wow I only listened to it today and I must say it's quite fun to hear a totally different version of the song!

Still I feel like asagi has some problem with the fact that he has to pronounce everything clearly XD

the cd is supposed to be "celebrating" original VK of the 90's, so i think its perfectly fitting to have that "generic" VK sound...although that seems to have become a dirty word these days D:

I disagree. The 'generic visual kei sound' of the 00s is way different than the visual kei sound of the 90s. And the 90s had it right, imo. That's why I don't listen to VK anymore. I hate how it sounds now.

^ this dude speaks the truth.
and... what can we expect for the next decade? I seriously hope VK to improve. But as I can see, it seems like it will be no different of what it is Hello!Project right now (which also decreased in quality, imo). All I can see in VK are cute guys who look like girls and no real concern about trying to make music less "generic".
I think the "best VK bands" are who have the cutest or hottest guys, same as H!P, who just hire girls judging about how cute they are but not about talent.

...ah, maybe I just got a little off-topic here, but I needed to say it, lol.

I'm still not impressed with this cover although I must say Asagi didn't make it THAT horrible as I actually excpected it to be.

You have to admit it was quite an acomplishment making a Malice Mizer song sound like every other modern VK band ::meev::

Yeah it could have been worse.

GPKISM could have covered it.

as far as I am concerned, D never made it past the n00b phase of development...

maybe a newer less established band (to counter D's predicament, less caught up in its own progressive fail) would have done a better job.

It's not so much of a question of should D have covered Malice Mizer, D's a fine band to cover Malice Mizer, they just should've just chosen a different song. Like Bel Air or Tsuioku no kakera or something? Woulda been badass. Shiroi hada or Kioku to sora? Dudeee.

Yeah D are certainly no worse than any of the other bands on that CD.

It is what it is... an ok cover of an ok song.

Despite not being a fan of their new music, NoGoD is certainly better than D. ::meev::

i was a little butt-hurt at firt but i felt it was an ok cover. there were things missing and there were things that made it unique. if they would have chose "Shiroi" to cover i probably would have still been a little on the butt-hurt side.

I just can't use to this "rockish" cover.
But I waited for a worse result. ::bleh::

usually when any song is covered by solo artist or band it gets poor review because:

A. people liked the original song the way it was and didn't think it needed to be covered.

B. they had high expectations and thought it was going to be a specific way and it turned out it wasn't.

in the end you might as well put it to bed and write it up as a different interpretation of a song that both you and the individual(s) who covered it are familiar with.

Im actually liking it. I think when people hear cover, they feel it should be similar to the song.

This reminds me of what Abingdon Boys School did to Dress from Buck Tick. Though I really like the ABS version better than the original.

I think this is a cool metal take on the song. Thumbs up from me.
