Unlike Western bands who can replace dead members... it seems highly impossible for a Japanese band to do so, am I right? I mean, they can hire session musicians but not totally replacing their departed member (case noted: Malice Mizer). I don't quite remember where I heard this, but from what I've heard, replacing dead band members bring forth bad luck.

I hope this thing is true, for if it is... then hurrah! :D And I agree with Sousuke about Luna Sea! Get back together already, gardemmet! >_<

@lady toast: Well, no one's ever really TRIED. J-rock is too young and too tame to have several huge bands that had someone die during their activities.

And @ Flowers:

For me I don't know if I can listen to it. Just seems wrong for me anyways. When a band member dies in any band, it's tough for me to get into them

i thought toshi couldn't sing anymore or something... and something about him in a cult...? or are those all rumors?

Toshi was indeed in a cult. It's leader Masaya was arrested and Toshi claimed to have been "brainwashed".

I'm a bit cynical about this without Hide.
I'll certainly give it a listen, but my expectations will be tepid.
Regardless, it's still kind of exciting.

Was he still doing music then? Or has he done any music after the cult incident?

He's been making strange acoustic music and playing in supermarkets and old folks homes. His life has become very, very sad. :\

I am excited about this, and I will definitely listen to it, if it will come true.. I find it a bit hard to believe, still.

And how is Yoshiki going to do with the band with Gackt, X and Violet UK all in the same time? oO Or is he going to continue with Violet UK at all? (I don't know much about vuk..) Three projects/bands at once sounds a bit too much to me.. <.<

Lol... but, I dunno, at least it would look strange don't ya think? Sugizo on guitar... just imagine it...

Sugizo is a great guitarist, but, he just can't be compared with hide, so it will feel like he's trying to fill that hole hide left on X-Japan...

That's a completely unfounded accusation considering Sugizo could, and has, easily played anything X has ever put out, including dual guitar solos done by himself. I would beg to differ and would say Sugizo is the better guitarist, as he as the technical skill and has the better composition skill as well.

And if hide had to choose who would replace him, there's no doubt in my mind he'd choose Sugizo. They were like brothers.

yeah, Sugizo would be good... but... why would he be there? lol, I mean... just because he'll play with Yoshiki it doesn't mean they'll go all "let'sdo everything together"

As already stated, he's hide's closest friend outside of X. They were like brothers. He'd be chosen because Yoshiki knows hide wouldn't want anyone else replacing him.

Ahh. Gotcha there. Thank you for enlightening me.

I don't remember where I read this, but... can anyone please clarify the issue regarding the rumor that hide has a son/daughter? I am confuzzled. ::weepy::

I don't know much about X, but it's probably a lie. Most likely a rumor belonging in the same category as Mana being married and other such silly things. XD
