i am liking the new sample, but it does somehow feel like a forbidden / shadows temple / unmoved / eternally beyond / lamentful miss / last temptation mashup. i feel like i'm hearing a piece of each of those songs in that clip. but i do like it! i love moi dix mois.

I don't believe I would love his music half as much if he was an expert at writing music and using synths. It's the Beautiful Imperfection in his songs that I love. Perfection is death. :P

This is one of the reasons I often prefer listening to demos and live recordings over studio produced material.

So do I!

E-typ (a Dada project prior to VE) is only on demos, and it's... (I have no words for it)

The same here. I simply don't like the songs i have already heard from the new album, so i don't see the reason to pre-order the CD.

Right, what is going on here. Mana now is crying, he's threatening to kill himself. I talked to him on the phone and he said "Garnet I'm going to end it I really am." I'm going to count to three and Mana is going to jump out the window of the empire state building, so you better pay up. you better pay up.

It's not people's fault if they can't appreciate M10M as much as they did. Mana knows not everyone will like it. And honestly, the songs presented so far are not very inspiring. Compare these songs with songs from DI or NO, it's a huge difference.

these are just samples, we haven't heard the full songs (except The Sect and Dead Scape in poor quality and live) so you can't say these are any worse than songs on previous albums just from that. i remember the sample of Eternally Beyond on their website. i liked it, but once i heard the full song i liked it a whole lot more.

It's certainly possible that I'll like the full album once I hear it but based on the samples, I'm glad that I didn't just pre-order it sight-unheard. That's all I'm saying.

I was much more impressed with Shadows Temple, Eternally Beyond, and Lamentful Miss samples than these ones. Just saying. Of course, i can't make a fair judgement until i hear the full album, still...

I have noticed a lot of people have the same opinion. Recent Mana's works are not as inspiring as they used to be. The more i listen to old stuff, the more i think the new songs are not that good... I wonder maybe he has lost his passion and inspiration. He tries to please us by creating videos on youtube, of course it is very nice, but it is not the way to make us like the songs more. Well, it is my opinion. It is possible i am too mean, but i can't make myself to begin liking his new songs :/ . i try so hard though :/

@Astral Romance

No ,you are not mean at all. I also love Mana's work, and i respect the man himself, but i can't force myself to like it. These songs are just ok, in my opinion, Mana is capable of much more than this. We are talking about the leader of Malice Mizer after all. It would be mean if we thought it was not good, and still said to him it is ok. Fans are like good friends, and we must tell him the truth, not keep him alienated to what we really feel. There will be lots of people who will love this for sure, just look those youtube comments, but Mana should also listen to the people who are not pleased with his recent works.

Maybe it's time for Mana to join a band, and try new things... but it's his decision. I feel that since Dixanadu the quality of his compositions have been decreasing. I just want M10M songs to have the bright, fresh sound from old times. It does not have to sound the same, obviously, what i mean is that when you first hear Dix Infernal or Nocturnal Opera, you feel this great impact, and you can tell those 2 albums have really strong compositions; i did not feel the same with Dixanadu and these new songs.

I care for memorable melodies like the ones in DI and NO. I am not really looking for more technical guitar solos or chords, i don't really care much, if they improve the music, great, but don't forget the heart of the song -- the melodies. I don't want Mana songs to end up like Hizaki songs. That guy thinks more about the guitar lines than everything else.

From what I can gather from the samples and those two songs, in this next album he will continue to explore the "m10m sound sandbox". Hopefully it won't take long until he realises how much his sound is becoming so boring and predictable.

I agree with a lot of you guys.
I was quite fond of DI and NO and I actually really liked BTG, and the recent stuff has been just kind of . . . meh.

But there are plenty of people who like it a lot, including Mana apparently.
He's been composing and performing for a long while, his style was bound to get a little stale at times . . .
