I have one too for some years now. I met many interesting people, and I agree, there are many bandmen with strange icons (like cat, dog etc. icons) who like spying the fans....
And it's a good way to keep in touch with Japanese friends and practice Japanese. So I'm PRO SNS

No, it is for Japanese-speaking people who reside in Japan.
I'm wondering if your post isn't a joke though...

That's what she said basically. Just with double negatives. It's NOT for NON-Japanese-speaking people, meaning that it IS for Japanese-speaking folks.

I think he meant that it's not for Japanese people only, which might not be what she meant, but "non-japanese" includes fluent gaijin in japan, technically.

I think the assumption is that there aren't any foreigners in Japan who can read Japanese ::kisaki::
Or if they do, that they won't have enough money to get a phone and buy a computer because they are Chinese temp student workers

Yeah, sure, okay. If I can find you. ::meev::

I kind of want to delete my account, but I don't know how. And I think I might regret it after I start taking Japanese. :|

Mostly I just use mixi to practice my Japanese, which is hard lately, since I haven't really used any Japanese in, like, three months. Sometimes I use it to keep in touch with one of my friends from Japan, but that's not very often, since I have a hard time reading her journals.
