I have never heard of people wearing sandals in the shower  I never use public showers anyway but I think it would be good to wear them. Personally I have never seen anyone wear them in public showers, and I did go swimming a lot when I was younger. I think they take pretty good care of the hygiene here so people don't really worry about those things.

I've NEVER seen anyone wear sandals in the shower, not even in public showers outside (like, beside the beach.).

..I didn't even know people did XD

Otherwise, I second flower's comments. ::kisaki::
How many kids are there per floor/bathroom? Once a week isn't really... clean, I'd say, not with over a dozen people using the showers. ::erm::

I've got a townhouse with just three other girls sharing my bathroom this year, so I can happily go barefoot since we'll be doing the cleaning ourselves. But in a regular dorm cleaned by staff? Hellz no. D: I can't even trust them to keep the toilet paper well-stocked!

Oh! It's one bathroom per suite, so it's just four of us, and each room has its own sink, and there's two people in a room. XD I think there's only one dorm building on campus that has floor-wide bathrooms. They also have a bigger room because of that, but I'd rather sacrifice the extra foot for my own bathroom instead of going down the hall for it. ::meev:: I also think it's an all guys dorm that that's in, so it would be easier for them than it would be for a floor full of girls. XD

^ Well, I guess the reasoning is if you're at the pool or something and they have showers there- would you go barefoot or with flip flops or something. XD

Ummm I have to ask...for people who said yes, what kind of sandals do you wear and where do you get them?

Just buy the cheapest chunky plastic sandals you can find at Foot Locker or whatever. Anything waterproof and sturdy will do.

Well, there are those fisherman sandal/shoes that have started getting popular lately and they've been released in various ugly colors. I can't stop laughing everytime I see someone wearing them.. but that kind of material is really fine, I might have to buy some if I go on a trip and need to stop at a hotel, haha.

^ Crocs? XD I don't like them either. I'm sure your feet get really sweaty in them, and I hate sweaty feet. It's hard for me to wear shoes without socks...

God I HATE CROCS. They're so ugly.

I just have plastic Adidas sandals. One time I accidentally wore my leather sandal in the shower. That was traumatic.

We should have an anti-crocs rally. I despise those shoes. Everyone who wears them claims they're "so comfy"! And yet they're made of plastic which does not let your feet breathe so they must get quite hot and sweaty. Not to mention the ugly factor.

Anyways, I have never worn sandals or any kind in a shower. But I can see the reasoning for high-traffic or dirty public showers. I'll have to remember this for the future.
