I'd learned my lesson, and next time I ordered with priority shipping, which saved me some days and was only $8 anyway.
hm... well LA is a bit farther away from them than I am, but not by much. Maybe I've just been lucky whenever I order from them... which actually isn't very much since it involves convincing my parents I want to borrow their credit to spend $30 on a cd (they were shocked with the $80 singles collection)... I'm so lame :P

I know this is a bad question, but I need a good answer: Is the La Collection des Singles really worth it? :)

That depends. It wasn't really worth it to me I guess. I own all the original singles and I owned verte aile VHS. And even though it is now on DVD, I don't see myself watching it too many more times than I already have.

If you don't own the singles it is great, because you get the B-sides and some of them are really good.

The packaging is nice and fun as well.

If you were to buy verte aile VHS that would be about $30-$40. If you were to buy each individual single, that would be about $40-$60. So the price is definitely not as expensive as it seems.

I say it is worth it if you don't own anything the release consists of.

I FINALLY got to open mine. (It was a birthday gift).

I dunno if it was worth the price completely, but I'm totally not regretting it. I've got this music box fetish, though, so it might just be me. I need to figure out to how to watch the move, which I've already seen anyway, and the CD is nice though since I don't own any of the singles... and the photobook is super-pretty.

Thanks for the head-up on YesAsia, Ama! I've never shopped there before simply because CDJapan has more stuff, but I think I'll head over there for my Chirstmas shopping since I'm getting mostly old stuff with no extras in mind. :] Free shipping. Wow! XD

speaking of figuring out how to watch the movie... I recall someone mentioning you can change the settings on a dvd drive to play different regions... can anyone enlighten me further on this? *is such a failure >.>*

for me, the singles collection was definitely worth it. I don't own any of the singles, so my only problem with the cd is merveilles rehash... although that actually hasn't bothered me once since I got it. The music box rocks, the photos are pretty, and I'm sure the dvd will be cool once I get to watch it...

Well, if you have never played a region 2 DVD on your rom, it should play it automatically.

Most DVD roms allow you to switch the region 5 times before it locks. So, you started playing R1 and then now you play an R2 and it should say "you have 4 switches left" or something like that.

If not, it may already be locked. You can try searching for "dvd rom region crack" on google. And look to see if there is an available crack for the specific player you have.

I am so stupid... I thought about just sticking it in and to see what happens and then completely forgot :P

but only 5 times? damn, this is going to be a nuisance (how I would simply love an all region dvd player.... or a hacked ps2)

Well, you could buy a gameshark or region X thingy for your PS2 and that should allow you to watch R2 any time you want.

Also, do what I suggested. You can look around and see if there is a hack for your DVD rom. So you can watch R1 and R2 anytime you want without it locking to one region.

Yes, you can get them from Amazon.co.jp, or if your computer plays DVDs you can most likley play it from there.

Another alternative is, if you already have a DVD player and want to make it region free (you'll be able to play DVD's from EVERY country)

http://videohelp.com/dvdhacks

Search for your DVD players model and it'll tell you if you can make it region free, also it'll give instructions on how to do so.
