There's definitely strong points to the album that stand out more than filler tracks would, to me. I think Gerbera is my favorite of the singles, and luckily I didn't listen to it when it came out. I hadn't given it a formal listen until the album came out actually. Risky Drive is just awesome though. xD

RESKEEEHHH DRAIIIIVE.

Maybe I just don't like the repartition of the songs, or FOUR singles being on the album. My favorite songs are the three first (including the intro). I really enjoy this album but it'll have to grow on me.

Hm, well it may be four singles but there's a total of sixteen tracks if you got the one with the bonus CD. GMC is one of my fave songs, definitely. It's so damn metal. :|

I really want to see their setlists after that. Is anyone able to find any?
Also.. is there a way to change the thread's name? It'd be nice to have an offical mucc thread without such a name XD.

Hm, setlists after what? I'm confused. xD

Since you started the thread, go to the first post and hit "Edit" or whatever. And change the name/subject! I believe that should work

The setlists for the concerts. I hope they'll only use a few songs. For their early 2006 + extras tour they played songs from their whole discography, so that it would be more fun and trashy for them, and so they could do 2days. It was really good and trashy.

XD I know I made the horrible title.

I'd say they're a pretty diverse band, ranging from metal, to punk, to folk, to funk or ska. It's great how they always change it up. Simply put, MUCC is MUCC.

I know only a few gamers will understand this, but trying to explain MUCC to someone is like trying to explain Zelda. It just is.

There were alot of americans with this " oh haha another japanese band " for the mucc shows in america, but in the end they were saying "wow, this is one of the most diverse band I've heard, and they were suceeding at it, too! " Yeah, something along those lines.

uh...good? ::kisaki::

They used to be ero-guro but last I checked they were shedding their visuals a bit... I don't keep up with scans well these days though.

Their sound is heavy rock on the surface, I suppose, but they explore a lot of different sounds. Vocalist Tatsurou has a very interesting voice, sort of along the tone of Merry's Gara (which is no coincidence imo; they're good friends)--a little warbly and mellow sounding, but powerful. Tatsurou's much more smooth and less raspy than Gara. Not that it helps, unless you listen to Merry. XD

What draws me most of them is how cohesive they are. Only four guys--one guitarist--yet they sound really "solid" and powerful together. MUCC is one of the few bands in which the music itself catches my attention just as much as the vocals. They're just a good, solid band.

I don't want to argue, I pretty much agree, but during the interview we had with MUCC at Otakon, they have claimed to never understand why people put them under the "ero-guro" label, and the leader (Miya) also said " We are still a visual band " when asked questions to their "change of style " I feel like there's a soul to true visual sometimes, but maybe that's just me XD.

To me / how it seems to be generally accepted: ero-guro is the visual style that incorperates suits, tuxedos, Japanese school uniforms (in Yukke's case) with...well, "guro" elements such as blood or smeared makeup. That grungey zombie look with "formal" clothing. And that's how MUCC used to dress, so I can see the relation.

But all of those sub-genres of visual-kei are so shabbily defined. I think most of the bands just do what they want and the media labels them later. So, no worries; I won't argue because I don't think there's much of a point to argue in the first place, hahah. :)

Edit: And I have no idea what they're looking like these days, but that lasts I saw had them dressed very normally with no makeup, so I assumed they were schucking their visuals. What are they doing now?

Is there a way I can put up pictures on here? I'm not used to boards. I'll edit this post with a few pictures if there's a way ^^.

Upload them to an external host like Photobucket or whatnot, and then post them with an image tag. ( "img" with brackets)

Am I making sense? My brain is garbled from printing chemicals. ::kozi::

and finally.. Party concerts! haha. :

They're on the bottom left if you can't guess. Yukke is dressed as "Yuketsuko", his..female counterpart XD it seems she got her hair cut! (it's a wig, but it used to be longer.) He has said to have the need to do this everymonth and let the band do what they want to him.. haha, they're pure dorks. Some of their interviews are really not suitable for this board XD.

Hey thanks a lot for those pictures ^^

Yup I find it really hard to describe their style as well ... A music magazine here in Germany sorted them into the category "Grunge" but in one way that makes sense in the other not.. Mucc is for me one band, where it is absolutely impossible to tell which style of music they belong to.

All I know is that Tatsurou's voice really crawls under my skin and moves me a lot ... I have to the concert in May in Berlin .. and that live.. it was absolutely amazing .. except those people in the first rows who could not really behave.. I was standing way back and had a nice view and still could here everything ^^

But anyway.. their look has become more "natural" those days .. It has changed as their music has.. They are experimenting [??] a lot these days.. once their sound becomes more like pop and now 'gokusai' sounds like back to the old days... So yeah .. but no matter what.. I still get goosebumps when I listen to their music ^^

MUCC has some good tunes, I've only heard Zekku and a few songs before it but Tatsurou has a great voice I think.

My friend is a big crazy super hardcore MUCC fan, he goes into fanboy mode whenever they're brought up.

I have yet to see a Gazette look that really ditches visuals.

I have to agree with Pierrot. Gazette tones down here and there, but they never disappear. Sometimes they're just heavier than other times.

Great pics!

The first one you posted is their look for Gokusai.

I finally got Gokusai. Ha. This album makes me smile. Sometimes it's hard (awesome!) and sometimes it's soft/weird (awesome! ... but track #13...) and it's always just MUCC. I loved the singles when they came out. I'm so happy to have bought this!

Haven't gotten to the bonus CD yet. Ah yes, I got the bonus CD version. I wanted the bonus CD version of Houyoku as well, but it ran out before I could afford it (I ended up with the bonus DVD version, oddly enough). This time... PRE-ORDERED!

Well I only ordered the Horizonto single ... the normal and the limited edition .. I'll hope it will eventually arrive because I have to go over a shop here in Leipzig, since I don't have a credit card to order from CDJapan directly .....

But I like Gokusai .. the 5th track is my favourite one for the moment ^^
