@Claire: Tetsu rarely strays away from his core catalogue of nil songs when he does acoustic events. He might throw in some English covers and Zigzo songs but that's about it. During one retrospective acoustic concert series he did in 2006 (or so) he performed one or two Malice Mizer and Mega8Ball songs. I wouldn't expect him to do that again though.

And they did record and stream the event live, so it wasn't completely unplugged, but they weren't amped-up or anything.

@harajukululu: I agree, I love nil but I find Zigzo flawless in every way. Probably because they outputted so little that there really isn't much to dislike at all.

I hadn't seen any of that live footage before, so thanks for posting the links. Especially in regards to that acoustic performance. One day when I'm not so lazy I'll watch this performance and write out the guitar music for these songs.

I'm not really digging the Warp Rock cover, honestly. Something about it looks strange to me, I don't know.

As for The JuneJulyAugust, I really like what I've heard so far. I mean, I've got big soft spot for Tetsu and anything he does, but it sounds good. It's a departure from what he's done with Nil, Zigzo, and Mega8Ball, but at the same time sounds familiar. His writing style is very obvious to me, and I like that about him.

When you do write out those riffs, I'll gladly read them if you care to share ^_^ My ear isn't at the level of figuring out riffs.

I don't care for the Warp Rock cover either. Most nil releases are hit or miss, graphic design speaking. nil's Geron might be my favorite. Initially I thought it was whatever but now I find it sublime. 12inplosion is another well done one that looked to have a budget. The rest are just design nightmares like Scotoma and JJA's Deep Inside cover. The front of it should've been the backcover!

JJA is quite different and they've already performed some new songs at lives recently. Sayonara Gravity and one other I forget the name of. Hopefully we'll see a single release sometime soon!

Sato Taiji of Theater Brooke held a few concerts earlier this month in support of Japan.

Throughout the event he invited many guests to sing along with and perform by themselves. Tetsu appeared on the last night (2011-05-12) and performed with Sato and another person (who's name I haven't found yet).

If anyone wants to figure out the tracklist please post it here! Tetsu slips in a "Don't leave me high, don't leave me dry" in one song for you Radiohead fans.

Neeeeeeeeeeee, Mama, daijoubou yo!

Either fans are too respectful or live halls are too strict, but this is the first live clip of JuneJulyAugust to finally hit the web. There is a good improv moment added to the song which the commentor has kindly posted in English.

'With THE JUNEJULYAUGUST's "Shonenhei" Tetsu Takano (also of Nil/ Zigzo/ Mega8ball/ Malice Mizer fame) expresses the current fears and frustrations of the Japanese people regarding the looming threat of radiation to their children.
Starting at 3:47:
"Mama, my nose won't stop bleeding! But it's ok, everyone says 20 millisieverts is safe. Mama what does 20 millisieverts taste like? Mama what does radiation smell like?? Mama what is 20 millisieverts??? The bleeding won't stop!!! Help me Mama!!!"
Through his powerful performance, Tetsu proves one of the few Japanese musicians brave enough to convey the anger that currently rages throughout the usually calm and reserved society.

THE JUNEJULYAUGUST「

Thanks for sharing that. The composition and performance are both great. Not to mention how moving/depressing that monologue is :(

I never knew the Japanese had protest songs. They're so tame.

For you Tetsu fans, there's no excuse now. Warp Rock is available on Amazon.com for $6.23. Beats paying the normal $20-30 for an imported CD!

http://www.amazon.com/Warp-Rock/dp/B004662FP2/

This album was a nice little rebound from previous albums and I totally endorse it!

Support your former Malice Mizer vocalist!

Thanks a lot for this, Cardy! I had a huge fit of nostalgia yesterday and had to listen to "Memoire DX" again.

I still don't like that cover art. :(

Either way, the album is good, but doesn't come close to what AGAPE and Sayonara Da Vinci made me feel.

Since this has become the defacto repository of all things nil and tetsu, here's a new video that cropped up of Sato Taiji (Theatre Brooke), Utsumi Youko and Tetsu performing Neil Young's Rockin in a free world.

During a MC at a JuneJulyAugust live, Tetsu mentioned that JJA will start recording a new album next month to be released in April.

That's all for now folks! That should make a few Tetsu fans happy.

Kazi has updated his blog about how he's prepping for the record session for the new JJA album which has been titled 'Edelweiss'.

http://yaplog.jp/touen/

Coincidentally he announced the start of a new band called 'The Everything Breaks' which will debut the same night JJA performs on Kazi's annual birthday gig. It's only relevant news in that he probably knows JJA will be on hold while Tetsu resumes Zigzo.

All signs point to a Zigzo year folks!

D'aww it seems like it... it would be kind of dissapointing if TJJA gets on hold, because I think that's the second best thing Tetsu has done in his entire career (with Zigzo being the best). But it seems like Tetsu has a full schedule for all year, which is awesome.

Let's hope for the best results.

Since this thread is used for both nil and TJJA topics: What do you know about TJJA comic? It's present in its website. However I don't know any japanese and have no idea what's going on there, but it looks like daily life stuff.

Here.

They're mainly teasers playing on words of the name 'JuneJulyAugust'. I'd have to spend more time to concentrate and break through the cursive of the first two but the third one is relatively simple:

Panel 1:
Red hair lady: Hello there
Mom: Well, Introduce yourself

Panel 2:
Boy: Guudo Afutanuun (Good Afternoon)
Red hair lady: Oh my, How clever. And how old are you?

Panel 3:
Boy: Ummm, Ummm
Boy: June July August...

Panel 4:
Mom: He's saying that because he was born in August
Red hair lady: That doesn't tell me how old he is
