OMG ::squee:: Thanks!!!

I got your letter too and it was so adorable and I loved the things you wrote, you're so nice ::weepy::

I actually found four cans of Pizza Pringles at Walgreens and I bought them all for $1 because of all my points! Woo!

The Cloisters was a lot of fun. The most fun part though was getting there, we traveled through this big park pretty much alone and we felt like we were in the wild XD It was gorgeous though and we took a bunch of funny pics and saw the ships! I'm still cracking up at how well our timed pictures came out XD And she even got me a necklace!

LOL, I'm sort of watching 7th Heaven and the littlest sister and her brother Simon are about to brawl with two boys, and this little black boy with glasses holds Simon back and seriously says, "Dr. King found other ways to solve problems. Violence is not the answer."

The two boys: "Good job poindexter"
Black kid: WHAT *goes to fight*

I think I missed your birthday by a couple hours, so happy belated.
Thanks ::kisaki:: What you wrote about your biological father in the previous page was really nice btw! Maleficent is a cool lady and her voice is so cool! Her voice actress also did Lady Tremaine in Cinderella and the Queen of Hearts in Alice in Wonderland, so she has a history of being... cool~

Yay! You can send me yours so I can add you back :D

OMG my suitcases are insane, I think they're both going over the limit! T_T All the clothes I have in there are essential, but my books' weight is really adding to everything and some of them are bricks. Ugh ;_; *imagines newspaper headline "DEATH BY SUITCASES"*

I don't know how some of my friends are taking 1 suitcase and one carryon, that's just... *sigh* This is so scary and exciting, oh my God!

We're in mainland China right now (Guangzhou) and this does definitely feel more foreign than HK.

It's really nice so far though. And this hotel is bananas. All you can drink and eat happy hour? Oh my. This could be bad.

(Double post because it's been a while since my last)

Had amazing Malay food and cocktails at a few fun bars and got bummed when I thought about how Flowers misses all this shit when he travels and only actually experiences like 20% of any country he experiences.
(Tell me if I'm wrong).

I'M ON THE PLANE OMGGGG

I'm so excited :D On my flight to Detroit I sat next to this really nice man named Jim and we talked the entire way, it was really interesting how natural it was... His family owns a castle on the Rhine in Germany and he used to work for IBM and we even talked about Disney movies! I'll miss him, haha. He even showed me the way to my next gate and we talked about our travels and all.

Anyway, see you guys from the other side <3333

It's true, I don't go to bars XD
But just like in America, I am unrelenting and I wring the maximum out of every day when I travel - more or less.

I've only traveled by plane a few times, but I always seem to do this too. It's can be kind of awkward though, like we're both just trying to be polite.

How weird is it that two -scape- members are going to China simultaneously? I never thought of China (not even Hong Kong) as a tourist destination before.

Hope you guys have fun

Well, we've been all over the US (including Hawaii); we've been to the Caribbean, Europe, Egypt and Israel. All that's left is South America (meh), Africa (hahaha no) or Asia.

Well, maybe not mainland Africa...but everyone here goes to Morocco, Tunisia, or Algeria on vacation and they seem happy...then again they're all from those places. But still. Also any of the islands off the coast of Africa would probably be really pretty.

I can normally strike up a conversation with nearly anyone, but this started out with him having to let me through to my seat and I said, "Don't worry, I won't leave again" because I knew how annoying it would be, and he said it wasn't a problem and it started from there. At first I didn't get why he talked to me so much and felt strange, but then I really got into it and I felt sad that I'm never seeing him again. It's fascinating how people come into your life like that and then just disappear.

^Here's his castle though, it's gorgeous! He said he'd visit and didn't know if he should say, "I'm home!" XD

He said he didn't like Mulan though and I gasped. He liked the more traditional princesses and thought Mulan beat the whole "strong independent woman" thing into your head too much-- omg XD

Anyways, my flight to Shanghai was a lot of fun because I found fellow NYU-ers and we didn't feel so alone and strange and talked throughout the trip. (I saw Finding Nemo, Wall-E, Cinderella, and The Campaign) These nerds I met were so much fun and it was a blast, especially when driving in the bus to the campus and we were all "OMG WE'RE IN CHINA" XD

I had to run off to a dinner right afterwards and got to know more people and now I'm in my room and it's adorable, I love it. I have a big bed, huge windows, nice shower and lots of drawers and shelves and a great desk. And they gave us a ton of stuff in our goody bag, shirts, notebooks, a cool keychain, a pot, cookies, a travel guide, an agenda, etc. It's kind of cold in here though but at least I brought my Hello Kitty blanket. This is seriously so surreal, I can't believe I'm living here. I don't think it's hit me yet!

As for other countries, my mom and I really want to go to the pyramids of Giza some time. I feel bad for missing out on my program's trip to Ghana because I heard it was wonderful, so I'll go someday. I want to visit the Moai heads too and see Brazil, especially the Iguazu Falls. I should decorate and unpack now, I don't wanna! I want to explore XD

@Faith: I'm sure. We'll probably go one day but it's not high on the list currently. I still feel a little scared going to Muslim countries as an American - even though those specific places are far from terrorist hotspots.

On planes I'm usually either studying, playing a game, or sleeping so it's pretty easy for people to figure out not to bug me XD

No you wouldn't. You'd sit there across from me and make a bored face while I talked to him :P

I should have named Anyan Squeaky Toy or RAPTORKITTY. She meows like a mix between the two.

You guys are lucky you aren't in Beijing right now!

I just Wikid Guanzhou again (I did a bit of research on it last year, because it's the city where the OLPC laptops our class used were manufactured) and its just insane. 3rd largest city in China, but has 50% larger population than New York. Its history goes all the way back to 206 BC.

If China ever opens up and democratizes, I'll bet its amazingly large cities will become hotspots the way New York and LA are.

What were you doing with an OLPC? I thought by American standards those don't do very much.

They don't. We were mostly doing user testing on them (there are people who want to distribute them to low-income kids in Detroit) and coming up with ideas for literacy-based programs that could be developed for them.

In fact, I'm going to walk across the entire Great Wall of China!

Chengdu's the best city! <3 That one has the best history, mhmmm~ And it has a lot of pandas and its history goes back to 311 BC. TAKE THAT! ::batsu::

I still don't believe I'm here XD The corner of my long desk has a ton of Pizza Pringle cans. It looks like a mountain.

I've never even been out of the country... :(

I was supposed to do this short-term exchange thing in Japan back in high school through sister cities, and even hosted a student at my house, but then the next year when it was my turn the retarded organizers were like "oh no, it's every other year why are you so dumb" (even though they assured me over and over that they were doing it that year), and the year after that I was over the age limit. I had even dropped out of choir senior year so I would be able to go on that trip.

THANKS FOR NOTHING YOU JERKS

Then again maybe it's better not to go to a foreign country with inept morons like that. But I still get mad when I think about how they screwed me over and all my friends got to go and I didn't.
