Who has seen the anime, X?

So far, I've seen the first five episodes of the series and I have to say I like it a decent bit. It will be hard to beat Evangelion, but its up there so far.

Also, who did the opening theme? Is it X Japan? Im just guessing because I have never heard and X Japan song, but I really like the opening to X.

I believe X Japan also supplied the entire soundtrack (5, 6 songs?) to X^2(squared) release which was a collection of X movie storyboards, paintings and also had a preview of the movie.

I don't remember it well, it was a long time ago, but I am pretty sure they did the whole thing.

Eva was great, especially towards the end. Hard to understand at first, but once you do, it is great.

I had to watch Eva twice before I really got a grasp on what was going on... partly because I had defective fansubs that had no sound. Actually, now that I think of it, I still haven't seen the bulk of the series with any sound to it...

but anyway, X doesn't come close to it. It's been a rather long time since I've watched that series and it doesn't seem to have left enough of an impression on me to remember it as being particularly great. It was good yes, but gets really drawn out and the ending is so anticlimactic I didn't even realize they'd done the whole final battle thing until it was over :P

Thou shalt not distribute stuff that can be commercially gotten. Thus saith THE FORUM RULES. And I believe that refers to anything.

I enjoyed the movie, but the problem with it was it was hard to follow if you didn't know the story, because as soon as you knew a character's name they'd be fighting to the death with almost no background given on anyone. I liked it a lot, though. The series does an outstanding job of giving the character's backgrounds.

...can someone explain Eva a little to me? I kind of watched it, but I didn't want to spend the time trying to figure out what it was about >_<

=P nah, Eva was about the ending of the human race by heavenly powers, or so they think, and the psychological aspects of the main character Shinji Ikari, mainly.

no, Evangelion is really about making fun of fans. If you have the movie DVD, pause it just before the giant Rei's throat get cut, you'll see fan letters/e-mails ranting because the series makes no sense in the end, it's so funny. I bet Anno get a lof of fun making that series, there is even one of those letters threatering Anno to death.
BTW; all the religious contents in this series is just "because it's weird and cool", as the staff themselves said.

The ending was really crazy, you can understand it though, somewhat, it just doesnt make complete sense in the end since they were running out of money and rushed it. Thats why they made the movies, to make a better ending for the series.

EDIT: I know they used the religion stuff for the sake of making a story to go along with Evangelion. I never said otherwise.

pfft... screw Shinji. It's the psychological aspects of the whole damn cast of characters. Then there's psychology in general. And of course angsty teens... you can't have Hideakki Anno without angsty teens. But seriously, did you ever see Death and Rebirth?
