I'm not trying to be defensive, but I just get tired of people saying that he's a bad musician or that he has no talent. That's crap.

I'll just say that it's really easy to dislike Manson, because a lot of other people do. He's actually a pretty good musician. He plays the drums, the guitar, the keyboard, and the saxophone. I know he plays more instruments, but I cannot seem to think of them right now... He's also a pretty decent vocalist. He has good control over his voice and almost always stays on key. He can also scream like a professional, and that's pretty rare in "heavy music" like his. He's also always changing his image and style, but he has the same underlying theme with each new album. I find that to be pretty cool. It's his trademark. Please don't come on here just to bash him. He's a lot more successful than any of you, and he's trying to do something innovative and pure. That alone is respectable.

Heh, not pertaining to this thread or Manson in particular (I honestly have not listened to him enough to judge either way, or even care) -- but just because someone is successful or popular -hardly- means they have talent. Especially in America in the music and acting industry. ;]

I agree. I should've said that it's cool because he became successful by doing something new.

I can understand the frustration, but once someone has a strong opinion over something...you can't really change it just by typing on an online forum. Most people find stuff like that annoying and end up just as focused on hating the band as ever…

You know what? You're right. I've been trying to get a friend of mine into Marilyn Manson, but he just refuses to try them. I just got him into J-Rock instead. Deep down, we all know the J-Rockers are hot.

Meh... Manson is just meh for me. He's one hell of a performer and his shock-value is through the roof, and I REALLY enjoyed his book (The Long Hard Road Out Of Hell)..... but his music isn't something I obsess over. I own a few of his CDs which I listen to every now and then, but - meh. Just meh...

I'm still hate him. And I still haven't forgiven him for stealing Kyo's tie. Bastard. And sound wise he sounds like nothing but industrial-pop for kid's who think they are kool and rebellious.

I also gained a hatred for him from "goths". I swear to Christ I hate goth kids. All they do is whine about how much their life sucks and how they're going to commit suicide. Get over it, life sucks for us all. Plus the whole bashing Christianity thing is stupid and overdone. But at the moment its kool to hate Christianity. But if you dare insult any other religion, then you're a prejudice lowlife.

I hate manson. I use to like him but when I found out more about him and shit, I hated him more and more. And Cookie, you seem intelligent and nice to be one of his fans, considering 99% of the people I've met that are fans of him are complete and utter morons. Just too many things have made me hate manson.

And that's all I got to say about that for the moment. And you have the right to defend him, but I have the right to tell how much I hate him.

Keep in mind cookie that if you're not getting the response you like for Manson here you have your MM board you can visit for pure Manson love.

Cheatsy I don't know what kind of gawths you're hanging around, must be high school or something because they all sound like a bunch of dirty conformists to me. Maybe they should go live in a third world country with all the other conformists.

Well the reason I said "goths" in quotations is because I was referring to how completely idiotic these kids are that call themselves goth. Personally, I don't believe in being a goth, unless you just so happen to be a surviving goth barbarian from long ago. Which I doubt anyone is.

I mean, I dress in a gothic style and listen to what would be considered by most as goth music, but I would never refer to myself as a goth. I am a human, that's all. I'm not some stupid label that people want to slap on me.

well it'll always be silly a silly situation if first of all someone is dumb enough to ask you "what you are" and then you're somehow daft enough to respond "me am goth," you've got the right idea with the whole "I am just myself" thing run with that.

but goth has gone a long way from just being a bunch of barbarians killing romans.

now we're a tribe of mordern day shadow warriors who destroy pop music rawr.

That little speech makes me wonder what kind of "goths" you know. They are probably very young and immature and get their idea of what goth is from newspapers printing horror stories about MM listening "goths" worshipping Satan and desecrating graveyards, which they think is "kEwL" and therefore imitate. I know that breed of "goths" and they are in no way representative of the gothic subculture. The sad thing is that by believing and imitating what they read in sensationalist media reports they give a bad name to the whole scene and help to perpetuate an image that has very little to do with what goth is all about (just like MM has little to do with goth music). So please be careful with generalisations.

More on topic: I like Antichrist Superstar and Mechanical Animals and I think that MM puts on a great stage show. That's about it.

OT#1: Oh, please, not here, not again! All that "wath's goth, and what's not" thing is driving me crazy @___@..i see it every week! ( some project at school @_@Uu)...

On topic, I like MM...I'm not a crazy fan that worships him and every single one of his works..but i like his music...not always, but most of the time...What i don't like about him is that "Oh, let's look scary& creepy, wear a lot of makup to look awful, and say I'm the Deviil, so I can get more and more attention and sell more records" thingy....though, that tactic works well, it's something i'm getting tired of ::coffee::

*ehem*..Do YOU live in a third world country, Gier?...Well, I DO, and i find that comment, kind of ...offensive. I live in the worst third world country, and I can say, a lot of people aren't conformists, me included..We're just tired of being the place where all the world's shit is thrown at ::coffee::

Yeah, Gier, my dad is from a third world country. I am so offended.
...Actually my dad just makes jokes about it all the time. It's not a big deal, and people who care are just perpetuating...something.
