can't wait for this.

... because it'll bring down prices on the original SNES version Credit King I want to play the original.

Anyone played the new DS Castlevania? I assume it's like the previous installments.

The new Chrono Trigger for the DS is actually the same exact game as the original with added content like extra dungeons and an extra ending that was originally supposed to be in the game.

If anything, I think this coming out will make the prices of the original shoot up since it would be even more rare and the original version.

I bought Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia today. I forgot my DS at my dorm though, so that is shit.

I will be playing it on my old clunky grey DS. D: I really want the black one...but I don't want to spend another $100 for something that's pretty much the same but just looks cooler.

I finished Secret of Mana, which I grew to hate more and more, but had to finish because it was so expensive :P

I've already complained about the combat system, but it just got more and more un-fun as the game went on. By the end it was just a matter of soaking up massive unavoidable damage and constantly healing, while waiting to charge up high-level weapon techniques. Magic became useless because of the "use to level up" system and the general rarity of magic-restoring items.

I finished Easy (all songs 5 stars) on Guitar Hero III today. AGAIN. My saved game bit the dust after my sister copied it (we were sharing it) and I had to start over. Already finished medium except for Raining Blood.

Now I need to practice Hard so I can play songs other than Slow Ride. ::meev::

god.. i'm so tired of slow ride. I used to work in the games section of a computer store and I listened to that stupid song ALL DAY. We unlocked all the songs, but no! EVERYONE HAD TO PLAY THAT PIECE OF SHIT

Has anyone else played Shadow of the Colossus? I played it for, like, an hour and gave up because even just the first Colossus was so frickin' hard that I lost all interest in continuing to try to kill the stupid thing. Anyone have this problem, or am I just retarded?

I beat the first six colossi and never touched it again because I lost interest. The world they created was so beautiful yet tragically empty and boring. If the game were more than just boss fights I'd probably have had the will to finish it. This game, along with Ico are very highly regarded but I can't help but feel they are incredibly overrated.

If I had really worked at it, I'm sure I could've killed the first Colussus, but I was having such a hard time with the controls and I was getting my ass beat so bad, that I decided it wasn't worth it.

I liked Ico a lot, but yeah, it was overrated. Plus, it only took 10 hours to beat - which is just unacceptably short in my opinion.

Why? Is it too short or too hard? Because I don't like either of those things.

I understand the appeal of a challenge, but when it's so challenging that it just makes me angry, no thanks. Prince of Persia The Sands of Time is a good example of what my difficulty threshold is. If it was any harder, like Ninja Gaiden for instance, I would have given up.

And when a game is way too short that pisses me off too given the amount of money these things cost these days. When I played the first .hack and I was done with it in less than 20 hours (which, for an RPG is just crazy - especially when it's not even that great of a game) I was so pissed I decided to not waste my money on the rest of the series though the game had an intriguing concept.

I think that trophies and achievements have remedied the problem of short games this generation (I recall you saying you dont have a ps3 or 360, so I'm afraid this is no consolation to you). Recently I spent over 30 hours getting the all the trophies in Dead Space, which should really only last you about 10 hours your first time and 6 hours for subsequent playthroughs. Higher difficulty settings also extend the life of a game (It was taking me 6 hours to go through Dead Space on Medium difficulty, but at least 12 on the hardest setting). The "sweet spot" of game length to me would be about 40 hours. I think that justifies the price of admission. Some games (PERSONA 3!) are just too fucking long (although I enjoyed nearly every minute of it, at least up until the last month when I had already ascended tarturus as high I could and was above level 80). I feel compelled to beat any game I buy so if a game ends up being ass and taking 60+ hours to beat I get super pissed and it feels like a chore to play.

Resistance 2 took me about 10 hours on hard and upon completing it I unlocked the "superhuman" difficulty, which will yield a nice shiny gold trophy upon completion. Without incentive like this to play through a game multiple times, it's hard to justify spending 60 bucks a pop on a videogame unless you're really into multiplayer (I'm not).

Difficulty really is a preference choice though; However I typically start a game on the hardest mode because beating it results in not only longer playtime but the feeling of being a complete and total badass (I fucking owned Ninja Gaiden 2!).

Anyways, I agree with you on the .hack series. I only bought the first one and thought it was such a money making scam because they broke the game into four different episodes when the game was so short to begin with.
