it was.... 2001 I think.... I met them through Gackt... and fell inlove at once!... I even forgot all about Gackt being solo after meeting the band xD

even if I met the band with Klaha =O

I dunno... I was searching for L'arc-en-ciel (shame on me -_-) pictures on Kazaa, and I found one of Gackt and Mana (who I thought it was a woman), and that was the start of it... I was later downloading their songs, and everything else...

Not anywhere clean, I can tell you that.
My story is going to be a little long,so get a soda or something.

It was 2004...
My first year of Japanese was a very memorable one. My Sensei (a real Nihonjin) was, and probably still is a Gackt fanatic. She literally had Gackt posters all over the clasroom! Being quite the newbie to the world of J-rock, I asked one of my friends about who he is, and she told me he was this very popular rock star. For a month or two, I rocked out to Rebirth (my fave Gackt album), and in November, I read deeper that He was part of this band called Malice Mizer. I'm really into gothic music so, I checked it out. I heard a few Merveilles songs, but not much.

It wasn't untill summer the next year that I got the "Saikai no Chi to Bara" VHS at the Kinokuniya Bookstore in my area (where I get all my J-CDS) and learned M+M's tragic history.

I started liking Tetsu a few months ago because in that era, the band was kind of "The Cure" with classical influences. I got used to it.

I was automatically hooked on Klaha the moment I heard Gardenia.
theyre all so hot and awesome.

life story?:

so i have always in my life been embarressed of my limited music choices. I never had anyone in my family introduce me to any person. (My mother in fact once was shocked i had never heard of "so and so" and it was like DUH. how am i supposed to know?) i never really got into music... only people like my older sister showed me.. like britney spears... XD and remixed versions of video game music... phantom of the opera...etc...

i had been listening to anime soundstracks and just songs from anime in general because that"s all i could find that i liked...i was sad i never had that one artist/group that i wanted to buy cds of or go to concerts....

then one of my anime loving friends tells me she has a "i have to listen to this guy" CD. she said he was amazing and he could sound like a girl at times and omg you NEED to listen to this cd. So i did. Did I ever.... love something so much? It wasn't that kind of love... but this very good feeling.... his voice was... undescribable? I loved it and wanted a copy of it. the song was Ares by Gackt.

it wasn't until much later in the year (november of 2004 i believe) that I decided i would google the man and do a little research about him. My friend had told me before about malice mizer but i sorta blew that off until i heard them myself.... boy was i ever amazed.... Syunikiss BLEW ME AWAY. i remember the only songs i could find were that one and beast of blood... which i would listen on an endless playlist for hours....

soon after i saw a few videos from the merveilles lespace concert and was like "MUST HAVE DVD NOW."

malice mizer just.... clicked for me....

i was a huge house fan for many years and one of my past times was listening to streaming web radio/tv shows. But i began to get sick of it all, the same 909 kicks/snares/hi hats. i began to hate it all. I became sick for about a week and one night i was once again listening/watching some streaming stations. I clicked this japanese station and who did i find, none other than Gackt's PV "mizerable".

i instantly fell in love with everything about the song, the chorus, the bassline, the melody; i needed more. I googled as much as i can, and then found out he was in malice mizer. so i figured i should start from the beginning.

the first song i heard from MM was Syunikiss ~nidome no aitou~ and thats how it all started

In 2006, a friend at school told me about Beast of Blood. I thought "cool". So, I listened to it and I thought it was terrible. Then over the summer I found the song and listened to it. I realized how awesome it was and I downloaded Baroque and Tsuioku no kakera. I loved them so I bought a de memoire/voyage (bootleg) and then I became obsessed.

My first song was Saikai no chi to bara, and first song with lyrics was Garnet, and both were downloaded videos. I immediatly fell in love and I now consider Malice Mizer to be may favorite band. I found this in 2005 around February I think?? This would be the Moi Dix Mois era I guess :P

I really just stumbled upon MM by accident on the web. I was doing an image search on black feather wings or angle of death or something on google and came across Gackt in his Merveilles outfit. At this time I had heard of Gackt but never really listened to him. Later I found out that the pic was from a video and not from his solo work, but with a band called Malice Mizer. I then began to Download as much videos as I could from them to try to find that outfit he was wearing in action. So what started off as a simple fascination to see a costume in action ended up as me finding my favorite band ::k::

Now if only I could get the DJ to play their songs at the Goth club(at least the industral dancy ones) ::hora::

OKay, my very first song from them was Le Ciel about a year ago...I randomly ran into the video on youtube. Obviously after they were disbanded. I would hear them now and then after that, but after Bara No Seidou and hearing Klaha's beautiful voice....I instantly became a fan.

Wow,i've practically grown up with them since i was a toddler as i've been told by my Uber-MM Freak brother.

He dragged me to 3 of their lives,L'espace included (hate all you want :P) and i wasn't even 10 yet.

It's funny b/c i was born when MM was starting and i didn't start to truly appreciate what i was hearing until they were over. ;__;

But yeah. The song that caught my attention the most was of course,ILLUMINATI (P-Type).
When i listen to it,i stop and dance xD. Screw the album version,it's all 'bout that P-TYPE!!!
-Moe. xD

The first song I heard were from Bara no Seidou, and I immediately fall in love with their music!
Unfortunately, I discover MM music in the same time as Dix Infernal was release so years after their disband...
I regret not to listen to their music before, I always hope their will "reband" but well...*amazing dream*

Ano... I think it was around Christmas. Yeah, my friend had mentioned Gackt and I was looking at pictures of him because I was bored... and then I saw pictures of Mana. And then... yeah. Obsession.
The first song I heard was Beast of Blood.

First song was probably Au revoir and I didn't like it ,not at that time. (A black/death metal head I was during that time, haha)
So one day years after that I found myself collecting pictures of Malice Mizer, started to listen to them more. And that got me hooked!
Favourite songs are probably : Sadness ~ I know the reason for her sadness and Eege Umi ni Sasagu! making "Tetsu era" my favourite one musically. Favourite era when it comes to style and costumes hmm... the "Beast of blood" and "illuminati". maybe...
I change my mind constantly and now I won't write a novel about this... *end*

why are somemany people lying around here??
no one cares if you listened to them in 1992 or in 2008, so please be honest about it.

How do you know who's lying and who isn't?
