesting anyway..
