Hello! I'm new here, but have been an avid Visual Kei fan for years. VELVET EDEN is actually my top favorite band after MALICE MIZER, and I'm having a little trouble trying to locate some of their demo versions, these in particular:

-Luzifer
-No.15
-Jailed prince

I know that they were posted on YouTube at one point, yet are not accessible now and would very much like to have them. Did anyone by chance happen to extract them before the videos disappeared? I'd sincerely appreciate the help, if so.

Also, I wanted to let everyone know that I've started a site (blog) that's very similar to Faith's website, where I'm posting my own transcriptions/English translations of Japanese song lyrics (I tutor people in Japanese on the weekends, so I'm quite adept at translating). Here is the link:

http://www.the-lair-of-madame-tarantula.blogspot.com

I'm starting out with VELVET EDEN first, typing out everything and posting them, then will be working on posting other artists' lyrics as well. I'll post other content eventually too. I have worked tirelessly on translating lyrics to make them as accurate as possible and would appreciate any feedback. Just trying to get the word out about my site too, so please let others know, thank you! I hope to contribute new things that others haven't seen online before on my site too!

What are the "modified kanji" versions?

EDIT: Also, picking one randomly, I don't think "fake eyes" is right in "Madame Tarantula". "-me" is also a kind of derogatory suffix, so I think Faith's translation is more accurate here.

Or as I'd half-seriously put it:
Hear me now, my wretched doppelganger
You shall now become me

Offer up your all
Become my flesh and blood - and relive my tragedy for all eternity

The modified kanji/kana versions are the original lyrics, but modified by me so that they are spaced how the song is actually sung (with breaks/change in the music usually indicating a new verse) and substituting in the words that are actually being sung when they are different than what is written. Which seems to happen more often than people think. I've also included parentheses around those word(s) that are not actually sung, but are implied through context and understanding (as so much of Japanese is).

Ah, yes, that is true. I actually chose between one of two options for that translation originally, as ã￾«ã￾›ã‚‚ã￾®ã‚￾ when heard without kanji being seen usually means "My imitation' with a hatred tone (ã‚￾ gives this tone), which is in fact, similar to Faith's translation, only singular (hers was written as if Madame Tarantula is speaking to multiple people, I'm assuming the various Alices, whereas I translated the song as if she is speaking to only the one true Alice, especially since it refers to someone being reborn at the end, which according to the story, couldn't have occurred with the other Alices and only happened to the true Alice). Fake/false eyes in Japanese are usually written 義眼.

Changing the translation now, thanks flowers! I also wrote up a character outline for DADA's lyrics, in order to make it easier for people to understand (based on the background story and his own words). I have to update it, as I haven't added to it since he restarted the project, but will post that in order to get others' opinions on it.

On a side note, I wondered if anyone could verify if the following is actually true? I wasn't aware, but if so, how very sad and shows that DADA actually has compassion for others (unlike his usual self XD). Also shows his genius when he integrated it into the Alice/Madame Tarantula storyline. It is supposedly referring to the 'Paraph' song:

This song was written by vocalist DADA in honor of a couple of fans who sent him a letter of thanks and farewell, according to an interview in 2003 by vocalist the letter contained accounts of the life of the two where they showed unhappy with their daily lives and reported the appreciation for the music of VELVET EDEN and a farewell to the band. After reading the letter the singer managed to get in touch with the family of one of the two and found that they had died in a traffic accident, fall car into a ravine killing both, given the evidence the police interpreted the incident as a suicide collective.

It is what is written by the uploader for the 'Paraph' PV that was uploaded recently on YouTube (and the audio changed, as I pointed out to the uploader). Their English isn't perfect, but the meaning is clear, nonetheless.

sounds weird...I mean the song is one of the oldest...so why would people have written a farewell to dada?.... (or am I missing something in the story this person shared?)

Well, from what I can gather from what the uploader wrote, it seems that VELVET EDEN changed the two (who committed suicide)'s lives and they sent him a letter stating this, but VELVET EDEN apparently wasn't enough to stop them from killing themselves and DADA found this out when he went to visit one of them's families.

I'd like to know what 2003 interview this apparently came from so I could validate it, as this is the first I've ever heard of it. It does sound odd, but I suppose it could be true. DADA did used to reply to fan mail he received back then, so it's possible that this occurred. But this is DADA we're talking about though, so it could also be entirely fabricated at the same time, even if he did state this in an interview in 2003.

