I think Mana has stuck with the same general style of vocals since Klaha

I know people have said this before but I totally do not agree with this.

To me, Juka and Seth sound completely different. They don't even have the same style of singing or pitch or anything like that. And neither of them are anything like Klaha.

They're three different people and I don't think any of them have the same style.

I have to agree with Garnet here. Their voices can't be overly alike, 'cause I for one am not too keen on M10M since Seth became vocalist, as I'm not particularly into his voice *dives to avoid getting shot*

I don't think either Juka or Seth can hold a flame to Klaha's voice for it's depth and power/richness/etc, but I also think Juka has a much richer, more beautiful voice than Seth does. Like Garnet pointed out though, they all sing in quite different styles.

Yes, I do think Mana has a liking for that deeper, slightly operatic-style singing voice, a voice that can sound quite 'rich', I dunno...But I think he's managed to find a number of different styles of that in Gackt, Klaha, Juka and Seth.

I think stylistically all of them are all under the same "genre", for lack of better word. They may have different timbres but they generally sound good for this particular type of music. Also, all of their vocals are around the same range - baritone/tenor.

Ok I think I'll step in and talk about vocals here. I agree with both Garnet, GacktsVanilla, and Phantom in different ways.

Klaha, Juka, and Seth all sing in a pseudo-operatic manner. You couldn't really call it straight opera because well...it's not. They keep their timbres natural for the most part, and many aspects of their styles are considerably modern. This style suits Mana's work perfectly though, as a combination of the antique and modern: baroque and rock, yes? For this reason, I don't think Mana will move away from this vocal style.

I do think Mana finds variety within this preferred vocal style. Klaha has a very even vibrato and accurate pitch placement. as well as a lot of lung power. Like it was mentioned before, he has a dark and rich vocal timbre. Juka has more of a round, romantic timbre, and a rather more boyish voice. He also has little experience and a generally untrained voice, and can't really produce natural vibrato (and really doesn't have much range at all, though it's expanded since he was playing with Hizaki). Seth has a lot of experience singing, and has a very mature and worked voice. He can produce very nice natural vibrato and has quite a bit of range too. He tends to use a very light and airy technique.

I think you get even more variety when you consider Tetsu and Gackt, too. Though they all are around a baritenor range, they have varying vocal capability.

I really like what Seth has been doing though; I think his voice is pretty much some of the best stuff I've heard these days in visual kei or goth or whatever you want to call it, but if they had to go in a new direction I'd like more of an opera-leaning man again like Klaha. It'd be interesting with the instrumental sounds of Moi dix Mois.

I don't even know how this discussion relates to the original topic...maybe I shouldn't have encouraged it! ::gaku::

Klaha, being actually classically trained
I'm not sure how this notion got started, but I've never seen any evidence that he was. In fact, if you listen to the available Pride of mind live material, I think it's evidence that he wasn't ;)

Anyway yeah, K and that band. Did anyone listen to the sample clips on their Myspace? I found it pretty boring. Which leads me to another observation: I really wish Mana's band members would spread a little of that dix-influence around.

Yeah I actually had a notion that that wasn't true as I was posting this actually...I think I'll just amend my statement to stop the false information :X

I have to agree with you that this K side project is pretty boring. The world could definitely use the "dix influence". I didn't expect K to be in such a 'normal' type band considering he was in Brain Hacker and is now in ArtCube and Moi dix Mois.

I think you're mixing up K and Seth. But even so, I would have expected him to join some silly metal band and play Slayer covers with "Le Monstre Sanglant" ::k:: Looks like even the wild man of M10M has his boring side ::kisaki::

Is K not Kazune of Brain Hacker and Enme of ArtCube?

From Enme of ArtCube's blog http://artcube00m.mmoh.jp/

There was also some Brain Hacker-related pictures on Enme's blog earlier, but they appear not to exist any longer.

And this is Kazune from Brain Hacker.

Now we have Kazune from Brain Hacker, Enme from ArtCube, and K from Moi dix Mois.

You mean to tell me these are not the same person?

Considering Mana's bandmates are generally people he knew in the past, and he has explicitly stated that he knew Seth in the past, it would make sense that Seth and K were in the same band. Also, I have seen listed "Kazune" as support keyboards for MALICE MIZER, such as here.

They have different birthdays and blood types, and K's been consistent about those in his known bands. And I dunno, they don't look that alike to me besides having their heads buzzed to various degrees XD

Well, it is indeed speculation, but it's pretty convincing if you ask me. I also hardly think a buzzed head is the only similarity but that's all opinion...Besides, who ever said that the birth dates and blood types of visual kei band members are accurate? They don't use their real names, they certainly don't need to use any other real information, especially in the cases of people like K and Seth seem to like to keep their different band identities separate.

If I'm wrong I guess I'm just the general bearer of misinformation today. Oh well, perhaps this can fuel some interesting discussion. ::gaku::

If I remember correctly, before joining M10M K was in Grand Zero and was called Takeru.

No one said they had to be, but K's used the same info for at least 4 bands, both before and after his alleged involvement in Brain Hacker/Art Cube.

And Geisha: yeah, it looks like K was indeed Grand Zero's Takeru:

Same birthday, blood type, towering height, and place of origin.

I've got the exact same react! of course they look alike but M seems to be younger than K as Hikaru said and I don't know if you notice it, but M and K don't have the same hands.... ::shifty::
I think that's also their hairstyle that make them look alike

Yep. the thing is that do look really really alike if u compare the nose, eyes, mouth, faceshape, hair...blah...........but there is something that makes them look different too. and its pretty obvious in my eye, however i cant tell what is it that makes them look different.probably the youth and all.haha.

lol, hand? yea, K has bigger hands?
