At the moment -scape- is on hiatus and not updating at all. So, no new sites are going to be added at the moment. I'm really not sure what's in the future in that regard; in the past all the updates were done by LejuN.
Wow its been a lot since then. How about now? Since Tetsy has been really active in these years with nil, Zigzo and TJJA :)

Dunno why was I digging in old posts, lol

Hah. I still contend that he's the most prolific ex-Mizer. At least the wikipedia entry gets maintained by some kind souls out there. I know I haven't touched it in years!

I wonder if he could be coerced into meeting up with the original MM gang (including Gaz) and recording the songs that never made it to Memoire DX...

I've been really enjoying TJJA so far. I especially like My Funny Car and 不自由の女神. I'll still always think of Tetsu as the guy belting out Freeze Me, though, even though that was a LONG time ago (Almost 20 years!!)

It's pretty amazing how fast this band is moving though, especially with Nil picking up momentum! Even though Mana and Koji are two of the more famous members of MM, it's funny to think that Tetsu is running circles around them and he's STILL not as well known as anything but MM's first vocalist by many fans...

I think he may like to stay underground, because he had a huge opportunity with Zigzo back in that day and it didn't last that long. Until now that Zigzo is finally back <3. To be honest, for that same reason I cannot imagine Tetsu going out of Japan to perform (which would be awesome, but I simply cannot imagine it).

Yeah, it seems like a very limited number of Japanese acts actually make it overseas... I wonder if TJJA could actually gather enough fans overseas to have a successful tour? Or Zigzo for that matter... If they came to a venue near me though, I would definitely go. (He better hope I don't get to talk to him though, because I'd probably relentlessly beg him to tell me the official lyrics of Freeze Me and 16 no Solitude)

What are the strongest tracks for introducing someone to NIL and Zigzo? I hate to admit it, but I never really pursued either, to be perfectly honest. I really like TJJA, though! (I saw on Kazi's blog that he's giving drum lessons! How awesome would that be?)

Of course I would attend to any show where Tetsu could perform in some place like LA, which is one of the favorite locations for Japanese musicians to do so. But I think it would be easier for Zigzo to fill a venue, not only for Tetsu but for Sakura as well because he has his own fans who liked him from L'Arc~en~Ciel (because to be honest, laruku is an act way more known than Malice Mizer or any band where Tetsu has been).

About ZIGZO I'd advise to listen to the two studio albums, "Monster Music" and "add9 suicide" (in that order). There were several singles with some b-sides but the essentials are those two. Also Chelsea is IMO the best Zigzo track, but it was their last single so, better keep it chronological.

About nil... it is kind of hard. For me my favorite album is "nil from hell", the first one. But to know most of nil's music, it might be better to listen to "12 inplosion" because it has some of the old and upbeat music and the new and calmer ones. Better take a look too into the tracks "Sayonara da Vinci" and "Mona Lisa" (which I would say it might be one of my favorite nil songs).

I agree with Haruna with those Zigzo/nil suggestions.

nil from hell / Sayonara DaVinci (released 3 months apart from each other) originally got me hooked on nil. The latter of which I still cherish like when I first heard it.

However 12 inplosion is the best all around nil album and would be the best place to start.

Regarding Tetsu/Zigzo/JJA coming to America, I don't see it happening. I'd love it and all as I've never seen him live in person but there really isn't a market for Japanese bands that don't have a distinct gimmick like visual-kei or an insanely huge fanbase that transcend physical borders and extend beyond digital realms like L'Arc. Even at their height, Mad Capsule Markets brought in a paltry 20-50 people when they toured America in 2002. It was a bit sad.

I know someone who works in the promotion industry and when I suggest band A or band B, more to see his response, he has always given me blunt bottom-line type answers, which from a business perspective makes complete sense. From an artist perspective it makes sense too once it was explained to me. With the exception of the big ones like Dir en grey, Vamps, X Japan, Miyavi, bands touring the states are really doing it at a loss or to break-even. All of the headache and costs for no return except to say "I performed in America".