Sure, here is the link to the video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o6vH8IkQkzI

Just click the video description, he has it written in three languages. And as I said, the audio is wrong for the video, he replaced it because the audio was distorted slightly in the video (he originally got the video from VK.com; he e-mailed me the original link, however the message he wrote about the video was nowhere on the original video location). I didn't ask him about the message, but I still could. XD I didn't think to do it at the time.

There's someone spreading incorrect information? Crazy.

thanks, not the same person though... I wonder what interview it's from... have you asked?

Yeah I know! That person pm:ed me asking if I wanted to know some information about some bands, and since I've been a fan of Velvet Eden for a while now I concider myself knowing alot, and the information that guy gave me was so obviously wrong (it even was stuff the band has announced officially!).

Ah, I actually am going to e-mail him and ask him what interview this was from. I can't believe I didn't think to do it before. XD I'll let you know his response.

Yeah, I don't know why people make up things like that. The Visual Kei scene is confusing enough as it is WITH official information without people adding absurd rumors to the mix.

To reiterate, was there anyone that has the VELVET EDEN demo versions of Luzifer, No.15 and Jailed prince that DADA had uploaded on YouTube last year? I REALLY need them, if anyone has them, thank you!

I have them, but I'm at work now and won't be home until late tonight. If you still need them tomorrow I'll share them on 4shared.

To everyone interested, Velvet Eden released a new demo today, "Fetus" which I found myself really enjoying a lot. It is in the same vein as "Sea of Blood" and also seems to share the choir/organ feel from Royal Chapel level of "Castlevania: Symphony of the Night". (Requiem for the Gods)

Yeah! I ended up really liking it a lot!

Velvet Eden: Fetus

In the pitch black darkness,
my future self is burning

It's useless, there's no reason to help me
I'm sorry, it's because I hate myself

I hear your voice again tonight
You should already know what fate has in store

And if you despise it,
It doesn't matter if you gaze at it or not
I just wish I could be with you for one moment
As gentle as you are right now

Love me, love me
I want to try to live
Even if my first word is
Goodbye

At the stroke of midnight in a cold room
I'm being lifted up by a stranger's hands
Aiming at the floor from so high up,
I hate this

Love me, love me
I want to try to live
Even if my first word is
Goodbye

oh my, did anyone see Ken's rage at Dada for not credit him on Double Twelve? :PI just love how they share their quarrels on official spaces so everyone can see.... (sure it's funny but it's giving the bands such a sad and unprofessional image:P)

Oh no, I wasn't aware of that, but that's not surprising...DADA has way of alienating himself from almost everyone, I begin to wonder if that's intentional at times. You're correct, it is humorous, but the unprofessionalism does shine through. Do you have a link to this? I'd like to read it?

did he do it in English or Japanese? Cause from what I hear, he's not really very good at either. Chances dada didn't even understand him.
Like really, the worst choice dada could have made was to work with him and kiwamu. Between the 3 of them it's gotta be one huge dramafest 24/7

I don't have a link but it was in the comments on one of Dada's most recent updates, in english :P

The thing is, Dada did have some trouble in general with credits .... I mean Confessions of mask was announced as a Aci song, then sure Dada did the remix, but in the cd booklet it doesn't even mention Aci. And Ken's remix doesn't mention Ken nor Aci (if I remember correct, eventhough Aci composed Witch on flames). so I can see why this is upsetting, BUT normal bands take this in private...not on facebook for everyone to see.

Didn't Dada say he couldn't get in touch with Aci anymore? I like the original Confession of Mask as well and I would have liked to hear studio version of the rest of his songs (I think there were about 4 or 5 tunes that were never formally released...)

Oh man... Dada, Kiwamu, and GPK in a meeting together... This would either be a reunion of kindred spirits or the catalyst that would set off a chain reaction of social media destruction... From the ruins, only one monolith of social networking would remain standing tall, untouched: LiveJournal (or maybe LinkedIn)

Surprisingly, this is actually a thing! BeLinked (which used to be LinkedUp) is a dating service that matches you with other users with like professional interests based on your profile data in LinkedIn O_O Nothing says romance quite like analyzing data conversion spreadsheets on the beach at sunset.

Yeah we all know what 'professional interests' translates to (for a hint, see my sig).

Seriously though, if there are 3 people not to be in the same room with at the same time, it is those 3 people.
It sucks Dada doesn't credit people for things and all that, and it sucks they're having kindergarten quarrels at ages 30-45 but eh.
That has become VE, and Kiwamu, and Ken I think. It's who they are and what they do. So it's not unexpected.
I'm glad it sounds like Aci has gotten so far out of there that he probably doesn't care anymore :)
Smart move dude.
