I think suits looks good so I think it's possitive to have dresscodes at work, but that's probably because we don't here, I understand it can get annoying having to dress up everyday even though you work in an office by yourself.
I totally agree about the suits. I don't think it's annoying having to dress up every day, but that's just me. My mom is the same way and rarely ever goes "casual" in the full sense of the word. I can't even imagine being in an office without a nice blouse and pants on (if I'm not wearing a suit and button down shirt) even while some are wearing like... shorts or sundresses. Similarly, I can't imagine going to class without a nice outfit, not like I rolled out of bed. I just love the feeling of being dressed up and looking professional, it's great! I love those types of clothes.

Slightly off topic but I was walking down a crowded street and this man dropped his tie and NO ONE PICKED IT UP. I saw it from far away and thought that someone would, but no one did, so I ran after him and gave it to him. Weird. I mean, it was a gold woven tie so it wasn't exactly invisible. XD

Now if you'll excuse me I have to put together an outfit *rushes off*

I also enjoy dressing up for class, most of the time, but some days I just feel like... ::hora:: , (meaning jeans and hood) and I can't imagen having to dress up on a ::hora:: -day) X'D

Seriously? I never dressed up for class XD

In other news I took my first practice JLPT N5 last night and I totally passed ::meev:: Maybe in December I'll go for my certificate to prove that I have the language skills of a Japanese toddler XD

Also, for French speakers:
"Qui vous autorise a me tutoyer?"

The right spelling is "Qui vous autorise à me tutoyer?" How shocking coming from such an "eminent" journalist, but then he must have been choking with rage, ahahahah! How typical coming from someone who once posed as a die-hard Socialist, while being a Grand Bourgeois as a lot of them are...

Yes, I think it's fun, probably because I'm an indoor person so I don't get so many occasions to acctually dress up. When I have classes I like to go for the "school uniform" look (pleated skirts, overknee socks, shirts, ribbon around the neck)

We were all like one back in the day, all us ex-members of VII.
So, no matter who you were a fan of, I really hope you continue to support everyone in their various projects.

By the way, the other day, I saw RayX for the first time since we broke up.
He's looking better than he did before...
Everyone say the same about me recently...
I guess it looks like RayX has found something new to do with his life
Personally, I want him to be in a band
I've never seen a guitarist who can play like him, and I don't think another one exists.

What a waste...
Sorry, I really don't think he's coming back to the music scene ^^;

Following up on the subject of the use of "tu" or "vous", I read today in my weekly magazine that the young in Sweden want the Swedish word for "vous" to be used again, which the older people decided not to use anymore in the 60's. Now isn't this odd? Or is it because pretending there is no such thing as social differences is pointless?

Did they say why?
Unfortunately, no. But apparently they wanted to break away from an overly "equalitarian" society. And believe it or not, but their elders are FURIOUS, ahahahah!

Also, I wonder if English is the only language where we use "vous" for everyone and forgot "tu".
I have no idea, but A LOT of languages seem to have at least 2 different words, with probably different criteria as to their use, depending on the local culture.

You know, it's so weird.
In Paris I thought I hated Paris and felt like I was alienated from the French.

But then, when I got to Budapest I met a French man and we chatted in French for an hour or so...and I realized that I suddenly felt like HE was my in-group and speaking French was a relief.
This doesn't mean I accept Paris though!!!!

We used Tu, for what it's worth.

My boyfriend is from Sweden and he tries to learn French, it was SO hard to explain to him how to use 'vous" and 'tu'. It was hard for him to understand why he should use 'vous' with my parents but 'tu' with my siblings.
As for me, when I was in Sweden, it was weird to use 'du'(tu) with everyone, even elderly people ::erm:: .
On the other hand, it seems they still use 'ni'(vous) for very special situations(like when a steward/stewardess talks to a passenger).
I don't know if it's better to keep this kind of formal/informal distinction. After all, it works in English with 'you".

Are you learning Swedish? I think most people are kind of rude here, I always try and remind myself to use more formal words (ni)

Yes I'm learning Swedish(well on my own). I never noticed any rudeness when I travelled there, people were mostly helpful and polite. What is great is that most people speaks English too. Believe me, in Paris people are mostly rude AND don't speak English or any other language:/

People ALWAYS speak English to me in Paris, even if I do not want them to.
But yeah, they're still rude.

Where are you Hanachan?? I just watched Spongebob Squarepants in German...

Really? Maybe it's because I live in Stockholm or because I'm swedish but I think many people are really rude. I get the feeling people here are very afraid of getting involved in stuff, to the point that they get ignorant and not helpful.

well, to be honest, everybody answered my questions but that's it, like "yes that's there, bye". Only few people asked me a bit more about myself ,like where I came from, etc. But I agree that most people were just really direct and just wanted to go away as fast as possible.
