You ever think Mana would..

With all of the new re-releases from Malice Mizer coming out, you ever think they would release some tours that they don't have on DVD out?

Like the gardenia tour, wich you can DL. but it's low quality. You think it could ever get a release like with CD quality? Or other tours that don't have an offical release?

No. Because these "new" releases were decided by Columbia, not MM members.

Even in Cardinal DVD they didn't put the sound of the live :/ i doubt they would release a live of this tour in dvd.

I would -love- to have box stuff from Midi:Nette. But so far, it's only been Columbia whoring out the merveilles era. =\ So unless Mana decides to be nice and follow suit, nothing else will come out (unless Columbia decides to milk merveilles a little more--though don't know what else is left to put out). Still... I think rereleasing stuff from non-Columbia label would ROCK. Voyage-era, Klaha-era (a box of the Klaha singles would be <3 <3 <3 ) or even Tetsu-era stuff, if it's around... I'd buy it in a flash. But I'm not seeing it happen, unfortunately. =\ I hope to be one day proved wrong!

I *think* that since they were indies in the time that they released the voyage concert in VHS format, they did not have enough money to release it with the full concert. After when they re-released it on DVD format, they added No pains No gains (full) and an interview with the members except for Gackt and Kami.

And about the Gardenia tour not been released on DVD, i think about these two possibilities: 1) they were planing to release the next live dvd, only after they had their album released or 2) they didn't like much the sound of Gardenia tour and wanted to improve it.

You know, I've actually been thinking about this.

From a business standpoint, it couldn't hurt Mana or Midi:Nette at all, and I'm sure that he and Midi:Nette could do FAR more justice to each and every other era than NIPPON COLUMBIA. Don't get me wrong, I will enjoy La Collection "merveilles," but I'd SO rather see a re-release of a FULL VERSION of "sans retour Voyage "derniere" ~encoure une fois~" (if Midi:Nette has the footage on file), a copy of "Human Science High Society Syndrome," a re-release of "Societe de Parente" on DVD (for god's sake), maybe even some footage from the "Gardenia Tour," and a ma cherie book containing prints of all issues in one big book, but I don't know if the ma cheries from the merveilles era were done with Columbia or not, though.

Anyways, I kinda think it'd be nice to try to get something going. Maybe, we could get someone to type a message to Mana on a new thread in Japanese, and it could discuss, ya know, the releasing of a Midi:Nette Malice Mizer box set or any other unreleased MM stuffs, and everyone on scape could sign it with a post of just their names (or maybe even a short message), and we could send the link to Mana via his website. I'm almost positive that it'd do nothing, but I DO think it'd be worth a try... We, the fans, DO deserve more than these "La Collection des Grand Argent" box sets.

Midi:Nette already did a re-release on DVD of Voyage and added one new track (if I recall correctly), so I think they've released all of it that they can (or want to). As for FC stuff, the impression I get from various bands is that customarily those things generally stay FC-only and are never reprinted.

As for sending Mana a petition, don't bother. He's a sharp businessman and I'm sure he already knows exactly what footage he has on file, how much it would cost to produce it professionally, and how much he stands to earn from it. If he hasn't released it already, it's because he won't stand to earn a profit, or because he'd rather spend his time on other projects like new music.
