It makes no sense that he would use someone we already knew of. Seriously.
Yeah, with the exception of Klaha, every vocalist Mana has ever recruited for anything has been some unknown amateur or really, really, really indies performer. Which makes sense, as I doubt he'd want to be upstaged (or "co-staged") in his own solo project. I'm sure this new vocalist will also be someone unknown or little-known.

Not that there is a need to compare his voice to any other... but to be honest, the first thing I thought is he has Tetsu qualities to his vocals. Weird.

I like the clip and I like the vocals so far from what I can hear.

I am still convinced that it is Seiji.....
I just listened to Hizaki's MIZERABLE and then I listened to the Moi dix Mois sample and they have the same style voice.
Either way I like it alot! But the only thing that is bothering me is the drums....they sound so .....electronic....but whatever! Its Moi dix Mois ::dix::

Mana did mention he was going to start using electronic elements in his songs. However, Tohru is also crazily precise (everyone thought it was a drum machine on dix Infernal, and it wasn't; Tohru is just that awesome). So it's probably Tohru using electronic drumming or somesuch. If you can judge such things from the clips... which I personally can't. The quality is too low to really make out much.

The drums sound kinda like the ones on Dialogue Symphonie. So.. I think they're Tohru. I've heard many many drum machines, since I'm into extreme metal, and I don't think that those sound anything like a drum machine, except for the fact that the snare sounds non-echoey.

Alot of people thought that Mana was using a drum machine, but if you listen to Gloire Dans Le Silence, you can hear how he wasn't 'powered up' enough to keep up with the blastbeat as well as he did on Shadows Temple. Plus, his drums make more than one sound.

Plus, if Mana were using a drum machine, I think he'd do more crazy things with it, and each bar wouldn't have as many fills. And.. On the DVDs he can drum that fast.

tohru isn't THAT awesome ;)

he makes mistakes as well, i can hear clearly at let's say Unmoved on the DVD

anyway
the drums aren't thát fast, so for a skilled drummer it's not difficult to drum that piece of music perfect (the new sample thingy)

in fact
i thought that i could be faster (the rolls that is)

anyway
the drums are fine, it's double bass-ish, and i like that a LOT :p
it's just a bit of a different sound because he might've used a different drumkit, or it's differentyl recorded

and yes, the bad quality of the sample distorts the sample

if you ask me it's just tohru there :p

I just listened to Unmoved, couldn't find any mistakes or anything. o_o

EDIT: His mistakes were at The Prophet.

the first part after the melodic part of the song
which is also the final part of the whole song

he has to do short pieces of double bass there, which he doesn't do very well

it's only that part of the song

*starts scanning prophet for mistakes*

other than mana's bad songwriting for drums, i can't hear tohru making any mistakes himself on the Prophet :p

Tohru's drumming took time to become adjusted to. I like it much more now because in the begining, I wasn't really expecting harder metal and I was not used to drums being so loud. He was *painfully* off beat in Gloria dans la Silence *sp* and a bit in Distresse *sp* on Dix Infernal, but on the live Scars of Sabbath DVD, he performance was much better. I couldn't hear many flaws. Yes, he was off beat on The Prophet live, but my problem with him in that concert was more his appearance then his drumming. Everyone has problems with thier instruments at times. Guitarists/bassists/vocalists hit the wrong note, the drummer hits the wrong drums, anyonr can loose the timing, and as long as they get it back, which Tohru did, it's easy to overlook. (I'm a drummer, so it's what I always listen for.)

I really like the way the drums sound =) The song screams "Castlevania Battle Theme" to me, though (not a bad thing at all, I love the progression of the organ, it's a better organ synth sound then I've heard from Moi dix Mois before)

i think that maybe the off beat drumming in Glorie dans le silence was intentional. It wouldn't be like Mana to overlook something as blatently obvious as that.

But they fixed it in the concert, it wasn't like it there ^^;

hmm. i guess it could have been a mess up in recording/mixing etc etc.

*back on topic* does anyone besides me think that the whispering in the beggining of the clip sounds english?

oh well, every performer makes a mistake or two during lives
afterall, they's only human :p (i think..)

the voice, hmm
it reminds me a LOT of shadows temple X
it indeed doesn't sound very japanese to me
and yes now that it's mentioned, the organ does sound very good
i certainly hope he won't use those awefull organs he used in sons like Front et Baiser, those organs belong in a american football game, not in a Moi Dix Mois song :p

and my avatar isn't new ;)
time to time i just switch between my mana pics ^__^