Thanks, I'll check them out!! Always interested in new music! d(^_^o)

I know what you mean about music from other countries failing to attract a large audience. Many mainstream bands from Europe only stand a chance becaus their music is widely available in CD shops around the states. Most Japanese bands don't even have that, so unless you already have a foot in the door, it's difficult to discover new bands.

I saw X Japan when they came to the US and, even though the venue wasn't huge, it wasn't even sold out, and a good number of the people there were Japanese fans who were currently studying English in America. Japan loves foreign music, even if they can't understand the lyrics, but from what I've heard from other people, they like being able to understand the lyrics and thusly don't particularly like foreign music.

(VK was never as widely popular in Japan as the interet made it out to be and bands that transcend into America, such as The Candy Spooky Theater among others, are lucky if 30 people or more attend their shows in Japan... And then others like Blood Stain Child, who no one but me and about 3 other people knew, suddenly began playing all around the world... Maybe Tetsu could play some anime conventions or something? He could even cosplay, that would be pretty awesome!!)

I guess when I first heard NIL, it wasn't anything like Malice Mizer and Tetsu didn't sound like I was used to so I think I was disappointed, but I'll go back and give them a try!! Thanks!! :D

Nice, I hadn't seen that tracklist because I foolishly follow the OHP which always updates this information last.

The tracklist really makes me want the Black Comet Club single now since it has that exclusive track. Anyone have some sort of connection where I can get this from!? I'll even take mp3s at this point since a CD from that short-lived tour will be hard to come by.

Wandering Fox: I caught X Japan when they played in New York and the venue was pretty packed. I'm not sure if that's because it's New York or alot of complimentary tickets were given out. When I saw Luna Sea in LA the venue was half full. Considering the production of the 3D filming they shot, LOTS of cameras and staff, surely the only way they're recouping their costs are by the CD and Blu-ray versions they released a year apart from each other. Double the milking!

Oh man, I wanted to go to that... But Luna Sea has the money to do that, they did a free live in Japan as Lunacy where the tickets were distributed via lottery... And they played Nightmare, a demo track that never made the switch with them to Luna Sea...

I'll definitely be checking out this album! I've been on a bit of a Tetsu kick these days and rocking out to Himawari and Flow by Zigzo. Tetsu's got a lot more control over his voice than in the MM days, but I'd still like to see him live and see if he sings as emotionally as he used to.

(I watched the Beast of Blood PV last night with a friend and tried to imagine the song with Tetsu on vocals... I don't think I have that much imagination...)

haha yes, I'm very much aware of that, it's just so... cliché, like all those nazi themed japanese bands, like you think of germany and this is what comes to your mind, I don't know

to stay on topic, i too don't see tetsu performing overseas, though it would be great, his musical style fits more into contemporary western music than most other japanese bands imo, if he sang in english .. ^^

I think there's a very good reason why he doesn't sing in English anymore, unless MEGA8BALL has an American tour simply known as the Lunch Tour

Honestly though, if TJJA really wanted to do an overseas tour, I bet they could just go around and participate in open mic nights, lesser known punk bands from Japan do it every now and then (Not that they have expressed interest in overseas touring that I know of, but it would be cool!)

I may be wrong of course, but I think Tetsu is pure Japanese, and needs Japan to be himself, and to be the artist he is.

@Taku: wouldn't it be nice to see a Japanese band sporting Lederhosen and yodelling for a change?

Well, the link for this single is this one, but... is it necessary to live in Japan to order it? That's my main issue with japanese pages because I don't know if I can order it from here :(

!#*@(*%$ Thanks for posting that.
I totally didn't know this was for sale on their website.
They really do a horrible job updating their main webpage. ~_~

But yes, they don't ship outside of Japan and I end up having to use a buying service to get these mail order items. This is the one I use:
