I can't stand angelic pretty most of the time, the overly cute pink frilly kind of thing is just.. not my thing. : D But some people look just perfect in it <3
Awww ;_; I love Angelic Pretty! But I don't think I would wear it myself.
However, I totally agree! There are people who just look so awesome and super cute in it ::squee::
(btw I'm totally selling all that decora crap first thing I do when I go home.)
I know, they look just like cakes and you kinda want to eat them.. *w* It can be soooo cute.

I do goth lolita and decora lolita on my time off from school. Incidentally I have all of next week off, over which I see myself become a camera whore. Or, ya know, I might just veg out on Resident Evil for the entire week.

Since this thread has been brought back. I recently decided to dabble in some of the Lolita fashion communities on LJ. While it's still not my thing there are some cute outfits and a great source for new ideas for my own clothing style.

But good God! The Lolita Police are awful! It's like half the shit looks all the same to me but they'll nit pick and bitch and whine about the most petty things in people's clothing. Yeah I can understand the girl with the cat ears, cat tail and the Nightmare Before Christmas socks and arm warmers. Yet some of the other items are cute and looks just like any other Lolita item I've seen before, but people will bitch and whine saying the lace loots cheap or the bow looks tacky.

^Gawd people like that're annoying. If I don't like something I'll usually just ignore it, try to improve it, or try to burn it to ashes. Depending on what it is of course.

i really like Gothic lolita cause i adore gothic, baroque and victorian fashion and art so it's my favorite, but i also like hime lolita,wa lolita, punk lolita and goru lolita...

i actually the only lolita i wear is gothic lolita and punk lolita, sometimes i use goru lolita at cons or lolita/japanese fashion meetings, but i'm wanting a sweet lolita outfit for soo long!

Since we're all griping, I'll say that I like the clothes, but I don't like that group mentality. It's fun to get dressed up and go out with friends sometimes, but I don't feel a need to gain online acceptance in the global "lolita community" or for that matter be "a lolita". As in, too many people try to make their fashion style their whole identity, and it's annoying. Especially if they get burned online and decide to "quit". Like, just turn your damn computer off, and no one will bug you anymore (except random people on the street, but they'll be harassing you for other reasons).

well.. for starters, I like EGL and classic lolita. other than that, not much in terms of styles
.
but... I agree with Cerceaux about the whole "group mentality" thing. i suppose it's nice for the type of person who feels as though they aren't accepted in their society. That there are people in the world who "understanad them" and stuff.

but seriously, if you wander out into the streets wearing loli, people are going to stare at you strangely. This whole "lolita" lifestyle is a bit ridiculous. are they just saying that we should just be little mindless dolls who care solely about the "proper lifestyle"? :/

I'm soooo agree with you. That attitude is so childish (even for a lolita XDDD) *stupid joke* I don't really like having activity in any Lolita cummunity. The ones i've found seems being really boring for me. c'mon! talking about how expensive are yr clothing or how old/exclusive/which brand... i think that's... simply not interesting for me. I personally have much more other things to care about than these.

The worst thing is, that the sweet lolitas that you would think would be innocent and nice little girls, are totally the worst bitches in the community... I don't get the lolita community at all. Soo I stay out of it, and dress up sometimes for fun :3
