What is your musical status as a musician right now?

As for me, I am not producing any music because I am taking the time to study various aspects of music, counterpoint being one of them. I am also working on improving my computer so that I can compose using high quality VSTi's and Sample Libraries.

However, once I get everything settled, I want to dedicate myself to producing a sound which will be a mix of:

Russian Red Army Choir + Rammstein

It will be 200% Testosterone.

I am the drummer of the 2-man band called "Bun Grave" xD

Our music is something between metal and punk :0

We aren´t well known or something like this because we started to play in a band ca. 2 weeks ago =/

I try to be somewhat of a writer. Not especially great but then I've only been seriously at it for a few months.
Like you, UAShenlong, I'm taking some time to get some real in-depth study of the art.
I was also giving some consideration to picking up guitar, buit I'm not decided yet.

Currently I am just studying (OMG I hate school there is so much normal people!), but I'm in a band. (Wich is still, a work in progress)
I sing, I write lyrics and I'm doing some investigation of different musical instruments.
My greatest dream would be that my concepts of art and life can be bound together on a stage.

......Of course my dad wants me to be a doctor.....BUT I MAKE MY OWN DECISIONS! (If I am going to university it's would be only to study something related to art, like photo designment-graphic designer. But Of course I will continue my band project while studying.

Zealous Veil is definitely still alive, however I'm more having to focus on schoolwork and exams at the moment, as much as it pisses me off XD My priority right now though, has to be school.

However, in terms of where I'm at with the project - I do still plan to release a 6-track mini-album which I'm thinking will be called 'Signal Complex', hopefully some time in the next uear if things go well. There are also a couple of bands who are interested in working with me/exchanging remixes and connections may allow my music to be distributed via certain DJs.

I am very lucky to have connections with and interest received from some very talented people out there, and I thank them all for their help.

I am also looking at going down the route of video-game soundtracks, as this seems to be a popular comment in response to checking out my material - that it sounds like a video-game theme! This pleases me greatly, as I love a lot of music played in games. I have discovered there is a local video game design studio and am pondering the idea of sending a demo in once I can get around to finishing it off.

I anyone would like some samples etc. please don't hesitate to e-mail/PM me. I'm always happy to see any kind of interest :) For those interested, there are also a couple of songs up on the Zealous Veil MySpace account, which seem to have received a good response so far!

I have several projects right now.

One is a punk, rock band. We have played together for more than four years and recorded two demos (one with 11 tracks and one with 7 tracks). Though we are pretty lazy and mostly just playing for fun so we haven't sent them to any record lables or anything like that yet.

Another is a metal band with visual inspiration from visual-kei. We have only played together for a few months but we just finnished recording our first, 5 track, demo. And we also finnished in 4:th place in a music contest with 50 bands.

In both those bands I play the bass.

My most recent project is a grind core band. Our motto is to never play a song that's longer than 1 minute and 30 seconds. I'm the singer of this band but it isn't a very serious project, it's just for fun. We are gonna practise together for the first time on friday.

I am also composing music on the computer. I want to make songs that sounds like they could be from the soundtrack of a Disney movie. The happy songs being SUPER happy and the evil songs being really, really evil. I want each demo to have story and I want each band member to dress up as a character from the story. But that band will have to wait till I have more time. 3 bands plus school doesn't leave much time over.

My two first bands has homepages. They are www.nybaktabullar.tk and www.manicmarionette.tk though right now both the sites are down because of our sucky server but they should be up soon.

I just got the needed equipment to record live instruments via my PC, so the music I've written is going to get recorded, and will hopefully sound decent.

In regards to what it sounds like, I don't even know anymore. I've got to many random inspirations. So, I can't give anything concrete in regards to sounds because, I can't.

This project has been going on for a year or so becauseI couldn't find the right members. So, i've given up on that and i'm going to record all the instruments myself.

Like they say "If you want something done right, do it yourself!"

I'm learning bass......I'm really bad
My main focus though is art: drawing, water colours, inking, learning anatomy and all that. I need to start doing comissions so I can buy a new computer and tablet ;__;

As for music, all it is really is me getting together with some of my buddies, and playing together. We mostly just sit around joking, talking and all that.

I was in a few bands as a drummer and I wrote most of the lyrics.
As of now I am doing solo/experimental stuff, as I look for people to start a new (good, serious) band. I have musical mood swings so I really can't give you one concrete genre which I would make....maybe I can say....Vk....there ;3

Pianist... >_> I'm not in a band, but I love playing for fun. I can come up with Lyrics, but I soon realized it's impossible for me to compose music without learning proper Theory. So, I'm currently learning Theory, and it's getting easier to come up with lil' tunes.

I'm hopeless with string instruments, but i'm more than willing to learn. >_> I hope to convince my friends to start a band with me, but if that falls through, I can always be a music teacher.. ^_^;;

cello's the only thing i can play. lately i've realized it's the perfect instrument for heavy metal because it's tuned in 5ths. I was rocking bullet with butterfly wings with my friend the other day.

I tried tuning my guitar in 5ths, but i can't control my tone or sound very well. I can be very expressive with my cello and I'm going to buy a pickup soon so i can run it through a bunch of pedals.

I also do lots of cheesy stuff on the computer, but there's nothing like performing.

Einherjer: What program(s) do you use? That sounds interesting. xD

MMike: WOO FOR GRINDCORE WITH SHORT SONGS.

personally, i use sonar producer 4 and a couple of softsynths: ravity(r), ravity(S), Vanguard.

for that particular song we used sony ACID, ravity (S), and for the drums, a korg ER-1 and zoomtrak something.

For notation purposes I use a free program called Noteworthy Composer. I usually save as a midi (the type that saves each track individually) and import it into sonar and then apply the vsts.

I always wanted to start or join a band... however I suppose I can be kind of picky sometimes because I have not yet met people I feel I could work with... there are also many musical differences in the area I live so I feel is makes it difficult for me to form or join a band...

I do enjoy singing but I don't really have the confidence to sing in front of a crowd or many other people in genral... In the future I want to study music and maybe then I will feel I will be comfortable enough to begin to work more with music...

I've been playing guitar for six years and have in a few goth/doom metal/punk/industrial rock-ish bands, then I moved here and I've been working with some synth kind of stuff, working with various bands and composing something of a demo-CD. I plan on studying music more thoroughly in college (just a few months away..) then be more serious about it afterwards.

Right now, I'm playing my upright bass in a community orchestra, acoustic guitar and bass in a band at my church, and bass guitar in two different bands at another church.

I used to write music, but never found the time to finish what I started. For instance, I have an awesome arrangement of the Zelda theme for bassoon, alto sax and clarinet, which was supposed to turn into a medly of all the cool Zelda songs. I never got past the main theme. XD

I soon plan to start a band with a friend of mine, once I find the time. We're looking for a slightly metal kind of sound, but would most likely end up playing whatever we think sounds decent, which would include J-rock. Woo!
