The challenge: come up with a list of your 20 favorite albums of all time (in order or not). If you can't come up with 20, just post however many albums you can think of that you absolutely adore and cannot live without.

Here's my list, in no particular order (because that would be completely impossible). It was excruciating to put together (who gets to be on it, who doesn't - oh, decisions, decisions)*.

It's interesting to note that Kozi got on there, considering that most of the stuff on the list has been in my top 20 for many years. It says a lot that he knocked Underworld off the list.

Oh, and also, I tried to keep it to just one album per artist.

(Possible contenders for Top 5 in bold)

The Cure - Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me
The Smiths - The Smiths
Natacha Atlas - Halim
Modest Mouse - This is a Long Drive For Someone With Nothing To Think About
Kozi - Katharsis
Malice Mizer - Bara no Seidou
Metallica - Master of Puppets
The Misfits - Walk Among Us
Christian Death - Only Theater of Pain
The Sugarcubes - Life's Too Good
Deee-Lite - Dewdrops in the Garden
Anthrax - Sound of White Noise
Duran Duran - Rio
GWAR - America Must Be Destroyed
Arcadia - So Red the Rose
Faith No More - Angel Dust
Fear of God - Within the Veil
My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult - Confessions of a Knife
Sinead O'Connor - The Lion and the Cobra
Ministry - Twitch

*I predict that this will be a lot harder depending on age, since some of us probably have like 15 years or more of seriously listening to music under our belts.

Nine Inch Nails - Downward Spiral
The Cure - Wish
Depeche Mode - Songs of Faith and Devotion

I was just a minute ago thinking that maybe not everyone can come up with 20. Less than 20 is fine too. People should just post however many favorites they can think of in that case. I'm just interested in seeing what everyone just utterly adores and couldn't live without.

almost made it to mine, but didn't.

Most of my cds listed are just albums that have survived the times with me and are thus note-worthy. XD I'd really have to consider which I couldn't live without, though- probably just Crescent and Post Card.

I don't think singles should count here. If so, my list would go wayyyy on.

I think a single can be as good as an album in certain circumstances, and in those cases, the singles make it to my list. I'm keeping them there.

Yeah, it can. But this is about actual albums, not how good a certain CD in general is. Favourite singles is off-topic in this thread. ;)
