I started listening the exact moment Dix Infernal was released.
I was just looking for pics of Luna Sea when I saw pics of Malice Mizer and got curious.

So yeah, and Mervellis is my first Jrock CD I ordered over the internets as well.

Hmmm... I think I started at June 2004, when i was hearing every single song that was exposed in www.songjapan.com (I was way too bored and thought japanese language was very interesting to listen) and i heared Shadows Temple from Moi dix Mois, and loved it. I read the comments for the song and everyone was saying stuff like "Oh, it's great but I miss Malice Mizer ::tears::" so I get curious and wanted to know who were them.

I didn't liked them at all at first, I thought "Duh, this is just another japanese pop band" and I didn't know what was all that Visual Key thing, so when I saw their costumes I thought "Why are they dressed like that?? Are they sick or something??". However, I downloaded a few songs so that i couldn't judge them just for not listening the right song, and after i heard them day after day (cause i had no other music in my computer and all my cds were too faraway from my hand XD) I started to like them, and then love them, and then love their costumes and then downloading some of their videos...

They're my favorite band now, but i'm not a jmusic freak or something like that. I like music in general and in any language...

Oh, BTW, i was 15 back then. Then i got 16 in june 10th of the same year, and now i'm 18.... i know, that has nothing to do here XD.

I started listening to MALICE MIZER in 1998 when my friend showed me a picture of them and I couldn't believe they were boys. They kept talking about it, so I started listening to it, and ever since has been my favorite band. I was 10 years old at the time.

I wasn't really into it at first and I was really scared and preferred things like hide and x-japan. After a few weeks, they had become my favorite band.

I heard about Mizer in 9th grade, borrowed a CD from my friend. Fell in love, but I was so confused because the first three songs I loved were "Color Me Blood Red" "Le Ciel" and "Beast of Blood" so I had no clue who the lead singer was. Sadly I had to give the cd back so I lost touch of them when the songs got deleted off my pc (due to reformatting or something like that) At that time I had no idea who they were or their names. First member I saw was Mana (thanks to Gothic and Lolita bibles) and I would have thought he was a girl if someone didn't tell me "LOOK AT THIS GUY!" so it was interesting. And then everyone made a big deal about Gackt and I heard some solo songs of his.

Then Mizer went byebye for me, just being something I always played every now and then since I only had a few songs.

Not till maybe 11th grade did I find out what they looked like, and more information about them. I first got a Gackt album, which got me into more jrock, found out about different bands. Then I got their first two albums. And was like "Oh yeah this stuff is awesome."

And I've been mizer obsessed ever since, especially Kozi obsessed after watching their videos. (First video was Illuminati XD) Kozi obsession started after watching Bara no konrei *_* oy Kozi (he's so beautiful *_*)!! <3

I've been out of school for almost two years, so that was a while back. (6 years ago roughly)

I kind of have mixed feelings on them now, I think they're great...just...maybe not the best. Kozi owns my soul though, and probably always will.

Yeah,. Song Japan.com was were I got my Malice Mizer start. I had way too much time on my hands and was just browsing artists n they just came up,. That was in '03

Uhmm...I believe I was 14 when I first started listening to Malice Mizer.

I had bought an issue of Newtype and there was an article for Yaya Han (Best Cosplay EVER) and I went to her site and I was looking at all of her costumes and such and I came across the section where she had made a few Jrock/Jpop outfits: Hamasaki, TMR, and two of Mana (and I think some other ones >o>).
I saw the pictures of Mana and I was like "Waaah *o*" and realizing that she said he was a musician I quickly started searching for more about him and MM and on one of the sites I found they had a few MM mp3's up and they were all broken except for the mp3 of Sadness. Soo that was my first MM song and after that I was completely hooked O___O
I bought CDs, magazines, searched for like every picture imaginable XD.

But I don't have a favorite era. I like all of them...because they are all amazing :3

I did the same, i used to stay all day searching for MM's pics, and I even made a torrent file with all the pics i had XD (like a thousand-something) back then when there was a torrent tracker for jmusic only... (it was -supposedly- a special tracker from Morning Musume, but at least a 90% of the torrents weren't of them XD).

I miss that tracker...

I don`t exactly know, when I recognised Malice Mizer, I just know I always knew Mana, and I had heard about a Band called Malice Mizer, but I had no idea about their music or anything. Well later, I meet someone, I was curious about the J-Music stuff and asked him to show me some Songs. He showed me many PVs of different bands, but then he showed me "Sakai no chi to bara" and I was like "woooooow" the stile and everything was so interessting. But he only showed me a few seconds. Anyway he gave me some Songs on CD, also with MM Songs on it. I first liked "uruwashiki kamen no shotajio" and got really interested in that, the other Songs of Malice werent my taste, at first I didn`t liked Bel Air. Now it`s one of my favorites ^_^ yeah well, I didn`t mind the people behind the music, I just listened to it, I even didn`t know the members names. Then I recognised Baroque on that CD, and I was totally blown away, it was special, everything was cool to listen. So I bought my first MM CD, I still, wasn`t interessted in the people, I just loved the music, but then I looked more clearly at the pics, and searched the internet, then I recognised, how interesting their stile has been. And how cute they are
And then I became a total fan ^_^

for me, it was back on GameSpot someone posted a pic of Moi dix Mois, so I checked them out and liked them a lot. I was 13 then. Then someone there (who is also here) told me to check out MM, and he sent a video of Beast of Blood. All their music took some time for me to get used to. And my favorite remained Beast of Blood, but then I got the album Bara no Seidou (I already had merveilles at the time, and liked that too), and I just loved MM even more.

It was several years ago, and my friend was telling me about this band that had a cross dresser and they had a really morbid/classical motife. He told me about a video with a guy playing a cello and stuff. So being a cello player and a morbid person I wanted to see. He showed me Beast of Blood and I know have just about everything they have ever recorded.

The first time I'd heard about Malice Mizer was in January 2004, I was 18. I met a boy on the net and the first day we saw each other in person he gave me a cd with Japanese music. It includes Merveilles, Bara no seidô and a few songs of Voyage and Beast of Blood. I really fell in love with Bara no seidô, specially with Kyomu no naka de no yugi.
The time passed, the boy became my boyfriend and he told me about Malice Mizer all the time xD Well, at least the two or three months that we were together.
So.. I must thank him for introduce me in the Japanese music ^^
