Anyone play either of these games? If anyone has then I will post more so I can discuss, or you can ask me questions about the games. I beat the first twice, and Im playng the second one through for the first time. These arent ordinary RPG's imo, much deeper.

Xenogears was my favorite video game... still is, I guess, as I haven't played any new ones in a while. My roommate had Xenosaga, but I don't know-- I couldn't really get into it.
I think my expectations were too high because of Xenogears maybe.

I've played the first Xenosaga and I plan on getting the second one as well. It's definitely a different type of RPG in that it's a continuing series. They really put a lot of time into developing the characters and really giving you an idea of who they really are and everything it's a good idea I like it. I hate it when they don't develop characters in some RPG's, it doesn't get me interested in the characters when they don't develop them. They use a lot of cinematic scenes to move the game a long though so it can get a little boring some times. My only problem is that each game is a bit short, but it is a series so I guess it is to be expected.

I have played and beat Xenosaga, and I plan on getting the second one someday...but I'm not paying the $70 CDN price tag...saving for jrock :p so I'll wait until the price goes down I think. Although It does look amazing imo, the characters look much better then they did in the first one.

The first one was 50 hours if you did everything. The second is supposed to be alot shorter, almost half. But I dont know yet, we will see when I do everything.

I also like how the develop the characters. They did put alot of time into them and really get you to care for some or hate them. I love Albedo, he just completely is awesome and has a very complex personality.

I liked the long cutscenes cause it kept me interested. I seriously could watch a whole thing of Xenosaga if there was no playing involved. I love it that much.

I don't know about 50 hours of game play. Granted I didn't do absolutely everything in Xenosaga but 50 hours is a bit much. I beat it in around 30 hours or so. I should also say that the back of the box claims Xenosaga has over 80 hours of gameplay in it. I just know that isn't true. Unless you spend a lot time training your characters or something.

yeah, to get everyone up that high would take about 80 hours. But i was a little over level 50, got all the items, segment addresses, hidden bosses, it took me 50 hours.

I've been watching one of my dorm mates play through episode II. He only had a bit over 30 hours (though I don't think the use of his ep I clear data had much impact on the time) on it and now he's going through the bonus dungeons. Thought the ending was kinda weak but it paves the way for the next chapter I supposed. I'll give it a run after i'm done with Phantom Brave, model kits (the 1/60 Gundam Seed Freedom is coming out March!!), and homeworks.

The bonus DVD you get if you preordered ep II is the who 4+ hour Xenosaga cutscenes. Its probably torrented somewhere if you wanted to watch it again...Damn, when are preorders and limited ed. games gonna be packaged with decent stuff. I would have much rather gotten more use out of a soundtrack or artbook or something. Oh well.

The soundtrack that comes with the limited edition players guide is actually quite good.

I recently finished Episode I, and bought Episode II (so exciting!!) As of right now, I can't say much, but some of the new voices are annoying. Why did they change them? :0

Yeah, most of them are the same voices besides like Chaos, KOSMOS, and MOMO, but MOMO's voice is alot worse, KOSMOS's is about the same, and I liked Chaos's better in the first but this one isnt bad either. Im glad they kept Albedo's.

Well they did say that they were going to make the characters seem more grown up and mature. So that's why they probably changed it. I think it's a good move but I was they had just started with the art design they used in the second one it's a little annoying to change the art design from one game in the series from one game to another.

Albedo shure has a cool Voice, but his Laughter is terrible......
And i like the Way german Words are spoken....i can´t stop laughing wenn they say "Marienkind" or Albedo´s "sweet little Kirschwassers"
I just love this Game.It has an outstanding Soundtrack from Yasunori Mitsuda...can´t ask for much more. The long Cutscenes aren´t long enough for me.I could spend hours watching them.

The Story itself isn´t as good as Xenogears´s but one must understand that there will 4 or 5 Episodes of Xenosaga. So there will not be the whole Story on the first Part of course.I like the why they are using Names based on religious Background like "Zohar","Pleroma","Gnosis" and Stuff.

The Gameplay is fun and the Riddles aren´t too hard if you look carefully in every Spot of the Map.The Battles are great and provide enough Space to play around with different Tactics. The Bosses aren´t too hard.I only had Problems once with this "Tiamat" Fiend.

I am only a bit sad about the Fact that the Person responsible for the great Story has left Monolith Software...hope this will not bust the complete Project.

The only thing I found weird and didn't really like about Xenosaga, and I'm just nit picking here, there was no boss music. I was so disappointed every time I got to a boss character and I didn't get any cool boss music. I'm sure they could have come up with a cool like remix of the regular boss music or something. Albedo could have had a really cool boss theme, I can almost imagine it too. Anyway, It was a real let down for me because I really enjoy boss themes in RPG's.
