Why *do* so many people hate Gackt?

Regarding the vibrato thing: Yes, Gackt has a very present vibrato, but I feel that Gackt uses it to a much better and above all controlled effect than, say, Klaha, who has an equally if not more present vibrato, and to my ear doesn't sound all that controlled or stable in his breathing as well.

i always thought gackt had an awsome vibrato and a great voice (at least while he was in MM) if anyone has an unstable vibrato, its Klaha o_O

Right behind you.
I'm never forced to give any attention to Klaha, so I can't remember what he even sounds like anymore.

Gackt's vibratto slightly varies from song to song. And it's different from Klaha's, but I like both their styles. ^_^

And as someone else said in another thread, yes Mao, your avatar is very disturbing. T_T *covers her eyes*

how many of you actually sing? and of those that do, how many have a vibratto? it may not be so easily controlled, and if it's your natural voice it sounds better if you don't. your voice may end up sounding too strained...
i think gackt and klaha both have beautiful voices, though i admit that at first i didn't like klaha's vibratto.

I have a slight vibratto and it varies with the type of song I sing, but I can pretty much imitate any kind of vibratto (except maybe Ayumi Hamasaki...) I enjoy both Gackt's and Klaha's voices and the way they sing. ^_^

I sing, and I didn't used to have a vibrato but now I do, and one can be very expressive and melodical with a vibrato depending on the type of music you sing. I find Gackt's vibrato sounds natural to my ears; Klaha's sounds a mite forced. I appreciate how Tetsu had a straight tone whose vibrato got more intense toward the end of a phrase; I thought it worked very well.
A straight tone gets boring after awhile, although I feel vibrato should be used rather sparingly in most cases.

i don't know much about vibratos and stuff...
I just wanted to say that the thing that i most admired about MM was the facth that they were able to continue their career after the death of Kami and gackt's departure...and we all must admit that they actually found a very good vocal to back the return up...

PS:can anyone tell me who was the drumer of the "bara no seidou" era?

Well, I like Gackt. I'm not like a huge fan of him, but the man deserves respect. Wether you like the fact of him turning poppish or not, he's still really talented.

After reading some of the posts in here, I really don't see why some people would hate him the way he's hated. Hate his music could make sense, but I find no reason for not having at least a bit of respect for such an important piece of what MM was.

The only thing that I find that might upset some people about an artist so much are his lyrics, if they are offensive in some way that is. But from what I've read of Gackt's lyrics, they aren't offensive in any way.

do you think that malice mizer's style would have changed to what it was in the end had kami not died...?

I think it would have changed to that, but not to the extent it was changed. I think the fact that since Mana didn't have to cater for drums in songs much he could broaden the horizons a bit. Saying that, Kozi, Yu~ki and even Mana himself didn't really do much in the BnS era

I believe that yes it would have changed but maybe not like it actually did... I think that Gackt's voice had influence on the band's musical creation.

I like Gackt, and *some* of his music but not all.

I admit, he's not one of my most favorite artists now, because of all the changes he's gone through, and almost all of his music doesn't attract me any longer. But, not as far as me saying "I hate Gackt" because of this or that, yadda yadda yadda..

Gackt is obviously a very talented individual, but he's eerything I hate, so i dislike him. the ONLY song i'll ever like from gackt is Kizu Darake no Lola... other than that i can't really find any of his songs that interesting.
