I don't particularly care where CDs and merchandise are sold. I'm sure in Japan, M10M CDs are sold in totally disgusting rathole indies CD shops. XD Really, all that concerns me is how the artists are promoted when they're present in person, on tour.
that's how I personally like it^^
The stores where I usually buy these kind of cds, are small places, full of posters and signs all up the wall, these kind of small stores where the bands come back for Talk and handshake and sign sessions... I love this scene very much.
Doesn't make me dislike big stores, but since there I have to search for my bands, I rather go to the place which only sells my bands...
I saw another comment about the way bands go...I don't mind if they get major, I still love Kagrra...But I still want them to pay at 400 people concerts about 10 times every month, rather than only big arenas, I still want the fans to come fully dressed up, I still want the shows to be super active with alot of para/odori, than just seats, I gladly even get a few bruices than to lose that contact¨, and to never again be able to be up front since if big seated shows, then I never get to sit first row ever...
there is a reason to why I check my makeup 10 times during a Psycho le cemu show and go to the toilet area when they have talk event, while I would never do that at a Vidoll or Mago show...
to me also the sound and the looks matters.
If the band leaves that scene...then they also basically said, " thank you for the time, we enjoyed it, but now we look for something else, goodbye" and I don't feel that I have the need to be the fan...
as a long time Visual kei fan, I don't only listen to the CDs, it's poart of my life...I live it, I feel it...and the band need to give me the feeling that they have something to give to me. But I will still be curious about how the bands develope, I might still nostalgicly show up at shows even if the band isn't that attractive to me anymore, I will still love the memories. And, I will understand that many fans will come and go, and as bigger the bands get, the more fans mainly listen to their new things and love it dearly, and I can't say that they're not as much fans as me, they're maybe even bigger fans than I ever was!! and they love the music...there will always be fans who love a lot of styles and music in variations, and those who don't think the looks or their own fashion toward the music matter at all...it's ok. we're just different...
therefore it's kind of hard to start talking about weather this or that band should show up at anime expo or anime con or not...people will feel differently. and things which matters alot to one, matters not at all to others.
many of the new mdm fans are not fans of visual....they're fans of metal or originally fans from the gothic scene, and so they won't have the same oppinions.
and then we have the fact that most vk fans both long time or short, atleast back in the days when it wasn't east to download, was anime or jpop fans before they discovered visual...one had to some way or another like something japanese to accidentally bump intoo a tv show or soundtrack or video music program or something that introduced the vk scene....
I got intoo shazna, on the way of already being a jpop jrock fan, and this was something very unique and new to me...
anyways~when Mana came to a japan/anime con in Paris in 2004 I didn't feel there was this " good or bad" discussion.
Everything was rather strict, we had to queue alot, we had to get our good seats, and then everything was just so nice! I doubt Mana could have felt a more warm welcome from his fans...and even if some people in the last rows in the hall were not fans, they stay to check this "Mana" because they're curious...
so, I hope it will be as great for american fans this time...after all, he comes to USA! and even if there's no tour, I promise all big Mana fans; you will have an amazing experience, because to meet your idols always result in the feeling of it actually being real. Everyone's real, and the music is real, the fashion and looks are also real. Atleast for me it is an important feeling, to be able to make the experiece a real thing and not just something I dream of.
anyways, a lot of bla bla^^;
sorry....I have one more question and that's;
when will the panel for Mana sessions be? My japanese friends are going but there's still nothing on the anime expo page about Mana at all....
