I'm scared of heights. Because every time I'm close to an edge of something high, I get this really really strong feeling of wanting to jump out so I can feel what it is like. I don't know. I'm not suicidal :p But the higher it is, the more I want to jump, and I need to hold on to something or step away because I'm so scared of following that impulse.
Eh. So I just stay away from heights. And really wish to go skydiving sometime so I actually can jump out, and maybe will be ok after.

Other than that, I have a phobia for snails and slugs, so bad that I have thrown up or almost fainted just because of the sight of them D:

I'm really scared of heights but I don't have like a WANT to jump, I'm more afraid of my body jumping on it's own, if you know what I mean. XD Like a pull towards the edge.

And you wouldn't want to live in my house... huge slugs crawl under my backdoor almost every night. D:

I loooooooooove snails!!! ::squee:: I used to play with them outside- they were all over my house! Really pretty ones with white shells, too. They're so incredibly cute- I used to save them from the driveway along with all the worms. I love worms, too. XD

I know this is OT but...

I remember when I was little, my friend and I collected snails and put them all in a huge jar ::meev:: She got some warts from all that XD A couple of weeks ago my friend and I were walking in the street and there were SO many snails snailing around, it was cute! I've never seen that many moving around XD

Ew, you like worms? ::erm:: Worms and slugs are weird to me XD

@ Miruku: I totally know the feeling you're talking about; the feeling of wanting to jump. Despite the fact that I am terrified of heights, I've often found myself wondering how it would feel to jump off of a building, cliff, etc. Not in a 'OH GOD I WANT TO KILL MYSELF' way, just in a 'I want to experience the feeling of free fall' kind of way. I often have to step back from ledges, railings, etc. as I get the same feeling as you.

@ Kyu: I LOVE snails, slugs, and worms!! I think they're so cute and I am forever rescuing them from the driveway, sidewalk, etc.

Only the greys?
I used get freaked that they were looking though my windows. This happened always after I saw those UFO specials on Disc., History or NatGEo.

Anyone seen that movie "Alien Abduction: The Macpherson Story" or something like that? It's like recorded in Blair Witch style.

I watched it when I was like 7 years old. The curtains in my bedroom were red and I couldn't stand to look it at because it reminded me of the lazers the aliens had. ::erm::

Also the Blair Witch Project . I watched that when I was very young too and it really scared me and put me into the habit of covering my head with the quilt so that if the witch came after me I wouldn't see her.

as simple as I can put it.
Biggest fear #1, being legally labeled as insane.
#2 being alone (eg. relationship, etc)

I can't help myself from approaching this with the corny, but, I really feel this to be true "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself." -T. Roosevelt. Yeah, I know, I couldn't help myself.

I have an extremely irrational fear of needles. Recently, I have been challenging this, and am beginning to overcome injections, however, tell me I need bloodwork done and I'll split off running with smoke at my heels.

I am terrified of death. In my young age, one of the matters often on my mind is brainstorming methods to preserve my mortality. Because of this, sometimes I feel compelled to follow a sort of path of accomplishments similar to Mana's. It just... speaks to me. However, I'm sure I'll get their my own way.

I'm afraid of disappointment. Such as all my goals, all the devotion I place into things, etc. I hate the idea of having any of that crumble. Even worse, I am afraid of losing a distinct memory of an aspect of myself. I think this quote is by Ani DiFranco (I think she's a musician, I don't know- my cousin likes 'er) "Self preservation is a full time occupation".

Ooh! And the thought of really deep parts of the ocean with gigantic sea creatures or alien entities FREAKS ME OUT of my pants.

I guess all I can do in life is be brave, strong, and find ways to battle around my fears to become a more experienced person.

ON ANOTHER NOTE: Cerxeaux, THERE'S GIANT SPIDERS IN COSTA RICA RAMPAGING AROUND THE PLACE!? I guess I'll have to build up to that. Heh...

I'm petrified with fear by the mere idea that I might go blind and/or deaf later in life.
A fear, sadly, fed by the fact that I have weird incurable sight & hearing problems... :(

Sometimes I even think "I'll kill myself if I go blind". It really is one of my biggest fears.

Can I change my vote? My ABSOLUTE worst fear is that Versailles will change their name to something ridiculous like "Versailles Philharmonic Quintet. "

I am the exact same way with needles. As soon as a doctor even mentions the possibility of having to get some sort of injection, I turn completely white and I start shaking uncontrollably. Recently (well, back in June of this year) I had to get a small skin biopsy and when my dermo told me I needed one, I almost threw up and fell off the chair I was sitting on. ::bleh:: Even thinking about it now makes me all shakey. As much as I try to come to peace with this, I can't. Oh well.

Yeah, me three. I wrote this a couple pages back:

But my unavoidable fear is blood. Needles, transfusions, blood donations, bad cuts. I just start to think about blood and I start freaking out. I'm getting anxious just typing this. It's only getting worse as I get older which sucks, because as I get older the chances of me having to go to the hospital and have blood drawn go up. Oh god, I have to stop thinking about this...

but the biggest part of the blood thing is that having to do with needles. Injections freak me out and get me close to fainting, but having blood drawn is even worse. I have a really high tolerance for pain and it's not like needles actually hurt that much anyway, so I don't know why so many of us just lose our shit over them. I keep trying to tell myself that it's illogical, but as I'm sure you know, it makes little difference.

I'm always scared just before getting an injection, but the actual act doesn't scare me. It just makes me feel gross.
