Who buys multiple versions?

Inspired by the discussion in the random thread! People were talking about singles released in ridiculous numbers of multiple versions, and I found myself wondering: "Who buys this stuff?" So I thought I'd do a poll. How many of you are in the habit of buying multiple versions of releases? What's the most you've bought of any one release? Discuss!

My record is 2, for various 1st and 2nd presses of some older items, and 2 different tape colors of Misa's "kakuu no hitobito" I don't think I'd buy 3 of anything.

the only item i bought twice is also misa's kakuu no hitobito, 1st press (green tape) and 2nd (white tape) versions...
i also have da'vid/shito:aL's hoshi no hako twice (one of them sealed) but it was a very special gift

othar than that, nothing... i wouldn't fall into the ABCDEFGHI... types trick. those kind of bands should be exterminated, NOW

I only have one Cains:Feel demo, and it's not the 3-track demo that came in different colors XD

I only counted things I've bought and kept for myself. When Dir en grey's VULGAR came out in 2003 with the one type with the DVD and the other type with the website-only stuff, I bought myself the DVD version and my best friend the other version for her birthday; just for comparison. Turns out I wished I'd bought myself the non-DVD version; I hate the Obscure video. Ah well.

But for myself? Never. Never more than one. If the choice is between a video or a song, go for the one with the extra song. The video isn't something you can jam to on the go.

To be honest, I'm kind of a prejudiced jerk: I tend to think of people who buy both types of a 2-type release (regularly; not just the ones their 1 favorite band does) are simply people with questionable taste and poor money management skills. And that's the threshhold of what I can stand. The 3-typers are just total idiots and if you've bought 3 types of something before then basically I'm forcing you, by the tenants of Eleckery, to come to confessional via PM. Any more than that and you're damned.

I meant music items. For fashion items, making it a different color essentially makes it a completely different item, so it doesn't count for my poll anyway.

Oops. I put three when I actually meant two. And the only time I've ever bought two of virtually the same thing was with Psycho le Cemu's "LOVE IS DEAD" single. I got both because... they had one different song between them. I ended up selling both of them for more than a paid for both, so it all worked out in the end.

Four versions of B'z's latest single "SPLASH!" were tempting. A different music video for three of them, and just a regular version for the last one. I was going to get two (cause I liked two of the songs they had videos for) but ended up just getting one cause storing all these things is starting to get mendokusai.

I think three is the most for me... I get everything nine inch nails-related, and I have all versions of all halos (except for halo 12, it's the only one I'm still missing >.<). As for Japanese music, I don't think I have more than one of each... Oh, well, I have two of Nocturnal Opera, because the European version comes with a cd/dvd with all the singles and Unmoved from the Invite to Immorality tour as a video on it, so I had to have it. ^_^;;

edit: Right, I also have three, soon four, versions of the FFVII:AC DVD; American, British, Japanese, and soon the Swedish one (but that's not really music-related... I have loads of different versions of games >.<). And soon I'll have both the European and the Japanese version of Scars of Sabbath... But that's just because... Oh I don't know why. >.<;;

The most I've bought is 3 copies of Memoire. I bought the first press, the second press, and the DX press. But Malice Mizer is the only band I buy multiple presses from. I have 1st and Second presses of all of their albums (and a special press of Merveilles, I guess I have 3 copies of that too)

I might buy the regular press of Beyond the Gate later, but not right yet ^^;

Two. I have both versions of D's "The name of the ROSE", Vidoll's "Deathmate", and Schwardix Marvally's "HEAVENS ROMANCE." Some had different PVs, and others a different extra song. However, I won't go for three.

I used to have both Coll:set's by D'espairsRay and two first presses of NOCTURNAL OPERA, but I sold one of each. I'm getting out of buying two anyway. One is enough.

I bought two versions of My Ruin's album 'A Prayer Under Pressure...of Violent Anguish' because one of the versions was a live UK-only album. So they're kind of different, but the same.

I bought both versions of Deathmate. And regretted it terribly. I have two Nocturnal Operas, because I got the first press for the kickass slipcase. And then two Withering to Deaths, the Japanese first press and the American release. And then I used to have two Merveilles...s, the first press and the one that came with the collection thingy, but I sold the boxset. Generally though, I only buy another of the same release after I've lost one, and with different types I pick whatever has what I want the most (always the song if it's between an extra song and a PV).

Deadman released a CD called 701125, then 2 years later re-released it again with two more songs, and it was aptly named 701125+2.

That's it.
I think have 2 Memoires too, but one has Baroque, and the other doesn't.

So far ive never bought more than one version but i have bought a single just so i could get the ov then bought the album with the single on it ::kisaki::
