Wow! I actually got to watch this one before it got pulled from Youtube!

So do you play on the actual songs, or are you basically just hired as a model for the videos? Either way, it looks like a fun gig. I'm not in love with her music but she's definitely a lot better than many of these idol type chicks. At least she's trying to rock rather than trying to be cute and high-pitched and ultimately effing terrible like most of those that I've heard.

edit: how old is this girl?

She's 34 i think, this year, and she was from a very successful rock band called "the brilliant green" who was featured in time magazine once.

I'm just a video monkey so I'm not actually performing on the songs, but I take the work involved to make it look like I am the guy who plays on the record rather seriously. I take into account tuning, key, solos, style, etc. She's been using me as her guitarist for her last seven videos and a TV appearance, so I assume it's working. :-P

I got started obviously with the Becca video. I don't get a lot of modeling work, obviously, but when the Becca job came up some blessed manager at my agency remembered a rock-type dude who played in a band, and they gave me a call to come out and audition. Long story short, they liked how seriously I took the art of faking, and I was the only one with sufficient rock 'n' roll style and energy. :-P

Becca and Tommy are on the same label, so I guess that's how she got a hold of me; wanted to use the same guitarist. She used different bassists and drummers and stuff for each of the shoots so far but she keeps me around for some reason. It's been such a blessing to work as close with her as I have, and to received her guidance and support in regards to Chemical Pictures as well, which she really does not have to do.

When I performed with Becca at Shibuya 109, they gave me 13 songs about two weeks in advance and said that we'd do 3 of them but they didn't know which ones; I learned all parts and solos in two days, because I'm just that big of a loser. :)

Tommy made it big with Brilliant Green, so she's a well-known figure in Japanese music. She's 34 or something I think. Totally unfair, and also married, which is also unfair, but then again I generally think the idea of people being ridiculously pretty is unfair. :-P

There's promotion for the new album coming out soon but whether my services are needed anymore or not is up in the air. :)

I'm by no means a Jrock or pop expert so I had no idea who she was until you started talking about working with her, but

34???

I thought she was, like, 17 or something. What the hell.

And it's not just lighting or makeup either. I mean, you can tell she's not in her teens or early 20's, I guess, in terms of aura or mood, but 34 still sorta boggles the mind.

And it's not just limited to Japanese, either; hanging out with her off-camera/stage it was easy to tell she was 19, but her maturity of voice and songwriting seemed to counter that.

i like older women and all but they tend not to care too much about vk'ers in their mid-to-early 20's ::kiss::

She looked like 24 and was 34... >.>

That's really just -not- fair..

Ok you could say she looked like 30 just after waking up with no make-up and fake lashes ect. but.. 5 minutes later she were all ready and she still looked so natural oO"

Strange Shiseido Makeup.. XD

Oh God...

i didn't understood what was this thread about before. But i'm a curious person and so i get to read it from the beginning. And i must say this thread is totally HOLY SHIT! i mean seriously!!!

it is some sort of a web-archive-documentary about how an American guy goes to get into Japanese jrock/visual kei/whatever underground scene. Reading ALL this thread it's a complete pleasure for anyone who loves getting into social stuff and investigation. I'm seriously wanting to read it all, i only read the first 5 pages and then keep skipping some others and comments and i'm feeling completely amused that i could found something like this in this forums! I could seriously make a thesis about all this stuff... but, i don't know.

I will be reading this with time.

Haha, it was pretty awkward since Tommy just spontaneously came up with the idea. I think she just wanted to see us make out, but the only sugar I was gonna give her was that fakeout kiss at the end. :-P Luckily though I'm good friends with the guy so we can laugh about it, go hang out and have some drinks, and make out on our own time. :-*
